Nice experience. There were large groups of cheerleaders. Kids running around in socks and a lot of people out of dress code. If we are going to pay for a valentine's experience it would be nice if everyone was held to the dress good standards on a holiday. Also, my lobster tail came out raw, which they deducted from the total cost. Steaks were amazing.
I was there with a friend to celebrate her birthday. We were both nicely dressed, she in a lack dress and heels. I in slacks a dress shirt and a blazer. They seated us across from a group of what appeared to be a girls cheerleading squad...about 14 of them in a booth, with a out four or 5 parental chaperones. They were dressed in sweat suits and were, well, teenage cheer leaders! It was loud and borderline obnoxious. I was going to ask that they move us, but thankfully, the group left before our food arrived so we got to enjoy our meals and hear each other speaking without having to raise our voices. Other than that, everything else was great! The service, the setting, the food! I'll go again, but maybe for dinner next time rather than lunch.
Great service and genuine care from MiMi during our lunch at the Sun Dial. Great dining experience. I would return and definitely recommend to a friend. The cuisine was very tasty from appetizers, to the main meal, to coffee and desert.
It was nice and amazing ! Perfect ! Elegant and the restrooms were clean! Service was awesome and people were so nice.
It was an amazing experience and the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
My girlfriends steak was well below expectations.
Everything was fantastic. I took my wife on Valentine’s Day, there was a special menu and it was delicious. Everything we ordered was truly exceptional. Every staff member we interacted with was professional and seemed truly committed to making our night special. Our table was ready on time, the atmosphere was fantastic, the flowers I ordered were on our table when we got there, and our server was top notch. I would definitely recommend bringing your significant other here for a special occasion or just for a great meal and great service.
We were here for Valentines day dinner. The food was outstanding and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions. Service was great also.
This would be my first comment/rating ever. We went for Valentines. Read a lot of reviews that this is Thee best place to go in Atlanta.
I had reserved and put $100 deposit for this night.
We first get the beef tartare - I ate mine and my date’s because I was very hungry. But you can tell that it’s been sitting out for a while - it had turned brown/black in the middle - not a great start.
Then we got our salad and scallops. The scallops were warm.. obviously it had been sitting out before it came to the table and tasted mediocre.. no taste. The puree beneath it was tasteless.
Then we got our surf & turf and Ravioli. The Ravioli was mushy and again, obviously had been sitting there for a while - cold. Not much flavor combined with it being cold - pretty bad.
The surf & turf - the steak was cold/warm. Again, had been sitting there for a while. The lobster was warm - not hot.
We ate half of the surf and turf (not even), and ate 1 ravioli. We left the rest.
The manager came over and asked us how our night was going. We said good but then I was honest about the experience but was extremely nice. He stayed and talked with us for 10 minutes and appreciated our honesty and constructive feedback. He said that he will be taking care of us. He ended up taking out only $50 from the bill. After the discount, I ended up paying $335 for the meal. It’s not about the money, but for that price and for that night, food should be amazing and impeccable experience.
I believe we should have paid for our bottle of wine and $50 for the food. Especially that we didn’t even eat our food. We sent it back.
For $335 dinner, the experience and food was very bad. Would not recommend this place. Also, the manager is nice but he was mainly just talk - didn’t really do anything to rectify our experience.
Always unsurpassed, excellent in every way. A bit pricey, but expected.
Everything was great but dessert very small for price
It’s not often when great food takes a back seat to the view , but in this case it does. We sat facing west - it’s not revolving right now - and it was epic. And the food was equally great except for the bread which was weak.
Everything was perfect except the floor still is not rotating. FIX IT!! That is one of the main things that sets this restaurant apart from the others in Atlanta. The food and cocktails were amazing!!
Classic dining location in Atlanta. If visiting, a must visit location where reservations are highly recommended.
there food is really good.
but, service was terrible.
I don't know why they work on there.
service associate was not trained.
I don't want a go there anymore.
We had a great experience with David. He knew the menu and the area. The meal and meal service was great. Second time I've visited and had a consistent experience.
Our server Ana was amazing! The view is cool and the food was delicious. Highly recommend for a nice night out.
Overall good experience but we were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time. Then it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. The service was excellent and food delicious but definitely overpriced. The fact that the restaurant doesn’t rotate anymore is also somewhat a negative.
Great quality food, small menu but delicious options. We ordered the crab cake for an appetizer and its delicious. The Tomahawk steak will definitely feed two and the bbq pork chops melt in your mouth. Amazing view but unfortunately it no longer spins. The setting is calming and great for a special occasion. The service was great from the Valet to the waiter.
I took my wife to the sundial for our anniversary and I can honestly say that this was one of the best experiences of my life. The food was great the service was amazing. We will definitely be going back.
The chicken was delicious. My date had the New York strip steak and she enjoyed it.
We had long looked forward to dining here - we were not disappointed in the experience! We took my 10 yr old grand daughter for her first really nice diner, I'm sure it was something she will always remember. She had the Chilean Sea Bass, and while not a kids meal, she really liked it. My wife and I really liked our entrees as well, having the filet mignon and lamb. Great presentation and taste!
I took my girlfriend there for her 36th early birthday which she never knew about. I had a group of 10 people that never been there before and we all LOVED IT ! She was surprised with the group of people that came. Although the rotation was unavailable for us we still had an amazing time. The food was AMAZING and Ms. Ann was so RESPECTFUL and she made sure we enjoyed ourselves. I would definitely go there again 🖤
wonderful experience. will definitely come back again
Our first time in Atlanta and a really short trip so we chose to dine here as we were staying at the hotel - it was such a good decision. Amazing views (72nd floor), delicious food (save room for desert, the pecan pie was fantastic) and a brilliant server, Ann Turner. This lady is such an asset to the restaurant, friendly, helpful and amusing with great stories. She also made sure we got our photo taken at the end of the meal with the city behind us. This is not an 'on a budget' experience but I would recommend it.
Someone please tell me when ripped jeans and cowboy boots became business casual? And when it was permissible to be so drunk that you sang so no one could have a conversation? Both of these things were allowed the night I was there - happy birthday to me.
The service is very good and the views of Atlanta walking around the restaurant, bar are beautiful. Don't rotate anymore, the walk around is energizing. Looking forward to coming back.
It was beautiful. I reserved my table for sunset and the view was absolutely breath taking. Jeff was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu. Great experience. I would go back and suggest to friends.
Only fair food at very high prices. View is good but not worth the price. I will not return.
Excellent dinner and excellent view! Had the lamb chops and Waygu beef entrees along withe the scallops and crab cake appetizers.
The overall experience was very good. I was really impressed for the most part. The only thing that most of the people that attended last night because it was our first Sun Dial experience, that it hasn’t rotated in 2-3 years and we missed that experience and was the reason I brought my date and were a little disappointed about that. But other than that, overall it was amazing! Great view of Atlanta, romantic setting, we had a 5 star waiter, the food was beyond excellent, although pricey but because of the experience, it made it worth it! This is a wonderful restaurant to dine at for special occasions!
It was awesome
Took my daughter there for her 11th Birthday. It was a special night with just her and I. She got the Virgin Fruit Mashup with the Chicken and I got the New York Steak! Yum!
Northern view was perfect since I am Georgia Tech Alumn.
We enjoyed ourselves very much!
Tomahawk steak was absolutely delicious! Sea bass was a touch dry, maybe slightly over cooked or possibly sat under heat lamp ... but had good flavor. Sides were very good and the service was perfect! Can't wait to go again!
Hosting friends from San Francisco.
Celebrating a special occasion with a special friend. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the view was beautiful. Definitely a top shelf experience!
The view is phenomenal. Peter, our waiter, again, was superb and flawless. Would suggest a few more lower and lighter price point items on the menu (though what’s on the menu is very good; portions are large and “heavy”).
Everything was great. Awesome food, gorgeous sight view, good service. A little bit expensive, but worth the experience.
