The Sundial’s à-la-carte and seasonal menus as well as its cuisine and ambience are typically French. Our restaurant in East Sussex is perfect for a meal with family and friends or an intimate dinner for two, the Sundial’s lounge bar, French restaurant and private dining room provide a flexible combination for parties, business meetings, seminars, wedding venues and group events for up to 60 people. Our restaurant can cater for upto 150 people as a wedding venue. Lack of atmosphere but polite, efficient service. Both the main dishes were very salty in particular the guinea fowl.

We love it here and are planning to come back in 3 weeks for one of the specials! Great personal service, outstanding food and a very reasonable price for what you get. Highly recommend!

On a weeks self catering holiday nearby, we booked for dinner on the second night at The Sundial. My wife and I enjoyed the experience so much, we returned twice more. (Would have looked forward to dinner there on our last night too, the menu was so varied and enticing, but we had tickets at a concert that night.) The relaxing ambience was immediate on entering. From joint owner, Mary's welcome, and the sybaritic lounge area. In these times of widespread reduced choice of menu, what chef Vincent offers at The Sundial, is amazing and exemplary. The 3 courses we had, on all three nights, were delicious and photogenic. I can only marvel at the logistics Vincent must have to deal with, to acquire, prepare and assemble, any combination of dishes, diners on a given night may decide to order, and deliver, to the his high standard. The Sundial, is a culinary shining beacon, and we wish Vincent and Mary continued success.

We had a wonderful lunch. The food was delicious and the service first class. Meeting Benji was an added bonus!

Excellent food well served in casual surroundings. A good menu with plenty of choices. The flavours were superb. The wine list was extensive and included half bottles for those who are driving. Service was unobtrusive but good. Well done, we’ll be back.

Wonderful food greeted like an old friend a total pleasure the whole evening food to rival many Michelin star restaurants. Would totally recommend this place , one of the best places to eat in whole of Sussex
