I went here for brunch and it was delicious! Our server was nice and attentive and the dining room was beautiful
Food was enjoyable. Menu posted online does not explicitly say there is a brunch buffet, nor does it state times. We had our reservation at 11:30 and told we could enjoy the buffet for half an hour. Had I known about the buffet, I would have booked an earlier reservation. Our waiter was very nice, but not as attentive as I would expect. Definitely would return.
We were a little disappointed because we weren’t expecting a pre-fix Valentine’s Day menu 2 days after Valentine’s Day. We booked our reservation through open table and it didn’t say anywhere that it was a valentines menu and no one called to confirm that we were okay with it. Menu was limited and I have a gluten allergy which limited the options even more. Service was speedy, we had 4 courses in an hour and 10 min. Food was good but not worth $70 per person.
Absolutely delicous food with attentive service provided! Beautiful restaurant which makes for a lovely ambience.
Crabcakes were wonderful!!
We absolutely LOVE The Terrace Room! From the wonderful staff to the delicious food, it never lets us down.
Great food great service great location!
Wonderful place for a business lunch or time catching up with a friend. The service is excellent, the setting is peaceful, the menu selections are very good, there are always new options, and the prices are reasonable.
We had to wait a very long time for our food to come out and the restaurant wasn’t even at capacity. Also they have got to change their napkins—almost every one in the restaurant had a dark suit or clothing on & ended up with lint all over their clothes. Even had a hard time getting lint off with an adhesive lint roller. It all did not come off.
Went for brunch but unfortunately the buffet is o Er at noon. Overall food and variety is good and the place is posh
Wonderful experience! Great venue for great food and drinks before a downtown show. The service was very prompt and well-timed. Our server had great wit and authenticity. The food was delicious! We even got coffee to go on the cold night :)
Such a beautiful Hotel with an excellent staff, so friendly and helpful. The terrace Room was beautiful and the staff was attentive, friendly and spot on! The food was wonderful. We had both Dinner and Breakfast both were very good. The buffet breakfast was exceptional.
We went here for restaurant week and were not impressed. Everything sounded so good but the preparation was just off. The waiter acted like we could not split 9 ounces of wine, but then after giving us our 6 ounces each, showed us the carafe the 9 ounces comes in, so we absolutely could have shared. We both had the lamb loin wellington that sounded amazing but was not good. Will not be going back.
We had an exceptional time and our waiter was wonderful!
Everything was great..... Our server Nicholas was the best. Knew how to space our courses out so we could enjoy everything. We will ask for him next time too!!!!!
First time there - will come back. Not crowded at all, good service. Dinners of salmon and chicken were very good. Cheesecake dessert was lacking.
New Year's Eve dinner was excellent, even for a prix-fixe menu - good options, all well presented and with great flavor. Service was friendly and attentive, not rushed, and offered good suggestions.
Great service, great environment. Not too loud for a New Year’s Eve crowd for dinner which was nice
We had a lovely New Years Eve experience at the Terrace Room. So glad we ventured downtown in the rain!
A special treat on New Years eve. The food and service was excellent. The special menu was varied and reasonably priced for the multi course meal.
Breakfast buffet didn't live up to expectations. Biscuits hard, eggs unremarkable, gravy was sweet, sausage chewy, fruit unripe, items not labeled.
No what it used to be!!! Service very poor. Long wait for food. Some service couldn't understand.
Childs food came and was completely eaten and finished and we had not received our entrees.
Surprisingly mediocre. Service was unimpressive and not actually interested in serving us--no guidance on the menu, no refills of water, no knowledge of the wine list. We were oddly hurried, when they weren't nearly full.
Food was only okay and very overpriced considering. I asked for my filet medium rare, and it was nearly well done. I was also disappointed that although the restaurant was half empty, at most, they still crammed us on a couch against the wall with 2 other couples. We were so close I could have eaten off their plates.
It's a lovely location, but that's what you're paying for. If you're looking for a good meal, go elsewhere.
Had tickets for the ballet at 7. Ordered food and 45 minutes later, told waiter that we had a 7:00 curtain. Brought children’s food but not the adults. Finally told him at 640 to cancel the order as we would not be able to eat it. He then brought out the entrees; a table behind us with several more people had been served their entrees even though they were seated at the same time. Whatever the mix up, it was very disappointing and not the experience we hoped it would be.
The Terrace Room is a Pittsburgh classic. I was there in my 30's and I was there in my 60's with my husband and millennial daughter. Fun, good food, memorable occasion for all, and will be there again to enjoy very fine cooking, perfect wines, and really expert and warm service from experienced staff.
We have dined at the Terrace many times and this time the hotel had changed its tables to accommodate "no linens." The chairs which were from the old tables did not match the table height comfort level as the new tables were higher than the old ones. Normally, fine dining restaurants have table cloths and appropriate napkins. The Omni William Penn Terrace Restaurant charged the "menu price for fine dining" but did not provide the requisite accommodations one would expect. Additionally, the quality of the food seems to be less each time we visit for special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. Due to the lack of table cloths, appropriate napkins and overall quality of the food, we plan to scout elsewhere for future dining for special occasions.
We had a lovely meal, food was delicious and the surroundings beautiful. Our waiter was superb (please tell him). We had our disabled mother with us with a broken wrist. The waiter was so attentive and helped her with her food. He was just so pleasant and a real gem!!!. I will come back for more dinners in the future. Keep up with wonderful standard of dining.
Couldn’t add a 5th person although multiple tables were open
Doesn’t answer phone - have to play phone tag multiple times
Restaurant did not acknowledge arrival
Toward our open table points
Food and service great
Would go back for food and for wait staff
They get 5 stars
always a wonderful holiday meal - has become a family tradition with us !
I enjoyed the meal and the friendly service, it made my Christmas merry.
If I could give the Terrace Room zero stars, I would. I had booked Christmas Breakfast at the Terrace Room for my parents and my family, thinking it would be a special holiday breakfast. When we arrived, the Terrace Room employees told us our reservation was NOT at the Terrace Room. We were directed to a hotel conference room on the mezzanine called the Lawrence Welk Room.
The Lawrence Welk room was beige and not decorated for the holidays -- a far cry from the festively decorated Terrace Room. The breakfast was a hotel buffet set up in the corner, also not what we expected. When I told the hostess that it wasn't what we had booked, she called the manager and told him, "These people want to eat in the Terrace Room because this isn't elegant enough for them."
I was surprised by the snide comment because we'd been calm and polite. I calmly told them that the issue wasn't elegance, but that we hadn't booked the Lawrence Welk room -- we'd booked a table for six at the Terrace Room. We had wanted to order from a menu, not eat at a buffet. The manager said we were out of luck -- there was no room at the Terrace Room. He offered to let us sit in the lobby and order room service. Needless to say, hotel room service wasn't we wanted on Christmas morning!
We ended up leaving and found another place for breakfast, but beware if you book here. You may not get a meal at the Terrace Room and also deal with staff that's snide or unhelpful.
I reserved a table for a family dinner at 8:30 pm on Christmas Eve. However, the restaurant was closed beginning at 2:00 pm on Christmas Eve. No one called to say that the restaurant was closed. We were able to find another restaurant for dinner. One star for no food and poor service.
A classic. Wait staff very tenured which says a lot. Recent move to marble table tops v white tablecloths tbd. Not bad, but ambience and tradition call for crisp white linen. If changes are limited to that, they can retain the classic ambiance. Our annual lunch there is A favorite holiday tradition when I am in town.
My friends and I had a great time here for brunch! Loved the food and the holiday decor in the hotel lobby.
Always love coming to the Terrace Room with my family for Sunday breakfast. One of the most beautiful dining rooms in all of Pittsburgh.... and the staff and food are always great!
We came to celebrate the holiday season. We had a lovely meal. I always think the food is good, but overpriced. I guess that’s the downfall of eating in a hotel restaurant.
I was unable to attend with the group this year but I love the Terrace Room. Sorry I missed it.
Attended brunch on Sunday. The restaurant was understaffed with only one waiter rushing about, literally at times running, to each table. The food was poor quality for the price, over cooked and not worth the price. I've been here before and something was definitely off. I will not be returning to this hotel or restaurant again.
You can't beat The Terrace Room for a festive holiday meal or get together. The Omni has stepped it up, and this Traditional Grand Dame dining go to rings all the bells and whistles. Service is impeccable, and the wine bar is a favorite watering hole.
