The Tasting Room Ratings and Reviews
The TASTING ROOM remains my favorite dining establishment in Frederick and pretty much the entire nation. We had 3 superb Filets (just go there and order it...it's the BEST ever!) with the Potatoes Au Gratin. Our waiter, Justin, remains my favorite waiter in the place as his wine suggestions are always on point and he just provides spectacular service. He's the type of waiter that others need to model in terms of professionalism and friendliness. He makes your night special! The food here is hands down the best value in town.
Very enjoyable spot to get together for a friend's birthday. I had anticipated an upscale experience and was not disappointed. Our server was very attentive without hovering. It was relatively empty when we first arrived at noon on a Saturday, so did not feel rushed. My friends from out of town said that it was worth the drive and we would definitely go back.
This is the third time we've eaten at The Tasting Room. The two previous experiences were very good, which is why we came back again. The review above reflects a the fact that with the exception of the one steak entry we ordered, everything was really good, but the rib eye came our tepid, although the plate was hot, and over cooked. The waiter apologized and offered to have another one prepared, but we were already 1 1/2 into the meal and we didn't want to wait. So it really kind of ruined the dining experience. The waiter offered complimentary desert, which we split, but to be honest it would have been classier to have removed half or all of the cost of the $60 steak, given its poor preparation.
I had the cowboy ribeye and my wife had the ahi tuna special. Both were amazing. In all the years going to Tasing Room, we've never been disappointed. The wait staff was on point with every little detail too. Our tea light went out and within 10 seconds one grabbed it and someone else replaced it but you never felt like they were hovering. One of our favorite spots in Frederick
Every time I return to Frederick, I go here to eat. I generally get the same things, Panko shrimp and lobster mashed potatoes. They are outstanding.
This time my wife got the scallops and she raved about them. I tasted them and "oh my" where they good. The most telling evaluation came from my 9 year old grandson. The waiter explained that they make their own chicken fingers by cutting them from a tender chicken breast and their fries are hand cut from potatoes. When asked "how did you like your meal, he gave it a thumbs up.
I continue to be impressed, each time I dine there.
Special family dinner before oldest moves to west coast. Food as usual was outstanding. Service from Trae was fantastic as it always is. The seafood stew is a fabulous dish. One son got the Tuna and loved it. Others got steaks. The hot plates helps make them so good. Daughter in Law loves the chocolate sorbet. It is fudge like. Very good. This has become our favorite place in Frederick and that is saying a lot as there are so many wonderful places.
We love the Tasting Room. My husband and I went for lunch on our way to Oakland and we like it so much we stopped again for dinner the next day on our way home. The lobster chowder was so good we split it both days! They put it in separate bowls for us. The filet and potatoes augratin were delicious! The seafood chowder was wonderful!
I always choose The Tasting Room for any occasion that is important to me whether it be business or pleasure. In this case I was celebrating the engagement of my son and his intended. As always, the service by Justin our server was impeccable, the food was superb and the wine was an excellent choice to complement our meal. When dining at The Tasting Room one may always count on the experience being exceptional.
The food and service are amazing, however the noise level is so loud that it's hard to hold a conversation without almost shouting . It's unfortunate because it's a great location, we have never had a bad meal or bad service but the noise level will make us reconsider choosing this as a dinner option. The noise level is not so bad at lunch.
Once again we had an outstanding meal at The Tasting Room. The menu has a large enough selection so everyone can find something they will like. Amanda, our server, did a great job taking care of us and making us feel welcomed. Aaron, the manager, truly sticks by "customer first" philosophy. We made a request for a larger table near the A/C, and he quickly accommodated that request without hesitation. Thank you all for making this another wonderful dining experience. Try the Foie Gras/Pork Belly/Lobster Chowder/In bone pork chop - everything was excellent and cooked perfectly.
