My husband and I came here for dinner before a theater show. The room is grand and gorgeous, and we had a lovely time. I had the cauliflower "steak" with smashed redskin potatoes and spinach. Thank you so much for offering a vegetarian option. My husband had a Caesar salad and the shrimp/sausage gumbo. Both of our meals were excellent. The dessert (grilled peaches and panne cotta) was a huge disappointment. The plating was lovely, but the peaches seemed to be canned and they were burnt. Did not have a good flavor at all. It was a disappointing end to a beautiful and tasty meal, but we didn't let it bother us. We felt that our meal was a good value for the money. My husband remarked that his vodka martini was prepared perfectly. Our server was kind and friendly without being overbearing. The pace of the meal was spot on, but it took a little while to get our check at the end of the evening. We had to ask for us. The Terrace Room is a historic, classic Pittsburgh gem. Try it out
Ernesto was a great server! He showed us around and gave us a history of the hotel. We loved it!
Service was excellent from the concierge of the restaurant and the waitstaff. The place is jaw dropping in its beauty. I had a special lunch for my sister for her birthday and she was thrilled. She had the ravioli with peas and I had the farm to table buffet...very fine food! Nice wine and splendid dessert.
This restaurant is typically one of our favorites. We chose it for pre-Elton John concert dining. I understand the restaurant was overwhelmed, but they knew what and who was coming. One hour after ordering, our entrees were not served and we had to leave without eating. I cannot fault our server. The Restaurant Manager handled the issue poorly.
As usual, wait staff was extremely friendly and responsive. Food was excellent - and a very good place for a business lunch!
Staff were over the top attentive. Meals were well
Prepared and presented. A great place in the heart of Pittsburgh for a nice dinner.
Elegant and formal, but dress code is casual, no T-shirts, ball caps or shorts. Food is excellent and modestly priced. Service is top notch.
While the buffet was very good, the service was poor. After being seated by the hostess, it took over 10 minutes for our waiter to welcome us. Did not meet our expectations.
After we asked another waiter for refills he took upon himself to make sure we were taken care of and checked on us frequently. Our waiter that originally took our orders brought our wrong drinks and then never came back. We noticed he was busy either behind the waiter area talking or going back into kitchen and walking around talking to Staff. He returned to bring our check. So he only attended to our table twice. I felt horrible for other waiter because I didn’t want him having the tip. We had had dinner the night before in the Terrace and the service was beyond great. Overall minus this one server I’d recommend the Terrace and will be back.
surprisingly, the coffee was not as hot as I would have expected. It took a while to get the waiter to come back so I could request a hot cup. Then it took the waiter considerable time to bring me a hot cup. I think the waiter actually forgot about my request.
We didn’t realize but it was restaurant week...the food was absolutely delicious and so well prepared!!
Another enjoyable lunch at the Terrace Room. As always, the food was delicious and service was excellent--Albert is the best.
Always a lovely place to take out of town visitors and friends.
The food was divine and the service outstanding without being intrusive. Nicolas was our waiter and was very pleasant. We will definitely come back and recommend it
The food is phenomenal and the service was on point.
We went for our 21st Anniversary after reading a lot of good reviews on Trip Advisor and because the menu says they have slow roasted prime rib every Friday and Saturday. We had reservations for Friday, July 27 at 7:30 made through Open Table. When we ordered we were told since they were hosting a big party later, there would be no Prime Rib. We were very disappointed. Our waiter - the only good thing about this place - returned after we placed our order for two of the specials of the day (Bronzini) said he pressed the chef into making the Prime Rib. Well, the Prime Rib showed up as a grossly overdone piece of meat reminiscent of dried out roast beef. The Bonzini was so over-cooked as to be cardboard. For all of this deliciousness -NOT, we paid nearly $100. Also, we were told by our waiter that the kitchen would be closed for the restaurant at 7:00 - our reservations were made for 7:30 but we arrived early, but what it we had shown up on time? I daresay we would have been better off.I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The next day we went to the The Commoner, a small restaurant attached to the Hotel Monaco which is right next door to the Omni's Terrace Room.
Wonderful! Excellent prime rib special.
We had a fantastic meal with great service. The only negative I can comment on is we were celebrating a birthday, which I made the restaurant aware of when I made the reservation, however nothing special was done. That was disappointing.
My husband and I were in town for a concert. My sister recommended the Terrace Room for our evening in Pittsburgh. The dining room was spacious and warm. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Our dinner was absolutely delicious! My husband had the crab cakes and I had the filet. Both were prepared perfectly. We will definitely go back when we are town again.
Thank you to our server and the staff. I had to guest from out of town and was so proud to show them the place that I live.
Birthday lunch. Nice atmosphere for conversation
The service is phenomenal
Great service and excellent food. The crab cakes were among the best I have had anywhere. Highly recommend.
We have been going to the terrace room for over 14 years and the only reason for not rating it 5 stars is the wine price; food selection was excellent - good accommodation of vegetarians; wine prices were out of this world; over 17 dollars for a 9 ounce pour; overall bill was over 170 dollars for two, including tip; would go there again, but not as often as we used to;
Excellent food and service. A unique atmosphere and beautiful architecture.
The food never disappoints and the waiters they're all interesting characters and good conversationalists!
Awesome service. Food top quality. Crab cakes amazing.
The servers could spend a little less time chit chatting, especially when you are waiting for your check. Before and during the meal there was no problem but when you are finished and want to leave they need to keep an eye out for that.
Stayed overnight and front desk and staff were very helpful and friendly. Historical hotel was pleasant. Room comfortable. Dinner had gumbo that was excellent and a tasty burger.
We went here for Sunday Brunch to celebrate my daughter's confirmation. There were 4 people in our party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I think each one of us ate nearly every bite! There was only one minor frustration when the bill came and we noticed that the coffee and orange juice they immediately offered us were $5 each! We had 2 coffees and 4 juices which was a $30 increase to our bill. The way is was so casually offered as soon as we sat (one carafe in each hand of the waiter) we thought it was a part of the brunch. We certainly didn't mind having to pay for what we drank, but it wouldn't have been such a surprise if the price had been more reasonable and it had been more clearly explained.
Went with friends and we had a great time. Food was excellent, wine choices were good, and the dessert was yummy.
The Cedar Plank Faroe Island Salmon entree was fabulous. The salmon was grilled to perfection, and was --hands down -- the best I ever tasted.
First of all, I found a last minute opening for Mothers Day brunch on Open Table, however, it turns out that the reservation was NOT actually for The Terrace Room, but for the breakfast buffet on the 17th floor. This was very misleading and should be clearly stated on Open Table. Luckily, they had a table available for our party in the actual restaurant and we were able to have brunch. Overall, the service was fantastic and the staff were very helpful and professional. However, the food was not up to the usual standard and was disappointing at best. Maybe because it was a preset brunch menu and a busy morning, because this was the first time we had a subpar experience.
Surprisingly average Sunday Buffet
No carving or unique items.
Average, or less
Josh is the best waiter.. He will recommend food for your liking. He is always courteous, polite and knows his menu and drinks........
We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and truly enjoyed both.
Stunning ambience. Nice large round table which enabled nice conversation. Felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant.
Food was blah at a very high price. Went there for a birthday dinner and will not go back for a special occasion.
The restaurant is beautiful and the menu is also very good. The service was less than stellar. It seemed as though the the restaurant was well understaffed. It took 15 minutes before our waiter came over to us and then it took a while to get a drink. Then he was gone again. I bet he was covering 8+ tables. Dinner was very good and I'd certainly go back because the food was the saving grace. The wine list is very reasonable and there are a lot of choices under $50.
