Poor salad. The lobster steak special had a small lobster. It was four bites. We were asked if there was a special occasion and we told them a birthday. They did nothing. The stuff they served with the bread was a slimy gross mess in a bowl. This was our first time there. We will not be returning.
We went there for dinner shortly after arrival in South Lake Tahoe. My wife had the Turkey special and I had the Prime Rib and Lobster special. Both were excellent. You'd expect the Prime Rib on a special to be of a lesser quality, but that was not the case. It was done to perfection. The Lobster tail was also cooked well Both meals included potatoes, which were fresh and tasted wonderful. My special included one of their signature salads that was big enough to share. My wife said the turkey was excellent. The bread was fresh and tasty, with a mix of butter, olive oil and cheese which I hadn't seen before, but was very good.
Went for my birthday with wife, visit tahoe frequently and stayed at secrets in just few blocks away and heard nothing but good things about this place and was very happy with the food and prices, specials.will be going here again when in tahoe, nice but not too fancy,a lot of families there
Great value and the food was excellent. If they upgraded the value a little, they could charge more!
When in Tahoe we always have dinner here, but this time the service was disappointing. Our waitress never checked on us, asked for bread 3 times then finally got it, had to ask for refill on drinks, didn't get steak knives. I even had to ask for the check and a to go box. I was surprised because service is usually great, but I guess everyone can't be great. 😳
Easter Dinner was very crowded but the food and service was fine. I'm so glad I had made reservations since there was over an hour wait.
OK food in a coffee shop pretending to be a better dining experience.
We had a wonderful time, the staff was attentive the food amazing. They even let us sit and chat for some time after we paid our check.
Not much to return for. Martini tasted like straight Vermouth followed by, I think , Parmesan soaked in some kind of oil. The “rare prime rib was anything but , accompanied by two bites of lobster. The baked potato was the best part of the meal. We were so turned off it darkened our mood to gamble and decided to leave without doing so.
We went for our Anniversary, had the lobster and prime rib, it was very good. Would go back again. Next time I would get the larger size. Overall very good.
We ordered the caesar salad, twin lobster special, and the salmon. Overall, the meal was fair. I thought the salmon had a little too much sauce.
Me and my husband got the Porterhouse steak. We did share and pack to go. So nice and tasty. The bread is amazing! And that mix they do with cream cheese and olive oil is to die for. Wish the restaurant was a little bit more cozy, with softer lights, but so far, everything else was perfect to us.
We were there to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I made reservations. We were seated in the bar area. Very disappointing! Our hostess who sat us was very rude. I let her know I was not happy with our seating arrangement especially since I had made reservations. It was noisy. She said nothing else was available. Really? I saw several couples being seated in the dining area! Where we should have been seated! We had a much better experience at Latin Soul.
Great food. Great service. Whole experience was worth the drive from the Bay Area. The Prime Rib was perfect, melted in my mouth. Lobster worth every bite. And the Mai Tai? Ohhhh boy...
Prime rib and lobster was worth it!!
Timbers was hard to find. GPS took us there. It was in a hotel. There was no signs outside of the hotel or in the entrance of the hotel to guide us to the place. We had to ask 2 people where it was. I reserved my table and was 15 minutes early, they sat us right away. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming, with a huge smile. Someone came to our table right away and took our drink orders. The man refilling our drinks was someone different from our waiter. He was prompt. We ordered about 10 minutes after we sat down. We ordered the callamari and raw oysters. Both was very very good. Callamari was a large portion.
The reason for the low stars is because i sensed and felt racism.... I'm from Hawai'i and was on vacation so naturally we are brown collored skin. Someone (2 people) was seated on another table about 25 minutes after us ordered their main food only a few minutes after we did (they were white colored). We ordered the prime rib and lobster dinner for both of us. They had the same waiter as us (he was white). And I looked over and they ordered the same as us. They got their order before us. We got ours 3 minutes after them. They were automatically given steak knifes for their prime rib, we didn't get offered or was given any. We had the hardest time cutting it with the butter knifes from the bread. Instead of asking us, if we were okay and anything he could get us, he went to go right away and help the next table that just sat down. I kept looking for our waiter but he didn't come. We continued to eat. We didn't get offered dessert after we were done. He handed us the bill, he said he'll be back to collect it, I was so furious that I just left cash for the bill and left. In Hawai'i we NEVER EVER treat anyone unequal because of their skin color.
(On another note, the prime rib and lobster dinner was a huge bargain and good.)
YLove this place! Outstanding food, always good. Try to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here every visit to Tahoe.
Delicious dinner! Tim always gives great service. The dinner and drinks are a good value.
We chose the Timbers for our Christmas Dinner, it was great to have a reservation in place by Open Table. We were seated promptly and the order for our drinks was taken. We ordered the Prime Rib and Lobster Special, a real value for the $21.00. The salad was fresh, the prime rib was cooked just right as was the lobster. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the bread, bit doughy - think they could be a bit more creative in what they offer for their bread, something with better texture. Overall a good experience, it was a bit slow in getting our check however the server we had was running her legs off, had a lot of tables to look after. I would recommend The Timbers to anyone looking for a good meal, nice atmosphere and value. They serve a Great breakfast and their coffee is good too,
We thought this would be a nice dining place for Christmas Eve, but realized quickly it was mediocre at best. No table cloths, food was ok. Not well run either. Service was ok. Servers were nice. Won't be going back.
Thank you to open table for providing a space for "special requests" secretly, I asked Timbers via the open table app to acknowledge my husband's birthday! It went perfectly!! We had an amazing evening, steak and lobster were amazing, and the soup was superb. We went back for breakfast, amazing
Service was impeccable. JARRETT WAS AWESOME . Food was delicious and prices were good
We made reservations for Thanksgiving with my family and this was the first time we were so disappointed in this place. When we arrived they made us wait 15 minutes to be seated. Our waiter did not seem to know what he was doing. He was constantly forgetting things like our drinks, utensils to name a few. He just seemed very scattered. Our food came out cold and it was just not up to par. I was embarrassed because I really talked it up to my family that was visiting from out of town. It just did not seem like the same Timbers. Not sure that I can recommend or will be back. Use to be one of our favorite places to eat.
The Prime Rib with Lobster is a very good option and good goat vs benefit!
Excellent meal of prime rib and lobster. Great food, portion size, and value. Quick friendly service!
Great service and excellent food
Nice restaurant with a great ambience
Everyone was very nice and attentive. Early dinner was so good and just right amount of food.
Great service, awesome service. It was a special birthday dinner
The food was average and way to expensive. Our waiter was great.
Mike was an amazing server. He paid attention to all details. The special was a fair price and very good. Nice view of the sunset sky. Thanks.
Excellent food for a great price. Not many good value restaurants in thr Tahoe Basin. Always a great meal and service. My friends always love it when I bring them here and some are very picky. Good cocktails
Great prime rib and lobster dinner for just $21.99
Good table for sunset view. Fair price and good quantity of food. Too bad some vegetables and the potato were cold. Server overhead and replaced potato.
Made reservations but no priority in seating. We were told there was Over an hour wait for that area. We had to complain several times to get moved to an area that you couldn't smell the smoke from the casino. The prime rib special was good. The halibut was small dry and tasteless. The waiter wasn't willing to make any dietary accommodations. What's on the menu is what you get. Even if what you need is offered with a different combination on another entree. ( i.e. Plain rice vs pilaf ) service was slow and grudgingly given. Probably will choose a different venue next time.
THE FOOD WAS GOOD AND REASONABLE. MADE RESERVATION ON OPEN TABLE WHICH WAS VERY EASY AND WE GOT RIGHT IN WHEN WE GOT TO THE RESTAURANT. SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND EVERYONE WAS FRIENDLY.
Its just an average diner restaurant in a casino, nothing about it is remarkable.
Excellent food and service and especially good value.
The best items were the spicy margarita did the Brussels sprout! The completely forgot our salads and didn't even try to compensate for it. It took forever to get our food.
We thought the food was great but the atmosphere/location/interior were just so-so. The photos online look so cool, but we never really saw that area, I guess. We were at a table right next to the bar and the wait staff were swearing up a storm, loudly, as they gathered at the bar to pick up drinks. The attached casino is kinda icky, it that might be because I'm from California and the gross cigarette smoke in Nevada always feels icky and nasty to me. But, the food really was pretty dang good! Appropriately priced.
Excellent prime rib!! And the sides were a perfect combination.
