   We have always had outstanding meals at the Swan in the past - this time we found the meal was ok, but far from the quality of the past. The starter though was good, but the main meal (pork for one and steak for the second guest) was tasteless and poorly presented. On that basis we didn't even risk a dessert. I wouldn't recommend anyone on this meal although previous times have made it our favourite place to dine. We shall have to think again.

   I had a dreadful experience throughout my meal last Sunday, there was a lack of Management leadership & communication. I ordered steamed fish & vegetables having a dietary requirement which omitted any oils or fats. My first meal came with baked potatoes & parsnips which I complained to the stand in Manager. My meal was ordered again quite a simple request you would think! Twenty minutes later a bowl of boiled potatoes appeared on my table, nothing else it was there for around 15 minutes with no fish or vegetables. Once again I complained to the Manager, she apologised and asked if it was ok to cook me another meal, I explained 3 members of my family had finished their main course & were proceeding to order their sweet. At this point I was exasperated and said the service was not good enough and I was starving hungry, I accepted fish only and wasn't prepared to pay for it which she honoured with apologies.

   We love this restaurant. The Swan is a fantastic pub in a beautiful village and it has a fantastic, welcoming, relaxed feel. The restaurant itself is just right - good linen and cutlery but made more relaxed by the vintage style tables and chairs and interesting ceiling decor. The food itself is delicious. Simple, clean flavours without the unnecessary complications you often get in similar 'nice' restaurants. Both times we have eaten here we have found that the food was delicious, the wine selection excellent and the service is just right - attentive but not in your face. Go here. You will not be disappointed.

   Our second visit to The Swan and on the whole it was great as usual. Shower could have been cleaner and when we pointed this out it was cleaned immediately while we sat in the garden with a complimentary drink for our trouble. Crab cakes to start were great as was the wine. However this is not renowned as a steakhouse and we could see why when we had a rump and a sirloin. Whilst cooked to perfection the steaks were very grissly/fatty and not tender at all. Should have gone for the lamb and the fish but hey we live and learn. Would definitely go back and avoid the steak.

   We returned for another lovely meal the standard Is consistently good wonderful chips!

   We went to The Swan at Wedmore sat nite overall was very nice , very friendly staff the chap on the bar was very welcoming when we arrived offered us drinks menus to look at, had a drink in the bar looking at the menu nice choices of food but not much to choose from and a little pricey but ok. Waitress took are order I had the bruschetta to start with followed by the plaice but that was it, you had to choose your sides to go with it which I'm not a big fan of, plaice was £16 & the sides were another £3 each so it's getting up there a little bit......and my partner ordered the polenta mozzeralla salad which was around £12.95. The food came was around 20mins so not to bad I really enjoyed my plaice good job I was in a descaling mood....the fish was well cooked lots of flavour and the side were just as tasty. As for the bruschetta bit bland no salad on side but was ok. As for the polenta bit pricey for what came on the plate no salad. Didn't have pudding bit pricey for the size of the portions, coffee was fine good service overall was ok but wouldn't rush back.

   We love eating at the Swan with our family (from children to grandparents). However, until we went with my Mum in law, who is strictly vegetarian (no eggs please), we didn't realise how limited the vegetarian options are (ie, only one choice that was also egg free) and there were some doubts about how the meal had been cooked. Vegetarians need food storage and cooking to be separated from meat/ fish and this was not apparent. She couldn't eat the meal because it tasted of fish. This was very sad as it was our only chance to eat out as a family with both sets of grandparents. Waiting staff were also not up to their usual standard and were forgetting cutlery etc..... It was for my daughters 15th birthday treat and the first time we have been disappointed at the Swan- which is usually so good.

   Never been to the swan in wedmore before and we were reliant on previous review by others. On arrival the place was very busy in the restaurant and bar area which made for a loud atmosphere. We were shown to our table immediately and were asked for our drinks orders, which was with us in minutes. On checking the menu there was everything a foodie would love to see, a wide range of meals to cater for everyone's taste. To be honest however we opted for the bar menu and had the burger and pulled pork roll and they were absolutely delicious. Dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding sundae, now that's a pud for those with a sweet tooth......just loved it!!!! Staff extremely helpful and very friendly. I will certainly be going back again and I would recommend to friends and family.

   I brought my parents here, and they kept on thanking me for taking them somewhere so nice. Great decor, fantastic food, friendly service, and we were surrounded by nothing but happy customers. Everyone was singing the praises of the food they had just eaten, each time a waitress came to take their plates. Well done to everyone who makes this such a great restaurant.

    Went with friends(7) for Saturday lunch. Excellent staff allowed us plenty of time to chat and linger without hurrying us. Food was very good and delicious. Adequate wine list although a trifle expensive, for which I have deducted 1 star in the value box. Staff attentive but not too pushy. Will go again soon.
