The food and service was excellent.
Suggest sound absorption panels in the ceiling - noise level keeps us from bringing some of our friends there!!!
have eaten here several times and it never fails to meet high standards for food and service. Is an outstanding local food venue. Recommended for lunch and dinner.
I found the acoustics to be poor as it was very noisy even though it was not that crowded – I could barely hear my date just across the table. And although our server was "serviceable" he was not the friendliest. Also, just as we finished our meal a busser came up and in a rushed manner cleared everything from the table. We definitely got a feeling like we were being hurried out. Lastly, as we were leaving the hostess at the door did not thank us for coming or say anything such as "have a nice evening." So though the food was exceptional the noise and not-so-stellar service brought down our dining experience.
Always well prepared food with a great menu. Come here often and always like it.
We had an awesome meal and it was on the later side of brunch. The waiter was attentive, but not too lurky. Great all around!
Always a great experience! Food was great & service was great!!
This is our favor restaurant the new GM is great good service great food
Always a real treat at The Tasting Room. Wonderful service. Delicious food. Fine wine. Call ahead for reservations as they fill up most nights.
Best NY Strip in Frederick. Outstanding scallops and dessert as well. Real gem in Frederick.
Took my wife for mother’s day. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very cozy.
Service was incredible, we visited as part of our 5th wedding anniversary, the attention to details was splendid, as well as the food, we had a blast, enjoyed from the the beggining to end, management had a special detail with us as celwbration, accommodation was as expected. We will definitely come back and will recomend to friends and family
Tasting room was one of the 1st upscale dining location in Frederick MD- It still remains an excellent choice- consistently great quality.
Food was good, service was great, cocktails were unique and delicious. Go here, eat food, drink drinks, you will be happy, amen.
We love this place. It is our favorite place to celebrate a special occasion.
Loved the food, service, and ambience. The manager was nice as well as our server. The mussels are phenomenal.
Our favorite place in Frederick period. No other place has the freshness and service. They are the gold standard everyone wants to be. Period
The lobster chowder is a standout!! Did all small plates, excellent calamari, spiced shrimp and tuna with avo!! Brussels are so so Will definitely return
Wow! I never leave reviews , but the food here is great. It is evident the chef takes time to prepare each meal . Everything is tasty. We loved the lobster mash, potatoes au gratin, the fried bacon and cole slaw, and the guava cheesecake. The drinks were the only downside they weren’t that great everything else is great.
My wife had the scallops and said they were some of the best she's tried. I had panko shrimp (small plate) and romano salad (living on the edge) and they were great. I tried a laurel beer that was good and a frederick beer that was not to my liking. we sat at a table for two in the bar by the window and people watched and had fun. The bar was noisy but then again it was happy hour. We had a great time for a reasonable price ($100 with tip, drinks, and no dessert).
The interior is surprisingly sophisticated for a town the size of Frederick. You could easily see a similar restaurant in San Fransisco or New York. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The Ceaser Salad may have been the best I've ever had. Service is clearly a priority here. This may turn out to be a go-to for celebrating business wins or other celebrations.
Best filet mignon anywhere, food and drinks always good. Professional staff and a very clean restaurant. One of downtown Frederick's best spots for food and drink.
My wife and I went there last weekend for her birthday and had a great time. Nice place, great service, and tasty food. The server was very helpful explaining the contents of the specials. It did not take long to get our food. We loved this place.
The food was very good! The cost did not match what the environment and the location actually wrre.
had Filet mignon great food and service excellent very friendly but price is way too high
Lobster potatoes and salads were excellent. Steak was excellent, searing hot and cooked to the right doneness. The salmon was good, however, the surface temperature was barely warm and the inside was cooked through, instead of the recommended medium. My assumption is the salmon was done first, while waiting on the steak, thus, the salmon cooled and cooked all the way through.
We always have an excellent experience at Tasting Room. The great food and atmosphere are enhanced by the server, Cynthia, who has taken care of us on many occasions.
Our experience on a Tuesday evening was nice but left something missing food was good not great. That being said the Lobster chowder was outstanding a flavorful bisque filled with large pieces of lobster meat, Capaccio was also very nice from there less so the fillet ordered medium came out rare while it was fixed promptly it did leave other diners waiting while it was refired, rack of lamb was cooked as ordered and was flavorful. Service attentive at first but waned as the dinner service progressed allowing us to have to pour our own wine and at the $100+ price point one wouldnt think that would be the case. In the end we would return the Tasting Room just may not be the first place we think of in Fredrick.
We made a reservation and still had to wait 25 minutes for our table. The tables were very close together, but we didn't mind. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. But, when I'm paying over $30 for an entree, I expect more than three scallops to come with the dish.
Would not recommend. The waiter had a condescending attitude. Ordered the fillet with the potatoes and hollandaise sauce. The potatoes and sauce were cold. I think when you are spending that amount of money for a main course it's inexcusable to be given cold potatoes and hollandaise sauce. And the waiter was like what's the big deal about. My Husband asked if they could swap the eggplants that came with his main courses because he does not like eggplants for Brussel sprouts. And the waiter said that was not a problem to switch them. But when the bill came we were charged for a Brussel sprout side dish instead of just swapping the vegetables like the waiter said they would. The dessert was bland tasting. It was supposed to have lemon curd in it, but it was such a sliver of lemon curd that it was non tasting. The restaurant is small, but somehow the waiter kept disapearing for long long periods of time. A waitress got our drink order. Another waiter had to get the waiter to tell him about the cold potatoes and hollandaise sauce. We waited a ridiculous amount of time to pay the bill.
The first impression of The Tasting Room is the 'clean' decor...almost spartan. Reading the menu you find really creative entres and starters. I had the Chef's rendition of Zuppa de Pesche with Monk fish and served with clams and shrimp in a small dutch oven filled with a wine butter sauce. It came with a side of aeoli slathered crusty bread. Amazingly delicious. Their take on bread pudding came with the pudding infused with pineapple chunks, a scoop of coconut Ice cream topped with whipped cream ,sliced strawberry and a mint leaf on top. Perfect ending to a lovely meal. Oh and yes their wine list is quite excellent. Have added this place to my frequent visit list.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary, most notably the service was great. Our table was under the A/C vent and we were both very chilly, we asked a server if they could turn the a/c down and the manager came to our table a short while later to let us know he had turned it down, and check on how we were enjoying the food.
We tried the duck foie gras for an appetizer. It was something I'd always wanted to tey, but definitely an aquired taste and just not for me. My boyfriend liked it and ate it all however.
For dinner I have the lamb rack with morroccan spices; it was good but didn't seem like an exceptional dish for the price. My boyfriend got the crab cakes and really liked them.
Some restaurants offer wine by 4, 5, 6, or 9, Oz glasses; TR only seems to offer measure 4 Oz glasses. I had Reisling with dinner which was perfect, and a glass of tawny port after the meal that was rich and sweet.
The server brought ustwo glasses of complementary champagne with the check and told us happy anniversary. Overall the best service we have had eating out. The ambiance was romantic and upscale, and everyone in the restaurant was very respectful and not too loud. Although the food wasn't over the moon exceptional, it was good so I am giving this restaurant 5 stars, and would definitely like to return again.
Great wait staff. Very attentive. Very busy Saturday night. The Filet was very good but the pork chop was under seasoned and a tough I was underwhelmed by the reputation vrs the quality of the chop.
The price was high for mediocre food. The veal was dry. The seafood broth was too bland.
Excellent as always. Great service and the 10 oz filet was superb as was the monkfish
Very nice option in Frederick Md
This is my favorite restaurant in Frederick. The food is excellent, and the service is top notch.
The food was delicious and the service was very good. A great experience.
The food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive and accommodating. Would warmly recommend this restaurant to anyone willing to try something new.
Another amazing meal at the Tasting Room, first chance to try the new Spring Menu, it was excellent! My wife had the new Monkfish Stew which had amazing broth (get extra bread to soak it up) and was loaded with tons of tasty seafood. I have the new seared tuna and it was excellent. Super high grade sushi tuna. Dark and flavorful, so delicious. As always I got the Foie Gras appetizer and it never disappoints. The new version of the pork belly was really good, the slaw with it was a perfect compliment.
