Thanksgiving weekend (date night)
Prices have gotten too expensive for lunch and dinner.
Fabulous setting, rustic charm, my wife had the prime rib and I had the smoked pork chop and we not only enjoyed it at the restaurant but made delicious sandwiches with the leftovers. Service was impeccable and prompt.
Steak and eggs good, potatoes some barely warm, some cold. Husband said biscuits and gravy were cold. Manager took his meal off the tab.
Great deal on prime rib and lobster!!!
The dining room is really bleak! We got a booth in the bar which was perfect. No noise and light!
The food was fantastic and large portions. We had plenty for dinner the next night too. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The setting is in an older casino so you do have to walk through some stale cigarette smell before you get to the restaurant but once you’re inside that all disappears.
The restaurant was in poor condition and I was leary going in that it was just going to be awful. The hostess didn't really know what she was doing, asked for the name on my reservation at least 4 times, but I was pleasantly surprised that the food was very good. Our server was excellent and overall I was happy with our dinner, good value, if you can overlook the restaurant itself.
great food, great price, and had left overs for the next day.
I had prime rib and lobster, very good.
Waitress, Diana, was outstanding, friendly, courteous and very efficient,
The restaurant overall is in need of a complete renovation, kind of rundown.
Just felt rushed. Very little time between pouring wine to salads to main course. Food was good but too many other choices to return.
The main entrees were delicious. The prime rib cooked right, the lobster tails were good, but the sides were not good. The garlic mashed potatoes had way too much garlic, and I like garlic. My wife asked for steamed broccoli which was not steamed enough. Go there for the steaks, prime rib, lobster. Forget the side; soup and salad, those were good. For $29.99 it's a good deal for Tahoe.
The Roasted Chicken special was excellent! You have the best mud pie I have ever tasted. We will be back!
WE WENT TO TWO RESTAURANTS IN LAKE TAHOE. ONE ON 8-28-19 TIMBERS, ONE ON 8-30 THE CHART HOUSE AT SOUTH LAKE TAHOE. THE CHART HOUSE WAS INCREDIBLE GREAT SERVICE AND THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD, PERIOD. TIMBERS, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, NOT GOOD. I ORDERED A PORK CHOP, IT WAS NOT A BAKED PORK CHOP IN SAUCE. IT WAS A HUNK OK HAM LIKE ON EASTER. I HAVE HAD PORK CHOPS IN NEW ORLEANS AND TIMBERS WAS NO PORK CHOP. THE CHICKEN PICATTA WAS FAIR AND THE CRAB CAKES WELL, THIS IS THE FIRST CRAB CAKE THAT LOOKED LIKE COOKED CHICKEN OF THE SEA TUNA. BAD CHOICE. CHART HOUSE IS COSTLY BUT THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD. TIMBERS IS NOT A GOOD RESTAURANT.
The food is good and big portions
The service was very good and it was a good value
Staying at the Lakeside Inn and Dinner for 3 people all ordered prime rib & lobster special 39.00 each. Dinners were cold, Prime rib Medium awful grey color. Rare no better could hardly cut meat. Baked potatoes were cold,Lobster tails were spongy & overcooked. $169.00later with a few cocktails & glass of wine.So disappointed and probably will not recommend nor revisit.
My first visit to The Timbers, and I was very satisfied with the service and food was great.
We have started going to Timbers on our annual visit to Lake Tahoe. Tim took really good care of us this time. After spending a day on the lake kayaking we were both starving. Food was great and drinks were perfect. We have made this a regular whenever we are in Stateline.
We recommended The Timbers for our friends anniversary dinner. They had looked at other steakhouse restaurants but felt they were too pricey. They were not disappointed with the value and quality. We all had prime rib and lobster with different sides and soup/salads. Add in a delicious Rodney Strong cabarnet and we were all in food heaven. Thanks for helping us make it a memorable dinner and evening.
Bad food, bad ambience. Do not go unless you're wanting to drink and watch sports. Horrible dining experience.
We have enjoyed several meals at this restaurant, mainly partaking of their prime rib and lobster special. This time I brought my mom and brother to enjoy a meal. The service was great and the food was good. I’m sure we will return!
Hostess professional and friendly, Seated in a isolated area, waited 15
Minutes before the wait help arrived. Wait helped saw the table we were at and commented that she wasn't supposed to have anymore customers. This made us feel "unwelcome" & that was NOT a good first impression. Table next to ours had some issues with their order and asked for the wait help. Wait help seemed to have no sympathy to the issue and the manager arrived, also with NO solution to the situation. Hearing all this made me nervous, I wanted a drink but DARED not to make it more ugly for the waithelp. Main focus of the food was ok, waithelp didnt ASK me what sides I wanted she JUST presumed I wanted salad and asked what type of dressing I wanted. Lobster TINY, Vegetables and potato was over cooked and appearance was interesting, the salad that I was 'FORCED TO HAVE' was wilty. Sadly I wanted to like this place and besides the main food focus everything else was an experience to learn from. I wouldn't recommend this place according to the advertisements rave.
We had not been in quite some time because the food quality went way down. We thought we would give it another try because this was one of our favorite local places. It was very good. Our waitress Patty was on the ball. We had a marvelous time. We were celebrating a birthday. Everyone was happy.
Thank you!
Prime rib and lobster tail specials were well worth a visit to this restaurant. Baked potato had been cooked much earlier as is often the case for busy restaurants with quick turnarounds of diners. Service was great except that food came too fast to the table - no time to finish a cocktail let alone salad/bread.
My prime rib was perfectly cooked and delicious. They had run out of the very popular chocolate tart despite the fact we had 6P dinner reservations. And on a Friday night!! Our server brought chocolate and vanilla ice creams with sauce on the house to compensate for our disappointment.
Would try here again but request slower food delivery.
The food was very good with very capable and a friendly wait staff. Service was prompt.
Good food and service. Very reasonable prices.
Great service, very good prime rib!
The place was dirty. It was very warm inside. This may be the summer time crowds that made this place
Dirty. Food on the ground, on the seats and menus. They have raised the price of the prime rib and lobster two times, 19.99, 24.99, now 29.99. I won’t eat there again in the summer months. Wait till mid week in winter.
The prime rib was EXCELLENT and VERY TENDER! The sourdough bread was fresh baked and also excellent. Gabriel and Narinder offered excellent service!
Service was good. Food was good. Drinks were priced right!!! Nice to have a casino on the premises!
We booked a reservation for our wedding anniversary. Usually we go to an upscale steakhouse but since just losing my job a few days prior decided to try saving some money. Big mistake, or at least at The Timbers. We didn’t realize it was at the Lakeside Inn, old and outdated, as was the interior of The Timbers. The minute we sat down we were fighting off several flies. Our server arrived some time later but was very sweet and friendly. Ordered our meals and a cocktail. The salads came and within moments so did our entree. I prefer to finish my salad before ever seeing my entree. Regardless, the meal looked decent, especially the prime rib and lobster tail. The smashed potatoes and carrots and broccoli were cold and seemed we’re sitting around awhile. My cocktail finally came when I was more than half done with my dinner. I quickly gulped it down just to get out of there and escape the pesky flies. The bread was good but I think what topped off the experience was the filthy apron and pants the food runner was wearing. Needless to say, will never return and do not recommend.
One of my favorite places. Great food, good drinks, they didn’t have Pinot Gris or a savougion blanc which was disappointing.
We go here when we are in Tahoe. This experience was disappointing. My meat was overcooked the waiter never came back to check on us. He came back to give us our check and asked how was everything was. I mentioned my meal was overcooked and he rudely said why didn't go tell me. I told him he never came by to check on us nor was he in visible sight to flag down and he just dismissed it.. I will go back but this was the poorest service I have ever had there
Wonderful meal & great service! It was rather warm and we did leave earlier than expected because of the inside temperature. Other than that, everything was good.
I made reservations for 4pm for a table in the bar (36) I received confirmation of this
reservation. When we got there we were seated at the table, given water and menus, and not checked on for 30 minutes. When my husband finally asked the bartender how we get service,
he said where we were seated didn't open until 5pm!! But he would call on a waiter to serve us.
I feel this is very poor service on the reservation side.
The casino is too smoky; need better air exchange.
Adequate, reasonably priced prime rib and starters.
Food came cold, lobster over cooked, even coffee after dinner was luke warm. Asked server to heat food, and came back missing some of the food.
Told manager and he seemed indifferent.
Gave two stars because breakfast following day was very good.
I was pleasantly surprised to find the food was very good at a fare price. The prime rib was perfect.
Great value for the prime rib and lobster dinner! We will return this trip.
