The breakfast with Santa was fantastic family fun!!
Very good service, I left my iPad and Security was so great, Mrs. Ann is a real good person and a access to the company very professional and she was really great she will be the reason, I'm going to be coming back on my next stay when in the Atlanta area.
Thanks Western for your great employee
Mrs. Ann in Security.
I took a out of state guest for dinner hoping they would enjoy the experience of a rotating restaurant with a panoramic view of the city of Atlanta. Unfortunately the restaurant rotation mechanism is currently down for maintenance until some time in 2019. However the view was still very lovely, dinner was enjoyable and service was great.
The room did not revolve. It was broken. Also, the steaks were tough and the bread was stale. I was very disappointed. The staff was excellent and the manager offered a 10% discount and free dessert for the poor quality of the food. For the price, I would not go back.
We go here every year for our office ornament exchange. It was definitely more fun when the restaurant rotates. There were 5 of us and we were crammed at a round table that was directly in the sun. They said there was no where else they could seat us even though 3/4 of the restaurant was full. I had to wear sunglasses. It just seems thoughtless to put a table when the sun is right in 1/2 the table's eyes. Food is way overpriced, but you are paying for the ambiance. Food is good though. $9 for cornbread is very high, but they are delicious! I had a lamb burger which was good, and the french fries and homemade potato chips are fantastic. They do charge $1 per person for their 'filtered' water, which is ridiculous. They don't even tell you up front. But we asked it to be removed and they kindly did. My two colleagues had the fried chicken salad and love it.
I was excited to take my wife here for her birthday until I was was met with prejudice. As we were following a group to the elevator that takes you to the restaurant, the hostess stops my wife and I and asks us if we have a reservation and not the group. To her surprise we did. We continue to make our way to the restaurant and we're excited again. It was until we met our server that the experience at the Sun Dial began to fall apart. In comparison how we saw him treat other guests, it was made clear that we were not welcome here. He pulled the chairs for the other guests, the food reached the guests that arrived after us before ours arrived (we waited for our salads to arrive), he told us there are no specials offered here (we didn't ask for specials), he didn't even try to up sell us any dessert or alcohol. He pretty much abandoned us and until it was time to bring the bill which he asked us if we want our parking validated, I informed him that we are guests of the hotel and we are not driving. I paid the bill cash and left him a tip. With that said, I redeemed my wife's birthday and took her to Mary Mac's Tea Room where they know customer service and don't descriminate where the dollar is coming from. By the way the server was of Caribbean descent named "Eve".
It was a nice restaurant. I was disappointed that the restaurant wasn't rotating anymore. I really wanted my wife to experience that. She had never been to the restaurant before.
The service, ambience and food were all great. Ann was such an amazing host.
We had an excellent brunch. The food was very, very good. We enjoyed the views of Atlanta also.
The service and food were impeccable. Everything is an 11 on a 10 point scale. We will definitely return.
We loved it for the dining, unfortunately the rotation wasn't working due to the mother nature we didn't see a thing. we will return. But enjoy the experience.
I was pleasantly surprised to see St. Pauli Girl non alcoholic beer on the menu. I have been a non alcoholic drinker for 30 years. European non alcoholic beers are far superior to American. So to say the least, I was beyond disappointed when the waitress came out with Odules.
Of course, I was disappointed about the beer. But I more disappointed in the restaurant's purchase of an inferior product for such a classy restaurant. You don't get a second chance to make a great first impression. It obviously put me on guard for the meal.
Becks, Heinekin, Crusthauler, Guiness, all make outstanding non alcoholic beers with the flavor of a regular brew.
The meal and the service was outstanding.
It was a good experience overall. The crabcakes were amazing. The lobster and grits was not as tasty as the menu description and the Salmon was a little bit more oily than I would have like. The drinks were good and worth the price. Our server provided exceptional service. Because the rotating feature does not work we were not able to get a 360 degree view of the city. However on the elevator ride we saw a lot and we sat at a table with a good view.
Unfortunately the food was mediocre — my husband mine was smothered in the mushroom sauce that you could only taste sauce! My broccoli was cold and when I had asked the manager if I could switch out whatever the potato dish was on my plate, he was seriously lacking in customer service. He looked at me like “are you kidding?” . Disappointed as the quality of food & service from the manager did not reflect the bill! Oh, and seriously— charging for your tap water?! Is the additional $2 so desperately needed ? Left a bad taste in my mouth , no pun intended.
Overall, if you want an incredible view , this is perfect. Maybe come for drinks at the restaurant bar to begin your night and save your money and go else where for dinner.
Great service; great atmosphere; food better than average but not to expected standard
Our waiter Yves was excellent ! Service was impeccable. The food was amazing even if pricey . I had the crab cake and the scallops . Both dishes were excellent!
It’s a shame the restaurant doesn’t rotate anymore and I couldn’t quite here the Jazz as we were dining . I would definitely go back .
Overall good experience. Came from the Federal Student Aid Conference (Atlanta Native) during lunch. Server was very nice and prompt with service. Fairly disappointed that the floor was not spinning, but I understand why it wasn’t.
We went there for our wedding anniversary. It was spectacular. The views were breathtaking, the food was incredible, although I didn’t know the scallops appetizer was only 2 scallops, but it was creative and very tasty. Live band playing above us, it was overall incredible.
Amazing restaurant with outstanding service. My only compliant was when I went, the restaurant was not doing its famous rotating, to which I was highly looking forward. They were polite enough to call ahead and inform me of this, but no real explanation for why. For future guests, would suggest making sure it is rotating, makes every last penny worth the view and experience. Overall, wonderful date night and highly respected establishment.
Not at all what we were expecting.
- Valet service was really nice.
- Nice view.
Cons: Everything else.
Aside from the valet personnel, it felt like the employees were not part of this upscale restaurant. Waiters, hostess, food runners, cooks, etc. We were expecting very good service, but it was not even acceptable. The food was overpriced. How can you mess up 2 burgers on opposite sides of the spectrum? My wives burger, she asked for medium well, got it fully cooked on the inside with a burned outside. I asked for medium rare, which I always order my meats that way, and it was way under cooked.
Once arrived we learned that the restaurant had stopped spinning about a year ago due to some accident with a child. I should have done some more research.
I took my mother and grandmother, which came to visit from Germany, to both the Sun Dial restaurant and Williamson Brothers Bar-B-Q restaurant, the said that the whole experience was better at the BBQ.
Long story short, we will not be visiting again.
Love the view and the staff... would recommend this place over and over again.
This was an incredible venue with great food and even better views.
1 anniversary me and my wife had a great time
Expected this well-known restaurant to have better tasting food. Quality of the food was excellent (great portion size too) but the preparation could have been elevated. I had NY strip and my fiance had halibut. They were just ok- both needed more seasoning and the sides were disappointing. The atmosphere was amazing. Service was excellent. Make sure you don't go on a foggy day- we couldn't see anything outside the windows which was a bummer. Probably won't return any time soon. You can get better tasting food with a similar ambiance at many places in Atlanta such as Mortons.
The experience was good, the food was really good but not as good as it’s been before.
Great place, but would like to have the restaurant rotate again.
Gabriella was a sweetheart. Cheers to her! I started off with a Bloody Mary and it was good. The corn chowder was delicious for a starter. I had the shrimp and grits for my main course. It was okay. I guess my expectations were a bit high. My mom had the Reuben and it was yummy! Ended off with the creme brûlée! Might pass on brunch next time, but will be back for dinner since the menu is a bit more extensive
We got a window seat and the view was great! The food was delicious and service was good too!
excellent ambience ideal for a romantic dinner or a special occasion! very good attention
It was good 38 years ago and still good for special occasion as it is pricey
Easily accessible from the Westin's lobby, this place is a must-see. Go up and have a beer - you need to see the view.
The Sun Dial features an array of elegant meals along with a breathtaking view of the city no matter where you're seated. My husband and I recently visited for our honeymoon and we both agreed that it was absolutely worth the drive. The service was immaculate, the ambiance oozed of romance and elegance, and the elevator ride up was something you would not want to miss. We only had one wish: To see more vegan and gluten free options available. All and all, my husband and I absolutely LOVED this restaurant and we look forward to dining here again the next time we're in Atlanta.
The Girlfriend's Brunch had an elevated feel due to our experience at the Sundial. The trout and grits dish was a hit. The ambiance and view of Metro Atlanta was spectacular despite the absence of rotation of the restaurant.
Amazing!! Great overall experience. Food and service were absolutely perfect. Will be back the next time I visit Atlanta.
The restaurant was not revolving due to maintenance issues. That was disappointing
I throughly enjoyed my experience. My waiter was great and I would come here more often if my budget allows me too.
Insane view at the top of the Westin, just wow; food was just ok though and a little overpriced imho. Worth a visit, but don't expect the dining to match the view.
I was charged an amount on my card for a meal I did not pay for on top of the meal that I actually ate. I’ve been calling the managers office for the past weekend and I have not been called back or EVERYTIME other time it’s disconnected. I’m really upset!
Great ambiance, great experience for our first visit. It was my birthday and it was a nice choice for a birthday dinner. Our waitress Ann Tucker was EXCELLENT!! She was very energetic, fun, and informative about the city since we had questions being from out of town. We will definitely visit again.
