A little more training needed for the tea service.
Took a long time for everything. No one seated until we asked. Only 2 other tables when we ordered breakfast and it took a long time. Omelets where served to the wrong people which you can't tell until you start to eat it.
Took forever to the waiter to return with the credit card.
Will never go back.
The service left much to be desired. The food was tasty and well prepared. We have had better service in past dinners at this restaurant. The best service was when it was The Coure de Leon.
We had afternoon high tea at the Henley Park Hotel-wodedul service and the food was delicious! Delectable scones and pastries!
Highly recommend for high tea!
Our food was delicious (main dish better than salads) and the service was helpful and attentive.
The Convention Center area is filled with a lot of high energy and octane eateries, if you want to escape those for a quiet and comfortable meal - this is the place. Menu is basic but creative. We had the well sauced shrimp appetizer and a crab cake and a pasta dish, both were good. Staff was attentive and not concerned with turning tables. Good cocktail and wine list, so plenty of options to relax from 15,000 conventioneers.
The food and service is always excellent at Tavern at Henley Park. It is a true dining gem.
We picked the coldest weekend in years to visit DC with a group of friends. Due to the extreme cold, we cancelled our dinner reservation at another restaurant and elected to have dinner at the hotel. Good decision. The food was delicious- try the lamb chops if you can- the prices reasonable, the service excellent and the pours from the bar generous. We wound up eating breakfast on both days as well and had lots of choices from both the Lite Fare and Full Breakfast menus.
We picked the restaurant for its convenience, but would definitely return for the food.
Outstanding atmosphere and service. Our waiter Raul was excellent . Pricing was very reasonable.
Ordered the soup of the day and waitstaff informed me the soup was not ready yet, so I cancelled the soup order. I wanted it out first, with time to digest before eating my meal. Ordered the burgers and fries. Delicious! Very neat, and historic old place. In the future, we would like to try the Teatime.
My expectations were highly exceeded! I treated my mother to Holiday tea and we had a wonderful experience. For years we have had tea at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson's as our fancy, holiday tradition. The afternoon tea at the Henley was just as great and almost better than our past experiences at the Ritz. We thought we were going to be seated in the atrium dining area, but instead we were seated in the elegant parlor with a full couch and lounging chair with the 12' decorated Christmas tree! Outstanding! Our servers were also very attentive and hospitable. We will surely be back at the Henley!
Wonderful place to celebrate Christmas with an afternoon tea for girls and their moms.
Nice breakfast in a beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and attentive. Service was good. Quiet attmosphere. Very enjoyable experience.
My wife & I had Thanksgiving dinner at The Tavern, but I enjoyed my meal more than my spouse. I had the rack of lamb which was prepared perfectly (medium rare) & the accompanying asparagus & potato au gratin complimented the meal nicely. My wife chose the traditional route & had the turkey, stuffing, & mashed potatoes, all of which disappointed her. She said the turkey was dry, the cornbread stuffing tasted like it was out of a box, & the mashed potatoes did not have any gravy on them. Other than that, The Tavern is a beautiful spot & we both agreed we want to return & try their regular menu
We went there for the Thanksgiving brunch expecting it to be quite nice for the high fixed price. The food and service were good overall, but for $55/person they served us only 3 slices of white meat turkey and no dark meat at all, along with a few sides. The quality was decent but the men left the table hungry and when we saw the bill, it was: Wow! We can't believe they would have the gall to charge that much for less turkey than you would get on a sandwich!!
We travel to DC for an annual meeting and this was our second trip to the restaurant. We love the quaint atmosphere and the chance for relaxed conversation over a delicious meal. The pork chops were excellent, as was the salmon. Delicious soup! Very attentive--but never intrusive--wait staff. We'll plan to return on our next trip!
The tea was wonderful, but the food was underwhelming. It was quiet and a nice space to catch up, but not very special.
Wonderful atmosphere close to the Convention center.
Got there in the afternoon and were told that High tea doesn’t start until 2. So they accommodated us in the mean time. We ordered a Eggs Benedict to share and tea. The tea was Luke warm and we didn’t get a refill on the water until our high tea was practically over. The water went from Luke warm to cold fairly quickly with the weather. The scones were made fresh, outside of that, the rest of the pastries were old. The crust on the tart was soggy. A cute location for a high tea, just didn’t meet the standard that was expected
Our meal was hot and delicious! It was close to the Newseum and we had no trouble finding parking on a Saturday. We will definitely be going back when we visit DC and we also checked into getting a room there the next time also.
Fairly decent food, but the place was virtually deserted. 7pm dinner with a total of 3 tables occupied. Lovely old building, but not worth the price
Beautiful old hotel dining room with excellent service and outstanding food.
Lovely place, nice food, poor service! While the food was fine, the Henley lovey & well appointed, the service was poor. Only one waiter was handling the bar and dining room, with the support of two "bus" employees. He had his hands full, and kept a good attitude but twice, customers came and stood by his work area to get the bill. We were given the bill before being asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. No wine list was ever provided. It took 10+ minutes and 2 requests to get lemon for our water. It's a real shame because the food was well prepared, the dining room is simply lovely, and even better, quiet enough so that conversation is easy. Management needs to pay some attention to staffing.
Nice but dated. Food was good but the wine list was limited and this place definitely needs a decor refresh. Tired Tudor
Great service and the Brunch was amazing.
Best service we have had in a long while. Food was excellent, charming atmosphere.
The food was just okay, nothing special. The ambience and service were pretty good.
Loved the peaceful atmosphere. Can be hard to find a peaceful place at the end of the day when you are tired and want quiet.
Had the porkchop. Huge and tasty. Caesar salad was a little on the small side but fresh. Service was perfect. Juan was my server, but another waiter assisted when a drink refill was needed. Kind servers.
Will give back.
Beautifully decorated room in which to enjoy a quiet afternoon tea, complete with scones, miniature sandwiches, and all the fixings. Phenomenal value Roth in downtown D.C. We will return.
Took two coworkers for a business lunch. Had most of the restaurant to ourselves. Very quiet and lovely in the atrium. Great for a mid-day lunch where you want to be able to talk with your guests!
I recommend this restaurant highly. Food is fantastic. Then there is the old style service coming from the manager himself down to his staffs. We were visiting DC for few days and dining here made our visit that much better. Try the place.
The Henley Park was a complete surprise. The hotel and dining room is beautiful. Our brunch was delicious. The staff personable and attentive. I will definitely go back. Beginning September 28 they will have monthly jazz night.
Very good food, with great service in a historical building. Nice setting and not to noisy.
It was unfortunate that there was a speaker at a microphone I. The main bar area broadcasting in the direction of the conservatory room where we had pre-requested seating for the ambience - why subject diners who select a quiet looking room to have to hear an unwanted business pitch
The food was quite good but access to our convention hotel was key to reserving a table. The servers were inattentive and almost dismissive as if our party, waiting for a third, did not deserve their attention. Our request for dinner rolls elicited a perfunctory " still baking" and resulted in rolls for dessert. The rolls really were excellent and would have enhanced our dinner experience.
Excellent as usual, even on a Monday evening; very attentive service and good food. The two specials - monkfish and vegetable ravioli - added choice.
Wonderful experience with great ambiance, delicious food and wonderful treatment by staff members. I'll be back!
Great staff & cozy ambiance. Menu was good but could be expanded.
