This was our first time at Taylor and Cook and it lived up to the hype. As we were leaving I was already making reservations for a repeat visit. We had the tasting menu and it was perfect. A great selection, great food and perfect portions.

Without question, one of the very best meals I’ve ever had. The food was expertly done, the vibe was so cool and the service attentive and so friendly. Do not miss this wonderful farm to table experience if you’re in Utica.

The Tailor and Cook never disappoints me. Coming from Calif I admit I can be very picky and selective when it comes to restaurants. Their food , to me, is what you find in San Francisco or LA. Well done!

One of the very few places to eat high quality food prepared well. They value quality ingredients found locally so the menu changes regularly. The food was amazing, the service was amazing! A couple of minor issues: the water is served at room temperature and I would have preferred cooler water, and the coffee was lukewarm.

This is a must try if you are a foodie.

Delicious filet mignon but overcooked for medium. Our reservation was for 5:30 after 45 minutes to an hour we felt rushed. We understand a busy Saturday evening with an influx of patrons....still rushed. Friends did not care for bitter greens while sipping wines. Dessert...chocolate raspberry tart or torte lacked chocolate. We had a great conversation and enjoyed the experience and the vibe.

Only complaint is the A/C was frigid and blowing on the wall over our heads and falling down on us.

Have been coming for our anniversary on the 1st of May for four years. Have given gift certificates to two adult children and their spouses. Have recommended it to friends.
Meal and service really pleasurable to say the least. Made to feel special; really appreciated.
Two regrets: has been too noisy when very busy
when trying to go out with two other couples for a celebration, could not get any
reservations earlier than I think it was 8pm. We are all very senior coming at least a 1/2 hr travel
from different directions to meet. Early would be best as one couple is even in 80's; hard to drive and to eat so late. Disappointed that we could not come earlier. Had to go elsewhere and missed opportunity to enjoy your fine cuisine and service.

This was the second time that we have dined at Tailor and the Cook. What an amazing restaurant! The first time we ate here (about a month ago) Tim was our waiter and he was fantastic. I meant to write a review then, but got distracted. I am happy to report that our second visit was equally fantastic! This most recent time, April 30th, we had Emily as our waitress and she was also excellent. Tim came over to say “Hi!” and we were very impressed that he remembered us! I had the filet mignon with white truffle mashed potatoes and my fiancé had the seafood ravioli. For cocktails we ordered whiskey sours made with Saint Lawrence Spirits Captain’s Flask bourbon (the best) and with dinner we had the Finger Lakes New York Cabernet Franc Atwater - excellent! For dessert we shared the cheesecake which was - by far - the best cheesecake we have ever had. Two thumbs up for the Tailor and the Cook - what a find - what a tremendous restaurant!!!

Fantastic experience. Our table was not ready when our group first arrived and the staff bent over backward to make sure we were happy. After a short wait, and I mean it was really only about 10 minutes, we were treated to a fantastic meal. The food is simply outstanding, and the service is equally as good.

Wine, food, and service worthy of telling the server hold the desert...ENCORE. Although we were completely satisfied and would not have been able to pull it off that is what high quality the entire night was at The Tailor and The Cook.

I'm grain free so I couldn't eat the bread, but my daughter thought it was so good, tears literally started going down her cheeks. And after eating the cheesecake, she says she isn't going to eat cheesecake from any other restaurant for the next year because she's spoiled now. Enough said?

The staff are very attentive and accommodating.

Expensive, but high quality items cost money. The chefs are clearly top notch. The food is the best I've had in the area.

I would have preferred a quieter atmosphere, but that's me.

This place deserves its great reputation. Superb, attentive service and beautiful food. Impressive attention to detail. It's on a level with the finest restaurants we've enjoyed in places like Boston and Montreal.

However the restaurant is too loud and the tables are packed too close together. We'd hoped for a romantic ambiance and it's just too noisy in there, plus who wants to hear the conversations at neighboring tables?

The food was amazing as was the service and the ambiance the food choices and drink choices are outstanding. It is definitely 1 of the best restaurants I've eaten at and we have traveled all over the U.S.. It is very pricey but I do highly recommend it. My only disappointment was the deserts, they were terrible we had the cheesecake and the something..flan, unnotable, no flavor and very disappointing considering our appetizer and meal was phenomenal. Please fix the deserts.

The staff is very attentive. The menu is very unique and a breath of fresh air with so many chain restaurants dominating the landscape in today's "one size fits all" culture. Anytime I want to impress someone without going to NYC I will choose Taylor & The Cook

The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and were very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. We ordered scallops and lamb meatballs for appetizers. The duck, fillet mignon, and fish were perfect. For dessert we ordered the lemon curd and flan, which was just right. If you are in the Utica area, Tailor and the Cook is a must!
