The Tap House Ratings and Reviews
This is my second time at The Tap House and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was very energetic and friendly without being overbearing -genuine. The entrees were luscious and the dessert hit the spot, but the mussels we had as an appetizer, were the star of the night! Perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned just right. Absolutely delicious. I enjoyed one of their signature drinks, a Manhattan and it was a beautifully balanced, not too sweet. Though I wasn't there for a romantic evening, (I was there with my mom) we sat in front of the cozy fireplace and had a terrific time. I will be taking my boyfriend to the Tap House for dinner and request exactly the same table.
They are running an excellent business.
The Tap House in Tuckahoe, New York is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant with good comfort food and excellent service. Our waiter was nice, courteous and really went out of his way so that our dining experience was lovely. We dined on a Saturday night when the NY Yankees were playing and the restaurant was packed with people. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Try the Tap House when in Tuckahoe!
The food was delicious at Tap House. Took my mother, brother and his wife for dinner on recommendation of a friend.
Quaint area in Tuckahoe with a huge Italian festival going on.
Lovely ambience, certainly like an Engine pub. We sat in the back room. Had to walk partially by the kitchen but alas a little more quite.
Strip steak was well seasoned with yummy mashed potatoes and perfectly prepared broccoli rabe. Although ordered medium it came out rare so I sent it back. 2nd time was a charm!
Samples of my guests dishes were well-prepared too. Orange miso Ramen bowl was yummy pairing brown rice with grilled Salmon and crisp veggies.
Meatloaf platter was HUGE and good but not my favorite.
Chicken sandwich was also nice--deep battered fried chicken breast with pickles and a zesty BBQ sauce with a serious kick. Served with sweet potato fries.
Our server was kind, courteous and attentive.
Reasonably priced for the amount of food received.
The service was very slow. Took almost 30 minutes to see the appetizers, never did get a breadbasket on the table though we were told more than once that it was 'in the oven'. But the doozie was that they had run out of salmon. 7:30 in the evening and the salmon was off, as too was the red snapper.
Went for lunch with family. Food was excellent. Terribly slow getting main courses out of the kitchen. Staff was apologetic and they comped drinks without being asked. Service otherwise was very good. Probably just a bad day in kitchen. We will definitely go back.
Although odd, we walked through the service area to get to our table. The restaurant was cozy and very relaxing. The food was delicious and sumptuous. The service on the other hand was yet to be desired. She was not attentive and was not efficient in her job. When one of us asked for a request she would run off and took a while to fulfill the request. Then we would have to wait to ask for more items. She could care less if our glasses were empty or if we needed anything else. Then when we asked for dessert, she rambled the list so quickly, we had to ask her for a list thinking she would slow down. Alas, overall, we enjoyed ourselves despite the lack of service.
I wish I knew this restaurant was part of the Pearl group before going, as I would never have gone. When I read the write up I was expecting a nice/casual restaurant and was excited for perhaps a new regular place to go with my husband. As soon as I walked in, I said to my husband, if I didn't know better, I would think this was part of that same restaurant group that we don't like. There was no signage on the menu or anywhere, so we just assumed it was a coincidence. All became clear when we go the bill and it Pearl group was outed. The food at all of the Pearl group restaurants is very formulaic and pretty tasteless. The servers were all very nice, but clearly they are told to quickly turn the tables. The busboy was practically running between tables to clear dishes and everyone spoke so quickly. We were in and out in under an hour. I will never go back. While everything was OK, I don't have time for fair.
Disappointing lunch at Tap House today for Mother's Day. The restaurant was overwhelmed and understaffed. We had to wait for our table, which was in the middle between the door and the bar, and everyone needed to walk around it. When we asked if we could take the table by the window which was being set at the same time, we were turned down without a good reason. We were seated for close to 10 minutes before seeing a waitress. After we gave our order, we never saw her again. Not even for a check-in after we were served. The food was mediocre and somewhat pricey for the quantity/quality. The eggs benedict arrived on burnt toast, with almost no hollandaise and the potatoes were very spicy. When I requested a different potato, I received fries and I was charged for it. Even my kids didn't like their food. I really don't understand the hype and I can't recommend this restaurant. Definitely the first and last time for a visit.
The Tap House provides a warm ambiance in the heart of Tuckahoe. The staff is kind and helpful. There is plenty of parking around the restaurant. My son enjoyed his steak and mashed potatoes and my Mom loved her burger and french fries. I loved the arugula salad with chicken dish. I would highly recommend this eatery!
Kevin was very efficient, knowledgeable and personable.
The manager was always in view and interacted with guests from time to time giving a patriarchal presence.
The salmon sandwich is always a favorite. Apple fritters /dumplings were delicious!
Where did the tablecloths go? Their absence didn't deter from the experience, it was just the first time I didn't see them. It does remove a piece of the ambiance, but everything else is so good, I can let it go.
Comfortable surroundings. Excellent food. Welcoming service. Several dining rooms, including one with a fireplace and one by the bar with ball games. Practical for couples and families. We will definitely go again, and recommend it for anyone looking for a new adventure. Compliments to the chef and the wait staff!
We tried this restaurant during the HVRW. The food was amazing and the helping was generous. The server was extremely friendly and helpful too. My son is allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts and he checked with the kitchen that everything was safe for my son to eat, multiple times. We will definitely go back!
