Booked this for my daughters 16th b'day lunch and unfortunately it wasn't rotating and it was so cloudy you couldn't see anything. Pretty disappointed but food was OK and service was great.
Great time, food was great topped with exceptional service
Not good food you are required to eat off the overpriced menu while one person can have an appetizer and side which says that you will automatically spend over 75 dollars and that they take a tip no matter what's for the waiters that's is 5 or 10 nothing below that
I was concerned as I had seen some less than favorable reviews. My only complaint would be the cost, with their policy of every diner must order an entre, count on at least $50 if you’re being frugal. However, the view is spectacular, my service was outstanding and the food was a pleasant surprise. Don’t expect much from these location centric restaurants, but here the food was really great. I had the scallops and they were perfect, on a bed of sweet potatoes (delicious), with baby zucchini (really nice). Everything was top notch on my visit, the only complaint I have is the cost.
Great experience ... We really enjoyed the view the food the service at the sun tell restaurant thank you Hi how are you
Everything was perfect ! The service was great, and the food was excellent. Could not have asked for a better end of an 30 year Anniversary Vacation.
Superb staff and food amazing view
It was nice to dine at the Sundial again ... However, I only wish the floor still rotated 360 ... My understanding is that the floor rotation might resume in the future. Hopefully so ...
Regardless, the view of ATL is great atop the Sundial ... Food was excellent !
Spectacular view, good food, spectacular prices. Probably would not vist often because of the high rent.
First times a charm!!!!! My husband and i enjoyed our anniversary dinner.
It was GREAT
Our experience was awesome. The view was amazing. If you have a party of 5 or more, don't expect a window view. Our server Jason was amazing! He took great care of us. The food was very good. I had the surf and turf burger. Next time I'm in Atlanta, I would definitely go back.
The Rotating function was broken due to mechanical issues, but they don’t appear to have a plan to get it fixed. So it’s a little misleading. The ambiance is nice. The view is gorgeous. But you do have to walk all around the place to see it all since it doesn’t spin. The food was mediocre. It’s not a fine dining or gourmet experience. The service is very good though.
The service was great and food was as well. This was my first time eating here.
We visited the Sundial Restaurant to celebrate our 36 wedding anniversary. We had not been there in decades.
When I confirmed our reservation I was told the restaurant is not rotating. No problem. It was nice to let us know in advance. We had a prefixed menu options, which were great. I had the sweet potato soup and salmon for my entree. Kim, our server, was very friendly and attentive. However. When I inquired about the red star beside some menu items, Kim stated it was because tbey were super foods i.e. the nuts in the salmon. That did make any sense but he insisted. He gave us the impressive he didn't know what he was talking about. Other than that one thing, Kim was great. We will definitely return
The food was good, and the view is amazing but we expected the restaurant to "turn", as listed on many sites on the internet but finally due to an accident last year, the restaurant doesn't turn anymore, altough the view is amazing nevertheless.
The reason why I wouldn't recommand the restaurant is that we have spent more than 1h15 just to get just 1 dish. We intended to take desserts, but we just didn't wwant to stay 1 more hour just for that. Sometimes the waiter just disappeared during like 15 or 20 minutes, and the dishes were very long to arrive, the check also.
Everything about this place was amazing...from the waiter, the atmosphere, the view, the menu (delicious!!🤤) Worth Every penny 👌🏽
It's my first trip with my girlfriend together，and the dinner is unforgetable with the view！
It was fantastic and Luxurious. The server was extremely helpful and polite. The food is everything. This was my best birthday dinner with friends. All thanks to Sun dual restaurant
The food and service was great. The new chef has larger portions than before, but the prices didn’t jump. I only hate that it doesn’t revolve any more...I’m sure many people feel that way.
Good view, decent service, but VERY overpriced. I could have created a better meal at 1/4 the price at home.
The Sun Dial exceeded all my expectations! From the glass elevator ride and back, I was just so thrilled to be there. Everything I ate was absolutely wonderful, the staff was all courteous and pleasant and efficient, and the atmosphere was so beautiful and fun to be in. A truly amazing experience, one I hope to repeat!
Very excited to spend my birthday there with friends but disappointed the restaurant wasn’t spinning. Great food and service as always.
The food and service was great. It’s disappointing that it no longer spins, but I understand why. I still enjoyed myself.
The food was creatively presented and delicious! But ANN, our waitress, made the experience into an event! She welcomed us with a genuineness and warmth that truly reflected Southern hospitality. She knew the menu well and anticipated the appetites, the serving size, and the drink and desserts desired by a group of ladies 75 years old. She very efficiently served just as we were ready for the next course. What a credit she is to your restaurant. Thank you!
Terrible experience! The restaurant's rotation feature was unavailable until an undisclosed amount of time due to "maintenance". Our table was not ready at the scheduled time. We were not attended to by a waiter until 15 min after being sat down at the table. The food and alcohol had to be returned back multiple times (e.g. beer was stale and steaks were over cooked). The valet parking was validated, but we had to still pay $25 for being over 3 hours (this is NOT disclosed on the ticket not did anyone let us know). This was determined after we paid $360.00 for a dinner for four guests. Overall, not a great night at the Sun Dial.
It was a good evening of quiet relaxing while dining on a delicious steak
Overall bad experience. I came for a special lunch with my two sons. 1 ordered pizza and a side of fruit and the other ordered pb&j with green beans. They forgot to bring my first son's fruit, and they brought a salad instead of green beans for the other. I am vegan and ordered the mushroom melt with no cheese or aoili. I stated that I was vegan to the waitress and couldn't have any dairy or other animal products. She told me her mother was vegan and she was considering going vegan as well, she was familiar with the diet. Well, my sandwich came and they had grilled the bread in butter. Also, they had left off the jalapenos. I tried to find our waitress, but she never came back to check on us. I had to stop the bus boy in order to get the green beans, fruit, and jalapenos. He did not speak much English and couldn't understand the problem with my sandwich. I was starving, and we were freezing because we were sat beneath an air vent, so I ate it. Then we had to keep waiting until our waitress finally came back and I asked for the check. that was the first time she had stopped by the table since we placed the order. I told her about all of the problems, and she had one of the kids meals removed. I ended up paying $35 (not including tip) for that meal. And yes, I still tipped her. Horrible experience. Would have expected more. Will not be back.
Very disappointed because restaurant does NOT rotate now! I was there in late Sept. 2017 and it was rotating. Will check first before booking reservation at Sun Dial next time!
Took my son for his birthday. He was very upset dining room was not rotating. Food was good but not for price. I ordered a small birthday cake for 2 but only my son got some kind of Java brownie which he did not like. The waiter just brought it and set it down like regular order. No song or happy Birthday! Very bad experience for 300 dollars. Will never come back and never advise anyone else to either.
Gabriella was an incredible server. She was very knowledgeable and eager to assist us with our every need. She was very genuine and it was obvious that she wanted us to have a good experience at the sundial.
Service great and atmosphere.. drinks great. Appetizers but dinner not so awesome. Staff and manager did their best to make it better.
The Sun Dial is one a of many Restaurants in the Atlanta area that we regularly enjoy going to for date night. We always have amazing service and the food is always flavorful, just the right portion size. The view is great. Over the years though the dress code policy doesn't seem to be enforced like I think it should. The last year times there have been tons of people in everyday street clothes, shorts-t-shrts-shorts jerseys-ball caps- even saw someone with flip flops on. etc.
The customers use to all get dressed up to go there. I would like to see them step up on that aspect. But i'm sure it's due to them not wanting to turn away any business to make the money.
But over all great place otherwise. They haven't been running the turning feature either of the building I guess since the "Incident" that happened a lil while back. But the views are still amazing from just about any table.
The main selling point of the restaurant is the amazing views and the rotating dining room. Unfortunately the rotating dining room is currently down for maintenance. The food was great and so was the stationary view
The Sundial was great. It was the BEST steak I have ever had. I’m still tasting it now. My wife has never been there and absolutely loved it. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The server was fantastic.
Amazing!! Food and service was great!
Thanks to our waiter Corey for going above and beyond to make it a great night for the family as it was first time in Atlanta for them
We visited Westin Peachtree Atlanta for a Spring Break stay. All of the staff at the hotel was great and The Sundial was absolutely wonderful. The scallops and steak were hands down some of the best entrees we’ve ever had. The views were wonderful, too.
Let’s face it: you ONLY come here to eat for the view. The food is pricey and “better than average” but you’re paying for the view. Our server was EXCELLENT (I forgot her name!!!) and she was very engaging with our child. That’s a huge bonus for us. Maybe I would have enjoyed a sunset drink but we came during lunch.
Oh! Hubby had the trout: moist, flavorful, excellent. I had the winter salad with grilled chicken: bite sized portions, tasty, mixed very well. My child had something off the kids menu, which was THE best meal served to the table 😋😋😋
Using Open Table to book the reservation was great. The crab cake was great. The tomahawk steak was smaller than I’ve seen elsewhere. It wasn’t worth the price. The rotational feature of the restaurant has been suspended indefinitely due to an accident where an unattended child was killed.
The views were nice, but having the rotating dining room was way better.
