About The Terrace - Mission Hill Family Estate Winery
Overlooking rows of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay set against the Okanagan Lake, our outdoor Terrace Restaurant complements our wine’s natural affinities with cuisine that is locally, sustainably, and seasonally sourced. By growing much of our own produce in the estate Varietal Garden and working hand-in-hand with local farmers, we are able to provide a spectacular culinary experience highlighting the bountiful ingredients & world-class wines that characterize this region.
By partnering with local farmers, our menu continuously evolves to incorporate the freshest ingredients. Similar to our philosophy in the vineyards, we have a firm belief in sustainable and bio-dynamic agricultural practices, including local foraging, organic farming, and the Vancouver Aquarium’s OceanWise program. Even our own honeybees help sustain the estate gardens while providing wildflower honey to be used by our culinary team.

The Terrace - Mission Hill Family Estate Winery Ratings and Reviews
I arranged to have a business lunch at the Terrace restaurant with a colleague from Edmonton becasue I knew the views were spectacular to match the food experience. It did not disappoint - the food, the service, the views and ambiance were outstanding. There was an energy of carefree enjoyment on the patio and clear that everyone present was enjoying the whole experience. I have come here on a few occassions in the past and it is always a delight!
The staff clearly understand the dishes they are serving with detailed descriptions of each course and the wine pairings spot on!
The pear tart for dessert was the ultimate finish!
It was all very good. I loved the extra little 'dining experience' items,,the nectarine juice with oil as a palate cleanser,,,nice touch. A bit disappointed with my entree. I ordered halibut and although the ham served with it was a nice different approach I would have preferred more halibut. A good all around experience and I would recommend dinner here for someone wanting more than just dinner or lunch. See you again one day!
We had enjoyed all previous occasions at the Terrace and were looking forward to
The Taster's menu was exceptional in every regard. We were introduced to combinations of flavours and textures that we might not otherwise consider. All courses were beautifully presented; the Prawn Sabayon left a definite positive impression. The accompanying wines were well matched and led us to new varieties. As we have an Estate Winery in our neighbourhood we look forward to enjoying the new wines in our home.
The service and presentation of each course complemented the high calibre of the dishes served. Descriptions and backgrounds of each course were conveyed with insight that reflected the server's knowledge of and appreciation of the food being served.
We enjoyed the service of one primary server assisted on occasion by three colleagues all of whom added to a very pleasant evening.
The natural setting is beautiful and needs no description; the overall atmosphere of the Terrace is quiet and peacefully welcoming. We will return.
The view from the terrace is absolutely stunning. That said, the atmosphere was - disappointingly - reminiscent of a high school cafeteria (although, at $26 for a burger, the prices certainly weren't).
The luncheon menu itself was also limited and quite peculiar. My companions and I were hard pressed to find something that appealed.
For anyone looking for an amazing dining experience at a winery, however, I would have no hesitation recommending Quail's Gate.
Appetizers beef carpaccio, farm greens, and foie gras we ordered were fantastic in terms of taste, presentation and portions. (Sorry little geese) The icewine marinated foie gras was the best to me.
The only down side for food was all main courses we tried were a bit salty, we still enjoy each dish's flavours, otherwise I will give a 5-stars. Already told the server and hope they will do adjustment.
For the riesling I picked is so expensive when compare to the retail price at the gift shop the winery is selling, but I still love it, so I bought another two bottles later to make myself feel better.
It was our first time dining at Mission Hill and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From the first greeting to the end of the evening the service was warm, attentive and personalized. Our waiter was outstanding and added to the enjoyment of the evening. The food was delicious. We did have a situation where our special request to make a dish vegetarian by omitting the bacon was missed by the kitchen, and after eating some of the dish I realized that there was bacon. Our waiter and the other staff handled it exceptionally well and my only concern was that it was stated "the kitchen is certain that no bacon was added". Well, that's just not the case and to say that is saying that I am not being truthful. However, the rest of the staff were incredibly attentive and my husband and I appreciate the service recovery and left as happy customers that look forward to our next return.
The total experience of food and scenery was exceptional. We had our 9 month grandson with us and the staff was excellent with him as well as serving the adults.
The food was delicious and the pace of service was perfect, not rushed.
We had time to enjoy the food as well as the beautiful scenery.
It wad a memorable family time together.
We booked an hour long wine tour which was informative and well presented. We then went to Terrace Restaurant (where we had reservations, always a good idea to reserve in advance for this place). We started off with the red wine flight: Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Merlot. All the wines were wonderful, especially the Syrah. We had the duck fois gras as an appetizer then I ordered the Duck Magret with srouted beans, baked beets, Chef's special Duck Parfait washed down with a glass of Pinot Noir. My partner had the Angus Rib Eye, smoked shallot mayo, garlic mushrooms top with beef jus. Everything was amazing!! Duck was cooked perfectly and the Rib Eye melted in the mouth! The other thing is all the food served at Terrace Restaurant is either grown on Mission Hill Estate or Local. Service was wonderful and the manager Adam even went as far as to send me an email with the recipes for our meals! Definitely a place worth visiting if you are in the Kelowna area.
Compared to the other winery restaurants in the vicinity, mission hill misses the mark. Especially considering the time, money and effort put into everything else on the property.
While the view and venue are second to none, and the wine is great the food is underwhelming in comparison.
would still recommend if you are a visitor to kelowna, but just dont get your hopes up for a culinary revelation. Its more of something to check of your kelowna to do list.
Beautiful location and view, great service and ambiance. I had been looking forward to it due to its reputation, and the food was really good, but I admit I was disappointed - I was expecting pretty phenomenal given what I had heard in the press and from others. I am lucky to travel a lot and eat in some great restaurants, and I would return for the view and the wine, but for the prices and portions, would likely go for another meal elsewhere. The octopus (appy) was great, and the fish was lovely, but the 3-4 pieces of duck breast were overcooked and underwhelming. Perhaps I'd focus on the appetizers to share in future.
Our server, though, was attentive, fun and engaging and the view is likely unsurpassed in the area.
We had to wait about 5 minutes until our table was ready. Then we were promptly seated and our water glasses were filled immediately. Within minutes our server Travis was there explaining the menu and pairing of wines. We chose the roasted scallops and artic char along with the glasses of the reserve reisling. The food was done to perfection that even the show 'master chef' would have been proud of.
Our server Travis was at our Beck and call during the meal. We could hear him explaining to the next table about the cheese platters and the wine pairings. What great knowledge. We found him to be very knowledgeable and with a great personalities
The restaurant was absolutely beautiful with a stunning view. Our server was wonderful. I had a difficult time understanding the menu and she explained it all in detail. She was very knowledgeable. I ordered the vegetarian linguine and I highly recommend it!! We had gone here for our anniversary and I am so glad to have went there. The staff was so friendly and the environment was cozy and romantic.
We were able to get a reservation on Open Table very quickly the night we arrived in Kelowna. we were a bit disappointed to find the tasting room closed when we arrived (after 8), but wandered the scenic grounds until our reservation. From the get-go staff were attentive. They tried to fit us in early, but no spots were available.
It was a warm, clear night, so the outdoor seating was most enjoyable. Our server was perhaps a little too attentive/chatty, but knew the wine list and menu well
Our food was served promptly and was hot and flavourful, although my pasta was under the heat lamp a wee bit too long, but yummy nonetheless. The Okanagan char was prepared nicely
We skipped dessert, but the selection as well as the cheese list was very tempting.
Not an inexpensive place to dine, but a beautiful setting and great food make it a nice splurge.
We travel to Kelowna the same time every year to celebrate my mother's birthday and our anniversary and it goes without saying that we always reserve lunch at The Terrace to start the weekend. The care and attention given by all the staff, and the wonderful meals and wine make this event even more special for us.
Thank you for making this something for us to look forward to year after year.
We had the pleasure of dining at the terrace for our 10 year wedding anniversary. The food was outstanding and the best part was we had the chance to meet Chef Chris. He was delightful and super approachable. He provided us with smaller plates of the appies and they were all fantastic!! Plus we shared the linguine, talk about flavourful, light and perfectly balanced. Truly one of the best meals we have had. The service was also wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed the peach tart as recommended. Thanks!! Tyler & Kara
Amazing location, service and food. However meal wine pairings should be available for one person I was very disappointed to not be able to have this experience as my guest did not want to do it. Menu is a bit bland for options. ..
All seats should be able to see the view our two seater had me with my back to the view.
My wife and I have an 18month old and are not able to dine out very often. While visiting my wifes parents, we got the opportunity to have a date night and picked Terrace and what a great night we had. Fantastic food, great suggestions from the waiter and wine steward... all while watching one of the best views in the Okanagan. We'll go back for sure.
The wonderful view from this restaurant is well complimented by the excellent food and wine. However, our whole experience was marred by the long wait to get seated, in spite of having a timed reservation, and again we had a long wait for our server to show up and introduce himself.
We were by no means the only people in this situation which is unacceptable for a high end restaurant. Since we had a late booking we were unable to take advantage of the wine shop or walk around the vineyards since they were both closed by then.
This is the perfect restaurant for a romantic night out with a great view and ambiance. Professional service and server was able to answer any question and make suggestions regarding the pairing of the wine and food. Overall it was a perfect and relaxing visit and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Went with my husband for our anniversary - loved it!! Mission Hill is absolutely stunning and the setting is incredibly romantic.
Our server was lovely and very attentive. The food was very good; probably not *quite* as good as some top-notch restaurants I've been to elsewhere, but still excellent. They accommodated special dietary needs very well - I'm vegan, and they made me a nice vegan pasta.
Try the suggested wine-food pairings - they know what they're doing!
Our lunch dining experience was lovely and intimate. The views were spectacular! Beautiful scenic views of the winery; the stunning Okanagan lake view as well as the architectural buildings. We had the fois gras appetizer, very smooth and delicious. Main course, ordered the roasted scallops - a very tasteful dish, everything cooked to perfection and very light dish; paired with the suggested 2013 Martin Lanes Reisling. Husband had the shrimp pasta - good portion-sized dish and not overwhelmingly heavy. For dessert, had the peach tarte - delicate peach flavours; this is a favorite! Thank you for the lunch experience!
