It’s closed and shut down. Needs to be removed from Open Table
We got there, they were out of business , even though we made a reservation a half hour before we got there and it was confirmed
Would have been nice to have known that this place closed 3 weeks prior to my reservation, especially when I made the reservation the day prior before the res!
This place is closed! Please take off open table
The restaurant had closed its doors the night before our reservation. We were not notified of the closing and arrived for our reservation and found the tap had closed permanently. W e were unable to even try it.
It was closed! Even though everywhere online had it open until 2am.
In the area for touristy spots this is just a good solid tavern with very good food - not gourmet - with a smaller than usual menu for a pub. But it works. Great service although it can be stretched as it’s been only one or two folks working the front. Buy they hustle.
Great atmosphere, service was a little slow considering there weren’t a ton of people! Overall, loved it
2nd time here. 1st was 18 months or so ago. Two different experiences. This time there were only 5 people at the bar and we were the only table. Bar tender was the only person working the front. Beer is awesome! Food was still good. Service was lacking with only the bartender taking care of the front, and catering to the drunks at the bar. Out of some food that evening, so limited menu. Not nearly as many items on the menu as the first visit. Quality of food is still very good. Will eat at another place next time and come here only for dessert drinks (beer). What a shame. Cool little place.
Food was average. Beer selection excellent if you like funky beer. Nothing mainstream. Bar could be fun for a group.
We stumbled upon this place for a quick drink and apps before dinner later. It was great and I am anxious to go back!!
Waiter knew we were trying to get to celtics game and never once checked on us. Place was pretty empty and yet it took an hour for 2 sandwiches and they never brought the appetizers. When we finally got the food it was decent at best. With so many options in the area, skip this one!
I'm not one to write bad reviews--- unfortunately I do not want anyone else to encounter the service as we did. I made a reservation for 10 people and that went very smoothly. I was called to confirm on the day of the reservation and everything was all set. We got there and it took over 15 minutes to be acknowledged… Another 20 minutes to get drinks… another 30 minutes to get a food order placed. We were now on a tight schedule ---we were going to a concert so I made the reservation for THREE hours BEFORE the concert figuring we would have enough time. Our food arrived.....(5 of us ordered the "Mayflower") and it came out cold. No time to send it back--- I had also ordered a dessert with a candle in it ahead of time and was assured that would be no problem. Unfortunately at the end of the dinner I asked about it in our servers that they had nothing on record more can they accommodate that request. I took another 25 minutes to get the bill. Our server was HORRIBLE and the Food was mediocre---it may have been a "bad day" but being from out of town and spending $400+ , this was very disappointing !!
Took more than an hour to get out food
We wanted a place for dinner before a concert at the Garden that would be casual, but with food a step above some of the places along Canal Street. The menu looked appealing online, and it was even better in person! The fried oyster mini-taco appetizer was completely delightful and made us wish we'd tried some of the other appetizers as well! The draft list was extensive, which we appreciated. We enjoyed our meals and appreciated the attentive servers. When we ordered a dessert and received a second one because "the runner thought it didn't look good enough," we knew we were in a place that cared about its customers. We'll be back the next time we're downtown!
Great beer selection
Service was excellent. Had drinks and appetizers on the table in under 5 minutes. The only comment I'll make is the small selections on the menu. But what we ordered was very good.
This spot is located in busy Haymarket/Faneuil Hall but is a calm in the chaos. We had a great seat next to a fully open window that looked out towards the Holocaust memorial and city hall. Great for people watching and enjoying a beautiful day. Awesome local beer selection, quiet and the food was spot on. We had the mayflower!
Great beer selection & deserts were soooo good we had to get one of each!
Stopped in for Easter brunch. It wasn't busy at all, which may have explained why our server stopped by our table every 3 minutes to check on us. While it's a common pet peeve to be ignored by your server, to me, it is equally irritating to have one hovering over you the entire time. As soon as we would set down a fork or glass, she was there, asking to take it away. My friend had just put a forkful of food into her mouth, and our server was right there, reaching for her plate.
I understand that when it's slow, there isn't much to do - I will also note that the GM or owner was also there, which can make employees tend to be overly-"helpful," but in this case, it was bothersome.
On the food side, our eggs were overcooked, but by that point, we just wanted to leave and not be henpecked anymore. I like The Tap Trailhouse, and their bloody mary bar is a good idea, in theory, but this weekend must have been an off-one for them.
Only giving two stars because the food wasn't bad. There was a group of 6 of us total. Took them 30 mins just to get us all our first drink order.
Burgers were on point. Beers were great and dessert was great. All was good.
Took over 90mins to get food that was made poorly. Have had better service at the DMV
Cocktails were fantastic!
We waited for 10 minutes, without a server stopping by, and the music over the speakers was super loud. We left without ordering so I didn't review the food.
We were approached by staff as we left, they asked us what was wrong, we told them, and they didn't offer to do anything about it. Maybe they're just cool with the music drowning everything out and waitstaff not checking in. If that's the case, I wish them luck. But it was 8pm on a Friday night and the place wasn't even half full. My guess is that customers aren't as cool with it as they are.
We had a good brunch at the Tap Trailhouse made great by the service today. They're known for their craft-your-own bloody Marys and unfortunately had run out after a rowdy NYE crowd the night before. However, Franklin the host, was absolutely awesome and made the visit great for us as he had good music playing and even went to offer each of us a New Year's mimosa! Definitely made our day there. Food is always solid - and we've been a few times now, which is a good sign.
One of my best dining experiences. From beginning to end, everything was impeccable. I highly recommend this restaurant and if it's still in season... please try the Cold Apple Pie drink!
We came for dinner before the Bruins game and were a bit rushed since traffic was bad. There were a few empty tables and we were seated right away. We told our server we were going to the game and he was very attentive and brought our drinks and food out quickly. The cocktails were great, we had their seasonal cocktails (can't remember the names). For food, the pretzel sticks were good (as expected), the "eggs and pearls" left something to be desired - two small devilled eggs with a small oyster on top for 9$, a little pricy and didn't wow us. The titletown nachos with the blue crab were awesome! It was a quick walk to the game and we would definitely eat here again
Tasty food but not a lot of "lighter" options (no salads). We had the lobster/crab stuffiies, split an order to tasty fish and chips and the venison meatloaf that was delicious. Nice waiter and fun night out.
Our food took AGES to arrive. Two full hours for just mains and dessert. The server was nice in that he comped us the dessert, but this is still unacceptable, especially with the prices they charged ($20-odd for entrees). The food itself was uninspiring and downright mediocre. Avoid!
Came here for drinks/dinner before show at the Garden. Location is great and is a more "grown up" offering than the neighboring watering holes (on a Saturday night at least) without seeming too touristy either.
The place was a little crowded and it took a while to get our drinks. But (local!) beer selection was great and enjoyed the craftiness of the cocktails. Good burgers.
Were confused on Vittles vs. Appetizers and didn't get a good clarification from waitress, but our friends enjoyed their smaller plates. Lots of seafood, but used in creative ways!
We sat for 20 minutes without being approached by a server. Sat directly next to the hostess stand and they were aware but didn't seem concerned. Left in order to find another place to eat before our show. Will not be returning.
My wallet was stolen from my purse while here- won't likely be back
Disappointed in our recent visit here. Music was load and not at all appropriate - hip hop?! Waitress was young and inexperienced...seemed uncaring. Service was a little slow. When food finally arrived, the rest of my part enjoyed but my meatloaf was burnt. The manager ended up comping which I appreciated but this wasn't the experience I had hoped for. I won't be back.
The menu included creative offerings. The staff were all very nice and able to make good recommendations for beer and food. The Quarter Masters Plate was very good. The fish was crispy and well seasoned as were the fires. I was not a fan of the coleslaw though.
Regional fare done exceedingly well, with and eye toward tradition, but their own flourish. The entire staff was hospitable and engaging. The Gents facilities were immaculate. It is a little loud but they are Tap house after all. If you want real New England chowder this is your stop right on the Freedom Trail.
Service was below average. Felt rushed from the time we arrived until we left. Main course arrived within a minute of the appetizer. Food was ok. Timing was poor. Beer selection was exceptional although our waitress seemed unfamiliar with the options and did not have a working knowledge of the menu. I would recommend this establishment but only for the alcohol selections and for anyone not looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Excellent service and great food. Highly recommended.
Two old lady hippies have found a great spot for brunch, lunch & a beer (or two)! We'll leave the evenings to the younger set. Fabulous service too. ;)
Great food with great service. Stopped in for an early dinner after touring around the city. Lobster rolls and the venison meatloaf were delicious! Their beer selection was awesome too!
