The Teahouse Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We loved our experience at The Teahouse tonight. The service was really great — water was always full, lots of bread offered and we were given a lot of attention to detail. We came here for dineout — everything we ordered was great!! Can’t go wrong with the entire menu. We also added the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious as well. We didn’t have a good experience in the past but tonight definitely made a good comeback! We will definitely return in the future.
Beautiful setting facing the water. Lovely ambiance and great historical house and history if the server can give you some details. Professional server and food is overall good. I was with a group of six through Dine Out for lunch. We ordered both from the Dine Out and also their brunch menu. I had the celery salad, seafood mix entree, and also the chocolate brownie type of cake (names not exact). I had a taste of my friend's Eggplant & Kale entree and Butternut Squash soup and also Creme Caramel. They were all good and timed well in terms of cooking just to the right amount of time.
Dinner exceeded expectations when we out-of-towners arrived a bit early for our New Years Eve dinner reservation. Beautiful setting, excellent staff, cheerful fireplace and comfortable surroundings. We chose from the a la carte menu since the special prix fixe New Years Eve menu seemed like too much, and enjoyed great Caesar salad, the best rack of lamb we’ve ever had, perfectly done vegetables, and a bottle of wine recommended by our server.
Service was the best part of our dining experience. We brought our 1 year old son for a 5pm meal on NYE. The server was very attentive to all of our needs are parents dining with children to anticipating baby sized eating utensils, to a little teacup with water and a straw and mindful placement of the high chair and items on the table (i.e. out of reach of baby). I haven't run into many servers who are that intuitive. Without even asking, they brought him a balloon from their celebration decorations. As for the food, the portions were generous (for a place that classified as finer dining). However, our salmon was a little over cooked and the amuse-bouche (mushroom arancini) was barely warm and honestly tasted like and had the texture of a mushroom flavoured tater-tot. Unfortunately, I don't feel like it was executed well. However, all other flavours were delicious and dishes well done!
I visited the Tea house restaurant with my Husband on Christmas day in the evening.
We were a little early, but were promptly seated. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious! Amazing flavours in the soup and the prime rib was to die for! The palette cleanser was brought mid way through the prime rib, but was still welcome!
I was not very fond of the dessert, and found it a little disappointing, but apart from that, it was excellent. We hope to return next Christmas day with our whole family.
We brought our daughter and son-in-law, who were visiting from Seattle, to the Tea House for Christmas Eve dinner. The location of the restaurant, the décor of the room, the delicious food, served by Phil, who has a lovely manner, all added up to the perfect dining experience. Thank you!
Great brunch. The smoke salmon raft is delicious. The omelette was a bit too cheesy for me but i don’t usually eat lots of cheese. The cremé brulee is a good choice for dessert. We had a nice table by the window. The place was not noisy so it’s quite cozy. The only downside is the location which is not so close to public transport.
The omelet was delicious and nicely proportioned--ample without overload. The only drawback was that the restaurant becomes quite noisy once it fills up (especially the newer, glass section. It was difficult for everyone in our party to hear all of the conversation. Robert, our waiter, was attentive to all our needs and help us move to a quieter location once our meal was finished. Thank you, Robert.
Our server seemed a little annoyed by every request we had. The overall service was not very attentive and we had to ask for a couple things.
Unfortunately while we still had our food the crew started bringing tables outside and opend the door for a long time so the whole room completely cooled down and it was really uncomfortable to sit.
We kinda felt unwelcome, due to the open door and the noises from taking down tables.
