The lobster raviolo was great, with a generous helping of Maine lobster. The other apps we got (Brussels sprouts and buffalo fried shrimp were great.
My old fashioned came pink - I’ve rarely found someone who makes an authentic old fashioned, but I’ve never had one that was pink. The bartender also didn’t know the other bourbon drink I requested.
The s’mores molten chocolate lava cake... I’d pass on that next time.
Overall, the space was great and most of the food was great. I just didn’t care for the desert we ordered and I think the bar could have done better. This will also put a healthy dent in your wallet.
Food was excellent. My husband loves the buffalo shrimp and I always love the farm to table salad and the tuna dishes.
The tides is perfect for special occasions or casual night out dinner. While small, the menu has something for every taste. The location is beautiful; the ocean and beach are right across the street.
Food quality was good but preparation was ordinary. Service was friendly and attentive. Tables are very close so private conversations are limited.
Food is always great here, especially the Scallop and shrimp with lobster fried rice. Our server was super friendly. It can be a little warm when it's humid outside, but it was fine on our most recent visit. It's the best spot to have a cocktail on the porch listening to the ocean.
Lex was out waitress and food and service were outstanding.
Great recommendations from Lex and this was a good value, too!
Great food and wonderful staff. Highly recommend
Wonderful restaurant, ambience was coastal chic, food is excellent. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend!
Food was good but menu was surprise.. not crazy about Asian inspired with many dishes. Would have preferred new England, Maine inspired dishes without the Asian influence. Pricey for sure!!!! Not a place to go on regular basis.
One of my favorite places in Maine! Amazing view, cozy porch seating, delicious cocktails and wonderful food!
The food and ambiance are excellent! Always go there when in Kennebunkport.
We had a reservation for a table but were having so much time at the bar that we decided to stay there. Our meals were the best. Well thought out and delicious. Scottish salmon and grilled swordfish. We will be back the next time we visit the area.
Inconsistency marked our recent dinner at The Tides, especially regarding the food. Moving from best to worst: The Lobster Spring Roll was delicious, the Goose Rocks Beach Lobster Roll (cold) was good, and the Fish 'N Chips was mediocre-to-lousy (including the same uninspired fries that accompanied the Lobster Roll). Wine & beer choices were adequate, including a delious Lunch IPA from the Maine Beer Co. Seating was in a sun-porch style room facing the ocean, which was pleasant, but service was mediocre. With so many dining choices in the area, we'd be unlikely to return if we vacation in Kennebunkport region again.
Excellent food, lovely ambiance - a great evening by the beach.
Anniversary
Labor Day dinner with family. Great variety of choices and all 4 of us loved what we ordered. From Beef Sirloin to Tuna Poke, to clam cakes. Service excellent and we even lucked out with a parking spot behind the building. We could have walked but it was pouring rain... this was far from our first dinner and it will not be the last.. We will return..
Don't miss the blueberry pie dessert, tuna tartare & lobster spring rolls
The Tides Beach Club has it all: Delicious food, attentive & friendly service, beautiful location!
The menu offers a nice variety of options. Of course it's heavy on local seafood options. Our group enjoyed the lobster roll (both hot & cold- -loaded large chunks of tender, tasty lobster), the mussels (so succulent~) and swordfish wrap (tasty!). Definitely make reservations as this is a very popular spot given the limited options in this specific locale.
Beautiful setting, good food, service was a little spotty but fine
One of the best restaurant in the Kennebunkport vicinity. The Lazy Man lobster is a must! Cheers
Overall we were a little disappointed with our lunch. We were seated inside although there were open tables on the porch. The hostesses were a little preoccupied and did not appear to "read" diners facial expressions, or they didn't care to. Service was slow and it took a while for our lunches to arrive. The swordfish tacos and CAB sandwich were both very good. The highlight of the luncheon was the margaritas-delicious. Great view from the porch tables.
Very nice place for lunch near beach. Would get the tuna poke again. Hot lobster roll ok but cold one was better. Server very attentive.
I had made this reservation 1 month ago requesting a table by window
We arrived and were seated in the bar in a very tight table with people yelling in bar and standing next to our table
It was VERY noisy
I asked the hostess if we could sit out in the room overlooking water and she said there were no tables yet there were atleast 3 tables of two set up
They could have easily put two small tables together for our party of 4 adults - no attempt to accommodate us
Food was mediocre at best
I would not return
They need better management instead of a 19 year old running the reception desk
Tides was highly recommended by several sites as well as our hotel
Need to work on accommodating their guests!
Our server was excellent! Best part of dining at the Tides!
We have been vacationing at the TBC for the past 4 years and love the atmosphere. It is the best place for a lively atmosphere in KPT after the town spots close down. Great happy hour too with live Jazz on Sundays.
This old seaside favorite has been redone so that it is modern, yet still has the timeless sense always appreciated. The food is well cooked and expertly served.
Our food was delicious! The cocktails were delicious too!
Wonderful food. Excellent service. Beautiful setting!
The food and service were great as usual
Love this place! Beautiful setting and best drinks around.
Patrick our server was great! Personable and on top of service. I loved the lobster ravioli while others guests really enjoyed the tenderloin. Beautiful view of the beach!
We enjoy eating at Tides when we are in Maine and it never disappoints!
Wonderful meal and great service from Phoebe our server. Always a favorite. love the roasted lazy lobster
Wonderful seaside ambience! Felt as though I was on vacation even though I live close by. Food was great, service wonderful, especially James. I will be back often!
The food was goodbut not outstanding. The wait staff was amazing. She made our visit great. The food wasn't worth the price we paid.
We had a great meal, and the service was very good.
We were very happy to have a somewhat quiet table away from very active bar area.
The location of this restaurant is lovely. We had a table that looks out at the beach a cross the street. It took a long time until they came to take our order.
The waiter was fine. The bus staff was very attentive to our water glasses. The crab cakes were very good but the Caesar salad was just ok. The corn bread croutons were disappointing. They were a bit mushy and the taste was bland. My daughter got the warm lobster roll and noted that the bun was too soggy. Though she enjoyed the lobster meat.
We thought about staying for dessert but opted for a local take-out ice cream place.
Very pedestrian experience. Nothing special about the menu that would intrigue me to return - very uninspired. Only saving grace was their fried whole clams were excellent and I'd admit one of the better lobster rolls. I'm a big fan of the KRC group for their lodgings but this was a bite for a restaurant.
The food was excellent and well prepared. The service left much to be desired. Our server was very slow to initially come to the table and rarely checked back in over the course of the meal. Service was VERY slow. They also served the wrong meal to a member of our party and forgot to enter the order for one of our guests as well. We were very disappointed in our experience at The Tides Beach Club.
My friends and I booked a table for 9pm for the evening of July 4th. We had read good reviews about the place and were looking forward to a nice dinner. The restaurant has a very nice vibe and is quite at the upper end of the range. We ordered a cocktail and a snack to start with. 5 mins later our waitress came to take additional orders. We politely asked her to come back later as we were in no a rush. 5 mins later she came back, so we put the order through for 2 starters. We should have known better... Snacks and starters arrived before the cocktails. Given this, we were not going to rush to order our mains, but again our waitress seemed to have decided otherwise. I asked for a break, at which point only we were told the kitchen was going to close at 10pm. Given the prices and style of the place, I would have greatly appreciated to have been told before we started ordering. We ended up eating within the hour and left no tip (not something I have ever done since I moved to the US!). We didn't have a good experience, which is a shame given that the food, wine and the restaurant itself are actually pretty nice.
This is a marvelous restaurant with a great view on the outside porch. If you are lucky, you may spot a movie star like we did: Adrian Grenier.
