The Sun Dial Restaurant at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Ratings and Reviews
We celebrated my son's 10th birthday at the Sundial last year and had a fantastic experience event though the weather was not great and visibility was poor. The service was great, the wait staff sang him happy birthday and presented him with a free dessert and a fancy Sundial glass that he uses regularly. We returned to celebrate his 11th - let's just say it was nothing close to his 10th birthday!
I knew it was pricy but my expectations for an outstanding meal was met. The food was perfectly prepared, seasoned and presented. I was escorted to the ladies room which was appreciated. However, the staff was not keeping up with keeping the restroom tidy. Hand towel recepticle overflowing and tissue on floor. Certainly will visit again if I have opportunity.
The steak was very good. I was very disappointed with the side selection. The sides were very bland! I was serve four roasted potatoes that weren’t seasoned. If I wanted to substitute the side there was a 7$ charge. I’ve had better food for that price. I would suggest going to Kevin Rathbun. The food here just wasn’t worth the price. Also bottom shelf liquor was 18$. You’re basically paying for the scenery.
Every time we come to Atlanta we try and get reservations for dinner.
It was a wonderful ride to the top on Sunday evening and we saw a spectacular sunset.
Our server was pleasant and efficient. The seasonal menu is always changing and the Chef does a great job of giving you a varied choice.
They are known for their Caesar salad, which we enjoyed and the steak and the lamb entrée we chose were great choices that evening.
Be sure and make your reservation if you want to enjoy one of Atlanta's best landmarks.
This was a great end to my business trip in Atlanta. I would highly recommend you trying this place out. 5-Star service and 5-Star food. Pro tip: use Open Table to book your reservation! I arrived at 12:52 and used the app to make a reservation for 1:00 and was taken right in. A couple behind me didn’t use the app and were told the wait was an hour.
I had a bad experience. the service was very informal to be an elegant restaurant rated "fine food" and so expensive. the quality of the food was not good. too expensive for how simple and common was the food. the restaurant announces that it is rotating and that was not working. I would not recommend it to others. It has a very nice view but the food is bad and outrageously expensive.
Service was impeccable and good was delicious. Catered to under 12. Very picky eaters, but the let them substitute marinara sauce for Alfredo. Girls were very impressed with the view. Entire experience was enjoyable. Pre theatre luncheon before going to see Lion King at the Fox. Perfect place to go. Everybody from the parking attendants to our server were very nice and helpful.
During our visit, the Dial was not rotating and it was very foggy. This is an ideal location for a special occasion on a clear, starry night when the rotation is up and running again. Great views of Atlanta from the top of a 72-story building. Fine dining experience for special occasions.. Live jazz was great. Sweet potato soup is scrumptious.
I reserved a table in advanced. When I got there it took a while for them to sit us down. Service was okay, a little bit slow but still fine with it. I ordered a steak well done, it came back raw. All of it was red, it had blood in it, I had to spit it out. The waitress went to tell the "chef" and it came back well done but it was the same steak. I've gone to other steak houses and same experience has happened but they will always come back with a new steak not the same one. The view was nice, sadly it doesn't spin anymore.
