The sundial is beautiful restaurant. However, valet was full and self parking was absolutely horrible. That garage is not constructed to fit the volume of traffic that comes in and out. The only downfall to the evening was the parking.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Took my fiancé out for her bday and we enjoyed every minute.
I really mind paying for food when you get something subpar, in this case I had no problem. The food was outstanding, the pricing on the lunch menu correct for both the restaurant and the quality. And although I’m not much of a drinker I left the table with three of the most delicious mojitos I could imagine. The service was outstanding and the location only adds to a great restaurant.
My family and I had brunch this past weekend and was just floored by the views and our lovely waitress. I would recommend the location to friends and family for those reasons. One of my kiddos ordered a burger and was not impressed with the flavor or dryness. It was well-done and that may have been part of the reason for some, but he has had a better well-done burger that was juicy for a fraction of the price. My other kiddos loved her seafood meal and the drinks, one which included a peach flavored was amazing.
Good place to go once. Food was terrible but service and sights were spectacular.
It was absolutely lovely. I have always loved going there... the ambience is amazing.
GREAT BUT THE RESTAURANT IS STILL NOT TURNING AFTER OVER ONE YEAR ???
Great service, great view, and great food. Enjoyable.
This place was more than what I expected and the view and ambiance was breathtaking.
Filet mignon cooked medium rare rather than medium well as ordered. Sent it back and still came back medium at best. Ate what we could but left the undercooked center. New York strip cooked medium as ordered but not nearly as tender as described. Vegetables were over cooked and one of the green sides was unidentifiable and inedible. The bourbon pecan pie was served cold, when it should have been warmed or at least room temperature. The setting is spectacular with the lights of the Atlanta skyline. But noise level was very loud from a four piece combo playing upstaging the bar. The bar is open to the downstairs dining room so sound carried like you were sitting next to the band. This was our 20th wedding anniversary, so we hoped for a special evening. Should have gone somewhere else. The meal and tip was over $200.00.
Was there for an occassion. Views are mediocre when you compare with high rise dining experience elsewhere. Menu has very less variety. Food is average. It is overpriced because of the fine dining experience.
One of the best restaurants in the city! Everything from the view to the food to the service was amazing!
Great service and good food. Awesome view.
Pleasant atmosphere with stunning views. We really enjoyed walking around the observation level before being seated for lunch. The server, Stephania, was excellent - very pleasant, knowledgeable about the view/buildings, and patient while answering our questions! The food presentation was beautiful; however, the taste of the burgers was just average, really not quite what was expected from the Sun Dial, and the Reuben was a disappointment in taste. It looked amazing, but the meat was not pleasant. I mostly ate the bread and sauerkraut. It was very disappointing, especially for the price. The side salads (field greens, cucumbers with red & yellow cherry tomatoes, and blue cheese crumbles) were very tasty. Mine was actually the best part of my meal (the Reuben sandwich and side). Since none of the three meals rated very high with us, I don't think I/we would return for a meal, nor recommend to a friend. Just pay to ride the glass elevator and visit the observation level. We've only eaten there occasionally over the last 30+ years, but this time the food was quite a disappointment compared to a few years ago.
We had a family Sunday brunch. The French Toast was superb. Shrimp and grits were the best I’ve had. Great view. Excellent service
Free valet if your stay is less than 3 hrs
It was lovely, but to be honest I expected.. more. The food was ok, but nothing wow for the price of the brunch. The thing that bugged me the most is that they don't have ANYTHING to commemorate a birthday, not even a writing on a plate. I would expect that from a special place like that.
This is a very nice restaurant in Atlanta - a must try if visiting!
Customer service is terrible. Our waitress wasn’t pleasant at all. I don’t like spicy food so I mentioned it to her before ordering. The appetizer ( crab cake) was good but really spicy. The waitress didn’t provide plates for the appetizer so we had to ask another waitress for the plates. We ordered the scallops which come with a sauce that she said it was a little spicy so I told her to place on the side. It comes with rice, the rice is like a fried rice kind of dish. It was super spicy, had a lot of pepper. We also ordered the New York strip steak, the cut was soft and cooked as requested but it had so much pepper that we couldn’t eat it, it was so spicy that it was unbearable. The steak comes with veggies and potatoes on the side, was also extremely spicy. We had to return it.
The restaurant view is beautiful, breathtaking. But is not working, it used to revolve around and once I was already there they told us that it wasn’t working for the last two years. This info is on their website but it is not posted on open table so I made the reservation thinking that I was going to have the same experience I had the last time I went
For a $50 per entree menu, the food tasted no better than Ruby Tuesday. Beer menu offers a whopping option of two beers on draft. Very disappointing for an Atlanta restaurant. Also, the sundial is known to be the revolving restaurant..guess what? It’s under renovation and not revolving. No where in their website or description does it call out that this is the case. Brought visitors here to a complete disappointment. Won’t recommend to anyone even for a drink. Want a view of the city..Atlanta has so many more options now. Sundial really needs to up their game. Only saving grace for the evening was that we had a good waiter.
Sun Dial was much more than I had anticipated! The staff was amazing, the food was wonderful, the view was breathtaking! I plan to return when I’m in the Atlanta area!
We had a great time for a birthday dinner and enjoyed the experience. Food was good and the view was awesome! However, I don't know why we were sat next to a party of 10+ when the restaurant was 1/2 full...Very loud...
I would hesitate on recommending a friend at this time because the facility doesn't rotate. I'm sure it's due to previous safety concerns but that should be mentioned on the website.
We were celebrating two birthdays. Sad that the rotation wasn’t working but still beautiful & nice.
This is my kids favorite restaurant. The food is always very good and the service is excellent.
I would recommend a visit to the view, but not to eat. The food is style over substance and does not offer value for money. The chef has taken basic pub food and over stylised it, but not improved it. We sent 1 course back uneaten, had to modify another because of how it was served made it impossible to eat. Just don’t bother, you can look at the view without having to eat. The restaurant is not rotating which takes away a lot of the appeal. The staff on ground floor reception couldn’t have been less helpful if they tried, we were told they could not let us up for lunch as they were very busy. If we wanted to try and book online we could. 2 mins later having booked on line in front of reception for the current time we were allowed to the lifts. The lifts were slow to arrive, so it took 10mins to reach the restaurant, which was about 10% occupied. The only thing I would recommend is the view, but don’t go at busy times as you will have to wait an age for the lift.
The absolute best meal and service. We had a wonderful first experience. Crab cake appetizer was the best I’ve ever eaten. Only negative is that reservations fill up fast so please plan ahead.
Ann, our server, was the best. She made my South African family very cheerful and loved. We really enjoyed here service. She is the best in the restaurant.
Great Customer Service. Our Server Billy was great
Two years ago we went here for the 4th of July and had an amazing experience. We had a choice of entrees and an amazing gourmet play on S'mores for dessert. We chose to spend our 4th of July here again not only for the fantastic view but for an enjoyable meal. The confusing Buffet that was presented to us was a disappointment. Over cooked pasta dishes, dry salmon, and salty fried chicken were just some of the disappointments. Dessert is not even worth mentioning. I think they could have stepped it up a bit for $110 per person.
The information given about the 4th of july event was misleading. We were aware of the buffet option, but nowhere in the reservation confirmation did it say that they wouldn't be serving items from the normal menu. We didn't want anything from the buffet. The confirmation sent even had the normal menu in it! Why would you mislead us by adding that and not clearly let us know that we only had the buffet option?
We decided to leave. At least we got our parking ticket validated....
Got food sick. Was there for 4 hours, the last one in the bathroom. The semt women amd men into ladies bathroom to verify thr issue.
(There was no excess drinnking...two bottles 3 adults over 3 hours.)
Management made no concession....it was down right horrible.
Delicious shrimp and grits but the shrimp were not deveined! Had to devein the shrimp each time I wanted to eat one. The rest of the dishes were great!!!. The live entertainment could have been much better with all the talent available in Atlanta.
We were very disappointed! The service staff was unorganized. The night we went for dinner was buffet style however we were not told this when we made the reservation. It was way overpriced for what was offered. We will not be returning.
My husband and I enjoyed wonderful 4th of July /his birthday celebration at an exclusive Party at the Sundial Bar & View. A wonderful selection of food station and table service . A 360 view of all the fireworks in Atlanta from Stone Mountain to downtown. In fact, we had a fantastic view of the Georgia Aquarium the launch of the fireworks just a few blocks away near Centennial Olympic Park. Very nice ambiance and the lobster raviolis were phenomenal! The Long Island Ice Tea was perfect too!!! I recommend this restaurant.
July 4th at the Sundial is not recommended. We stayed here for the Peachtree Road Race and wanted to have dinner somewhere close. They didn't take reservations until 30 days prior. So once 30days came we found out it was going to be a buffet and would be $110/pp. By then it was too late to go somewhere else close by so we were virtually stuck. The restaurant was nice unfortunately the rotating area has been off for a couple years (also was not informed of this). The food was ok at best good variety but definitely was a price gouge event. We wish we could have ordered off the menu and not had the buffet. But as they say when in Rome do as the Romans. In this case the only option this late was the Buffet or go down to the Waffle House. Sorry not a good experience.
One last thing I must share, after sitting at out table for about 10 min the Manager stopped by our table with an odd request. He said "there is an older German couple who would like to sit with you at your table". We were sitting at a 4 seat table both on 1 side. I said no to this request. We asked out waitress about this and she said she had never heard of such a thing, only that maybe they overbooked and was trying to get more people in. Very tacky for this request.
To end the evening, we got our bill and had another surprise. Keep in mind this was a buffet, an 18% gratuity was added to our food and drink bill. That is pretty tacky as well. I understand if we were a party of 6 or more but we were only 2. Let me decide what to tip. It is a TIP!!
Food is pretty good but ambiance is great. If it didn’t have the view that it has I would have been disappointed by the experience.
Very pleasant evening. Great views, excellent meal and nice atmosphere. All the staff were excellent. Ann, our server, was wonderful. The jazz trio were very pleasing.
Billy’s service was amazing! Enjoyed the seared scallops entree with the peach martini.
