While the food was fantastic, 1 detail really put a downer on what was supposed to be a special dinner out with my husband. The tables are SOOOO close together that I could hold hands with the person at the table next to us. We paid a lot for a great meal, hoping for intimate, relaxing, conversation, only to not be able to speak comfortably once the tables next to us were sat. Very awkward.
Perfect in every way. The best rack of lamb I have ever eaten. The ambience, service and food cannot be matched in the Inland Empire
The food and drink were great. Service, less so. Our waiter, when I ordered the rack of lamb, appropriately asked me my choice for side dish and I chose sautéed spinach. My wife made a choice of first, 8 oz and then changed to 10 oz filet. He did not ask her her choice of sides until I reminded him of it. When the meal was done, and the bill brought, we found that he in fact had served an 8 oz steak. Another thing, the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive after being ordered. My wife felt like she was ignored by our waiter. She will not come back.
Every course was very fresh and delicious! Food came out very timely. Wait staff was very attentive and we never had to ask for anything. I will definitely remember this gem next time I want a 5 Star meal and service!
The best Chilean Sea Bass I’ve ever had! Wonderful staff and service. The perfect place for a special occasion.
It surprised us with how outstanding the food was. Our server was very attentive, funny, and helpful. We will be back.
Excellent service, clean & well kept, & nice decor. I had Prime Rib and it was good but a bit dry. gratin potatoes were excellent. Too high a price for what you get! Not as good as it use to be under old ownership.
As always, Sycamore Inn was an outstanding dining experience. It was my wife's birthday so I surprised her with the reservations I made through Open Table. The only special request I made was for special birthday wishes for my wife. To my wife's surprise, the server Bob brought out a slice of bread pudding for dessert on the house.
Had the best prime rib I've had in years. Just as good as Lawry's! We love the ambiance of this place.
It took close to a half hour before my wife and I received our appetizers and over 45 minutes to receive our entrees. My wife and I both ordered steaks and the steaks came out over cooked and dry and our side dishes were cold. We gave our waiter this feedback and he had the chef cook two new steaks. While the second steaks were not dry, they were bland with no flavor. For the inconvenience, the waiter only charged us for our glasses of wine, which we appreciated. But we were truly disappointed in the quality of food.
Wow!!! I'm very surprised by how good the food is. Such a treat to taste this food. Just awesome. The rack of lamb was delicious and the steak tasted good.
I must say it’s the best restaurant in the I.E, I would rate it higher than the mission inn! We celebrate our most important occasions there!
Old style steakhouse. Great food and wine selection
We were visiting the area during Valentines Day & saw this place had great reviews. I looked them up on the website & it looked like a perfect place for a date. They totally lived up to our expectations. The place was a great historical find. The hospitality was excellent as well as the food. We will definitely recommend Sycamore Inn to friends & family that are from the area as well as those planning to visit. Thanks for a great romantic dining experience.
Not a memorable evening. Simple food, high prices. My filet mignon wasn’t as tender I hoped. Most servers seemed like it was their first evening.
It was a nice and romantic atmosphere. The food was good and the staff where very friendly.
Valentines dinner with the wife. Food was amazing. Best steak I’ve had in quite a while. Definitely recommend.
Great restaurant, great food, great environment, great service....it just all comes at a pretty high price but a definite once in a while place to go and experience
As always a great meal, took us in at our reservation time. Just over all a great evening.
We had Valentines dinner at this place. Our waitress was friendly and nice. We ordered New York strip, Filet mignon , veggie soup and Ice cream on pastries for dessert. Two out of three steak orders were under cooked. The qualities of meat were just ok. We asked steak sauce but waited for long time to get them. The seatings are old style with little privacy. The desert pastry was cold and little old, not fresh and fluffy. We love the soup, it was very balanced with perfect veggie blend. Our bill was around $250 (including tips). Not impressed .
This is a great classic steak house with the authentic menu to match. Atmosphere is quiet and elegant, service is exceptional.
Everything was wonderful, except for the ambiance. The tables are too close together, and one of the servers (not ours) kept hitting the back of my chair, even after I had mentioned it to him. Please don't overcrowd the dining area with tables, as this makes for a very uncomfortable experience.
Everything was great. The food was delicious. Even though the service was a little slow, they acknowledged the fact and treated us to a complimentary bread pudding which was amazing.
We love this place and come here for special occasions. Unfortunately, this visit, our prime ribs did not live up to expectations from past visits. Still good but not as tender as past visits. Service is still excellent and the ambience was stellar.
Great service and most of our food was delicious!
Absolutely perfect evening! So relaxing and we’re very well taken care of.
I really thought I would be giving a stellar review but unfortunately that is not the case. The food was the only thing that was amazing. The restaurant setting is pretty cool because of its historical status. I chose Sycamore for my fiancés birthday expecting a great experience. The service was horrible. We literally were ghosted by our waiter in training and the seasoned waiter who has been there for years. They took our order and checked on us once shortly after we began eating. We saw them walking around at first and then absolutely nothing from either. I had to flag the seasoned waiter for our check once we finally saw him. At one point earlier on, the two waiters were standing in ear shot and I heard the new waiter asking the other how he thought he did. Not something I want to hear at a restaurant that holds themselves at a higher standard especially when they had not checked on us. Very dissatisfied and we will not be back. I’d rather spend my money at a classier steak house that services their customers.
I took my Wife out for a surprise dinner and it was everything and more. We had service and felt well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious. We both love historic places and just being there truly made it an awesome experience. We will definitely be back again.
Their food is excellent!
I was a little disappointed this trip. We purposely eat early to avoid crowds, but even at 5:30 they seemed full and we 4 were relegated to a tiny table between 3 large groups.
For fine dining, it was much too loud and they have apparently gone lax on the dress code.
Although the rib eyes had good flavor, they were the thinnest cut I've seen - and they got my brother's and my orders backwards. That said, my wife's steak was very good and I heard no complaints about the lamb shank.
I had several steakhouses to choose from, but chose this one because of past experiences. Next time we'll give the others another try.
Sycamore Inn is my favorite restaurant of all time. We went for a birthday recently and it again exceeded our expectations! If you haven’t been, it’s a real treat.
This was my and my husband's first time there. We sat at the bar before our reservation time and enjoyed the BEST Blueberry Lemon Martini I've ever had .😊
Dinner was amazingly delicious!! I had the Filet Mignon and my husband had the Chilean Seabass. The food was cooked perfect. Everyone was really nice and attentive.
I will definitely be back!
Great food for a special occasion. A little pricey.
Always a great experience
Been waiting for a year to try Sycamore Inn. What a disappointment. Very loud with children running around. All four of us had beef which was flavorless and way overpriced. Will not be returning. Save your money and time and go to Flemings.
Way overpriced for the value of food. Try Brio instead.
The prime rib was bad. The meat had too much tendon and thus very chewy. The dessert, souffle was burnt.
