    Not only is it a great room with lots of glass to the folks on Main Street walk by, there’s also a nice little bar in the corner to have cocktails and something to eat. The cooking is really impressive all he way from the satisfying burger to the creative takes like lobster chowder with sherry, lobster whipped potatoes, a couple of pasta dishes, great rack of lamb and a good bar program. Lunch or dinner it’s a classy place to hang.

    Without a doubt not only the best restaurant in Frederick but the best food and service in the DMV. Outstanding local ingredients and five star service. Well thought out seasonal menu. It has always been great but the owner has now taken it to the next level

    We were once regulars--pre-pandemic--though we live twenty-five miles distant. The Tasting Room always proved spectacular, and it was a middle point between where we live and some of our friends lived, so we often met there...very happily! Yesterday was my husband's birthday, and he chose for us to get back to one of our very favorite restaurants. From the absolute start, our fabulous server, Marley, enthusiastically wished him a very Happy Birthday, which just shows that you all actually read your "special comments" on the reservation form. Our (kind of casual lunch) meals were astonishing, and all was positively superior for a terrific birthday celebration! Thank you, and thanks to Marley too!

    We had a wonderful evening with our family. Our server was excellent as was the food, except for the risotto. The risotto was nothing to "write Home About". It lack favor..needed some additional seasoning and cheese. I little disappointing. The other 4 dinner were excellent.

    We visit the Tasting Room for special occasions. We love the upscale atmosphere and menu. The food this time was good but uneven. Some hits some not. Filet was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Caesar salad lacked flavor. A standout was the dessert-a lemon meringue parfait. Service is always quite good.

    Busy night at TR due to some other events downtown Frederick, but the service was outstanding & server worked hard to ensure we weren’t frustrated by the larger than the larger than expected crowd. Food is amazing. Octopus for an appetizer is a great choice. Cooked well - not rubbery at all. Highly recommend

    The Tasting Room is nothing short of exceptional. The quality of the food and service is second to none. The innovation with regard to both the food menu and the drink menu is always inspiring and tempting. This is my go to for a great meal and a great time.

    Such a Gem! I can always rely on The Tasting Room to provide excellent food and service. This time I brought a friend who had never been to Frederick, so I wanted to be sure we went to your restaurant. It was perfect. We each had a red flight - all delish. My friend had the salmon Caesar, which she loved. It was a really hearty meal for her. I had the wonderful lobster chowder, which is something I’ve loved every time I’ve visited. Then I had the pear frisée salad. It was sooo good. I loved the pine nuts and Gorgonzola. Great day in Frederick at a local institution. Thanks!!

    First time diner at the Tasting Room. It had been recommended by many as a spot to visit when in Frederick. The restaurant was full on a Friday evening creating a great energy. We decided to split and appetizer and salad which was a good choice as both were very generous portions. The pear salad was delicious. For entrees we chose the short rib and filet. Both were executed perfectly. The short rib was fork tender and delicious and the potato pavé was spectacular. Highly recommend The Tasting Room

    TR never disappoints. Even for lunch the experience was spectacular. The lunch steak & frites was just enough portion size for lunch and the filet was as delish as always. The crab dip was the best I’ve had in a long time. Nice little afternoon cocktails as well done expertly.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We were seated up front in a booth that was very comfortable and had lovely view of the street. My husband enjoyed his filet it was cooked perfectly and the potato dish was delicious. My lamb was amazing and the yogurt dip was perfect. I also loved the fig artichoke side dish. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. For dessert we had the toffee chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream it was well balanced, also enjoyed the pavlova that was delicate, and blend of sweet/tart was on point. Restaurant has very nice atmosphere, service was well paced and server was very professional and kind. Definitely recommend! Looking forward to our next visit.

    Where do I begin? Well, walking in the front door we were immediately welcomed. Our table was ready (15 minutes early) but we sat at the bar. Drinks were delicious, bar tenders efficient and fun to interract with. We were there with a party of 10, and our server, Alex, was beyond fabulous. She went out of her way to make sure we were happy and everything was as it should be. We live in Georgia and were visiting Frederick for a high school reunion. I can't wait to go back to Maryland because the Tasting Room is at the top of my list! My husband and I have traveled extensively and have had many interesting culinary experiences. This is one of the top ten for food, service, drinks, ambience, and just a great time. Thank you to the staff!

    I highly recommend this restaurant - the fare is upscale and creative, portions are generous, and location is lovely. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and lobster whipped potatoes; both were excellent. The portion of sea bass fed me for two days!
