First time dinning at the sundial. Was very nice and staff were very pleasant. Food was outstanding, although it is quite expensive. Only disappointment was the floor wasnt moving. Was really looking forward to that.

We wanted to take a high school international exchange student to the Sundial, so that she could experience the rotating restaurant and see the city. Unfortunately, when we got there the restaurant was not rotating. The waiter explained that it had stopped rotating five months ago. Nowhere on their website or on their reservations site does it say that the restaurant is no longer rotating. In addition, our service was woefully slow and inattentive, and the food was disappointing. All in all, our experience was less than satisfying.

Really enjoyed the seasonal menu. Have not been there for several years due to boring food fare but they have turned it around completely. Quality and freshness was amazing. Pretty expensive but worthwhile for special occasions. Without a bar tab, the bill was $400 for 4 people which included 2 appetizers, 1 soup, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. Also a little bit disappointed the restaurant was not rotating as usual due to maintenance. But definitely will go back when the menu changes for next season.

The food and presentation did not come close to meeting expectations for the price point. The short rib plate came out, looking very sloppy! No plan to return.

The Sundial rotating is the main attraction and I have recommended it twice on two trips from Greenville SC and both times still not working. Service, food and everything else was outstanding just the floor rotating.

undistinguished bloody marys, "Rachel" sandwich poor, overpriced. Try grilling with more meat & cheese! Wish we'd all gotten hamburgers. Friendly but slow service. When we make the effort to go downtown it should be worthwhile!

The best part of the restaurant is the view. This place is a tourist trap.
Waiting area is extra viewing deck, frozen drinks in souvenir glasses, over priced menu with limited selection, and mediocre wine list. Not impressed at all. Every dish needed salt/seasoning. If you want to impress someone with great views of Atlanta while paying out the nose for bland food, this is the spot.

I had a nice time with friends but the restaurant did not spin. Some later told me about an accident with a small child. I wish that they would not advertise that they spin when they do not. I was disappointed but the view was amazing

The view was stunning and watching the sunset during dinner made it very romantic. The food was delicious and our waiter James made us feel at home. During our meal we had crab cakes, lobster bisque, scallops and braised short ribs. The crab cake was our absolute favorite. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

The view was great at night. Downside was it did not revolve as they claimed it was down for maintenance. Also, the initial service for taking the order was a little slow. But once we gave the order the food was brought in a reasonable time and the servers were well knowledgeable of their dishes. Will go back if in Atlanta again.

This evening my family and I had dinner at the Sundial. It was my son's 21st birthday celebration. We were not told until a few hours before dinner, the restaurant would not be rotating. Secondly, the food quality and preparation was not up to par. My fish was dry and over cooked. My daughter's scallops smelled strongly of old fish and tasted the same. My son had the pork chop entree, and the cabbage was simply terrible, dry and over charred.
This is supposedly an upscale restaurant, but there were patrons wearing jeans and tee shirts.
Such a disappointment! Our bill was over $300 and frankly, we left hungry.

The first date I had with my now husband was at the Sundial, almost 2 yrs ago now. We had dinner (it was great), however, today it was Sunday Brunch. It was my birthday, I wanted to try the Sunday Brunch, and to experience the daytime atmosphere. Awesome view of the city. However, the food was not very good. I had the Chicken and Waffle. The breast of chicken was okay, could have better seasoning. The waffle was hard and cold, so the nice server offered an exchange. Even though the second waffle was a little softer, it was still cold. I asked for a side order of scrambled eggs w/cheese. I got scrambled powdered eggs w/cheese on top. SMH. No, I didn't send the second waffle back, nor did I make a biggie about the eggs - I was just not worth an hassle. I didn't eat either and will not order that again. We'll stick to dinner, and I'll let you know if that has changed next time we go.

This is supposed to be one of the finer restaurants in Atlanta, but things do change with time.

LOVED IT!!!! Took my girlfriend for her birthday and our waiter was awesome. Never waited for him to serve us, food was hot, on time and delicious with great portions. We were a little disappointed that the mechanical function wasn’t working that night so we didn’t get the full experience of city view from the dinning room spinning. But over all it was a great dinning experience.

We dined at The Sun Dial at sunset, which was the perfect time for a spectacular view of the city. The menu selections were diverse, and the service was great. I've eaten there several times and never left disappointed...until this time. The food was "meh." One son, a teenager, ordered lobster. He was still famished when he finished his meal. If you pay $65 for an entree, you expect to be full when you're done eating. My other son and I ordered filets, both of which were overly done for the requested temperature. The mashed potatoes were cold, and the green beans left a lot to be desired. Since all of us were still hungry when we finished our meals, we ordered 2 desserts. More disappointment! The lava cake was laughable, and the creme brûlée was not cooked correctly. I'm really not difficult to please, but when a meal for 3 people is over $400, you expect more. This may have been my last trip to The Sun Dial for a while...at least until the quality improves.

We were upset to see that everyone was required to purchase an entree, because as it turned out my date was allergic to almost everything on the menu. We ended up spending money on food he was barely able to touch.

My husband and I have entertained guests at the Sundial three times now and have always had a fabulous time and this time was a huge disappointment. Eggs were cold and rubbery and the server was haughty and dismissive, he threw the dessert menus on the table in a pile. sorry Sundial, it will be awhile before we return

The food and service was great! It would be a much better experience if it was an adult only restaurant after 5pm. This is not a family restaurant and kids running around during a special occasion meal is not cool. It would also be nice if the dress code was enforced. Way too many people dressed WAY too casual for this type of venue. So sad this restaurant no longer turns. I hope that issue gets resolved soon so we can all enjoy what this restaurant was intended for once again. AND There are many adult only restaurants, and this would be a welcome addition to that prized list.
