    Sat in conservatory. Very warm. Starters good and good size portions..garlic mushrooms were delicous. We all.had " £1 and ounce Rump steak. " One of the steaks was 25% fat. Expected on rump, but not that much. Steak sauce tasty but very small. Had a side salad. £5. Bit naff. Meal was generally fine, but have had better and go to better places in the area.

    The pub and staff were so unbelievably helpful and accommodating. Our plans and numbers changed several times and everyone involved were so helpful. Would definitely recommend and use again . Thank you

    We had a Sunday roast. Nut roast and beef. Unfortunately the beef was very rare and tough. Everything else was lovely. We mentioned it and had some money off the bill so that was ok. Overall very good was just unlucky that today with the meat.

    We had a family birthday dinner at The Swan, Whittington. Everyone really enjoyed their food and everything about this place. Steaks and burgers are especially delicious. We will certainly go back.

    I visited The Swan last Friday for a special date night. While the food was above average (I'd rate it 4/5), the overall experience was let down by poor service — especially disappointing given the premium pricing and added service charge. We arrived around 7:40 PM after a long walk, looking forward to a relaxing dinner. Unfortunately, our starters didn’t arrive until about 9 PM, and no one offered any bread or nibbles while we waited, despite us clearly looking hungry and trying to get a staff member’s attention. The staff seemed overwhelmed and were mostly walking past us without engagement. When we finished our main courses and asked for the dessert menu, we weren’t informed that the kitchen was closing. Shortly after, it became clear that staff were winding down, and no one seemed interested in taking our dessert order. We gave up dessert disappointedly, ended up just walking to the bar to pay, essentially brushed off without a proper end to our meal — not ideal for what was supposed to be a special evening dating with my special lady. The environment was pleasant and understandably busy, likely due to the nice weather, but that shouldn't be an excuse for inattentive service. Overall, disappointing service overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal. I hope the management takes this feedback on board — with better service, this place could really shine.
