Pleasantly surprised by how nice it is there. Food was very good. Nice bar. Would definitely return.
Oddly, since it was busy, our meal was mediocre and the service very poor. We were disappointed....
We were received with a warm greeting at the door, and friendly service at the table. The ambience, food, and service were great! The only reason why I get four stars is because the food coming out of the kitchen was very slow… Otherwise the seafood risotto, the shrimp cocktail, and the lobster fettuccine were superb! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting an intimate dinner with a spouse or with family and friends.
Lunch with two friends. Had dining room to ourselves. Food was great. I had portobello sandwich. A great experience
We were in town for a brief visit and wanted a convenient, local place and this was perfect. Historical ambiance, generous meal, interesting beer on tap and a charming waiter/bartender.

Starting with no one greeting us upon entry things went down hill. Eventually a nice woman did come out and found our reservation although she commented on how things were "disorganized out here". Perhaps she was comparing it to the separate bar?
Then a man approached dressed in beaten jeans and an untucked shirt who informed us he would be taking care of us. Took my wife's wine order. Reappeared later through a mysterious door in the room and left without closing it. Later asked if we wanted bread. Eventually took our order. Delivered salads which we did not like. Brought main courses. Undercooked salmon for her, nice scallops for me although the potatoes could use more heat.
Eventually the room filled up and we watched a number of men and women in dirty jeans serving the diners.
Not a great experience.
Quiet Sunday night. Earnest and helpful server. Simple food well prepared.
After an unpleasant first experience where after a long wait of 1-1/2 hours for a simple cheeseburger that arrived totally raw, at the urgency of the manager, we decided to give it another try with friends. One friend got the burger and again, it was raw. The server (with hat on) was clueless and rarely seen. Wine and beer refills were hard to obtain. The bacon crab truffle mac and cheese, which was the only item that was edible on our first trip, was changed to include red pepper flakes by the chef (not noted on the menu) was not eaten by my wife as she cannot have spicy foods. The manager, Kathy, was very nice and again, apologetic for everything. Will we go back? No.
We sat in the dining room, where the food and service were very good. Next time (and there will be a next time), we'll eat in the tavern area, a bit more lively and fun. The dining room ambience was dated and too quiet for our group of 6.
One of the worst restaurants in a long time. Chicken over cooked and super dry, stuffed shrimp fishy tasting, fish swimming in some kind of sauce.
