Some of New England’s most acclaimed cuisine is found at The Terrace at The Charlotte Inn. Classic American cuisine showcases many ingredients from Martha’s Vineyard’s own farms and seas, and its bounty of local gardens. Sumptuous meals are presented amidst stunning surroundings. Whether it is by flickering candlelight in the glass-paned conservatory dining room, or beneath the stars on a terrace enclosed by ivy-covered lattice, there is no more romantic or elegant setting in which to enjoy an evening. The Terrace serves dinner to the public nightly in season; this setting is most appropriate for adults and children over the age of 14 as to ensure a quiet, romantic setting for our guests. Having run the Relais & Chateaux hotel for over 40 years, The Charlotte Inn is delighted to now own and operate The Terrace. Executive Chef Justin Melnick has quickly established a dedicated following of regular guests, and is a must-try restaurant for anyone visiting Martha's Vineyard.

I booked this place for our first wedding anniversary and the food from the appetizers to the main course till the desert that came out was exquisite.

The staff was super friendly and the chef did an amazing job with my fillet mignon.

Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Martha’s Vineyard

The dining room is an eclectic mix of foliage, art and memorabilia. From the moment you arrive in the door you enjoy this beautiful structure. We were asked if we would like to enjoy a drink by the fireplace, but chose to go directly to our table. Wait staff is pleasant, informative and accommodating. The off season Prix Fixe Menu had something to please most everyone. Since it changes weekly I won't go into details of our choices, but will say that nothing disappointed. A wonderful experience and we will certainly return when visiting Martha's Vineyard.

I was disappointed that the amount of food was so small. I actually went home hungry. It is too bad as I really like this venue. I have been here several times in the past and I have not had this problem. I hope they can improve.

It is actually hard to put this experience into words. They are aiming for "proper" according the the hostess. The place is quite stuffy - with a great deal of effort put into being arrogant. The place was deafeningly quiet and that is what they are working towards and are successful. Our waiter "James" tried to put a little lift into our dining experience - thanks James!!!

The food was OK. The skirt steak was beyond tough - but the scallops were cooked perfectly!! Albeit scallops on a butternut squash purée with fresh apple salad was just weird to me.
