Excellent experience from the time we sat down until the time we left. We were in a group of 6 and my wife’s meal came out a little late, they took it off the bill which wasn’t expected, we enjoyed ourselves so much that it didn’t matter. Will be back soon!

Our first visit to The Tailor and the Cook certainly did not disappoint. We went for Valentine’s Day and they had a special menu. Look - the food is excellent. I think that’s a given. What I most enjoyed about the food was the mixtures of tastes that I’d never before experienced. The textures that followed textures in the courses was expertly tailored. But...bar none... what made the night was the attentiveness of the entire staff. The service was the best I’ve experienced anywhere. Any time we had an additional request, there wasn’t the slightest hint of being put out in any way. From the host, to the bartender, to the wait staff to the chef who even came to speak with us after supper. We really, truly felt welcome there. We’ll be back.

We had a delightful yearly Valentine's Day (On April 13) meeting with another
couple. The waiters were attentive, the special dinner was interesting and delicious,
and the sound was quiet enough for good conversation.

Wanted to take the wife out for birthday / valentines and decide to try this restaurant. The drinks were tasty and new. The food was great.
The desert left something to be desired.

I visit this place often and it’s always fantastic however this last experience was over the top. The beef Wellington was one of the best versions I’ve ever experienced. The preparation and flavor was perfect. We opted in for the dinner for two experience and left very happy. The service and attention from our waiter was awesome as well.

Great wine list, plus the emphasis on local ingredients. Great service, fabulous food.

Cheese platter, fresh and fantastic.

They provided champagne and culinary treats for our anniversary meal that just wowed us beyond belief.

Must mention the aged Filet Mignon was perfectly done that cuts like butter...and local cheesecake that is extraordinarily good.

So pleased with all aspects of Taylor & Cook experience.

Awesome restaurant - worth the drive. Great for special occasions. Somewhat pricey for the amount of food. Don't plan on leftovers.

It was my first time at Tailor and the Cook and I really enjoyed my experience. The food was creative, seasonal and very different from the surrounding restaurants in the area. Our server was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I look forward to my next visit and trying what seasonal changes they make!

Me and my wife just celebrated our 5th anniversary here and have celebrated 2 others here. Great apps, love getting the cheese boards, love the Utica Bread that's baked next door every day, entrees that make think outside the box, and great desserts.

We had a night out with friends and we chose Taylor & the Cook. We had been there together last year and we all wanted to return. The whole experience was still top notch, from the atmosphere to the service and especially the food. We absolutely love the cheeseboard appetizer with local cheeses, fruits and honey and were thrilled it was still offered as a special even though not on the menu. We will definitely be returning, again!

Drinks took quite some time, out of the entree that I ordered, alternative was braised short rib which was dry, oversalted scallops.

At least 3 of the best 5 meals I’ve ever had, I’ve had here. & here’s the amazing thing: one featured blue fish & the other 2 featured venison. Generally, I don’t like either. I spent a summer on Nantucket. I’ve had the freshest possible blue fish. It was always oily and overly fishy. Venison is too gamey for me. Nevertheless, when prepared by Tim, they’re transformed. I have know idea how they do it. But I love it.

The eclectic menu offers great variety. Dishes are perfectly prepared and wine pairing recommendations are spot on. The sophisticated decor offers a romantic atmosphere with just the right amount of funk. Staff are knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Timing was a little off on the drink orders; there was a snafu with the delivery of wine for the entree, and coffee didn't arrive until after dessert was finished. Overall though, this was a wonderful experience.

My second meal here and it was as good if not better than the first. Attentive and helpful waitstaff. Delicious, "farm to table" selections from the menu. The subzero outside temps made it a bit cool in the restaurant, so wear a sweater. Overall, outstanding!
