Everything about this place was amazing...from the waiter, the atmosphere, the view, the menu (delicious!!🤤) Worth Every penny 👌🏽
It's my first trip with my girlfriend together，and the dinner is unforgetable with the view！
It was fantastic and Luxurious. The server was extremely helpful and polite. The food is everything. This was my best birthday dinner with friends. All thanks to Sun dual restaurant
The food and service was great. The new chef has larger portions than before, but the prices didn’t jump. I only hate that it doesn’t revolve any more...I’m sure many people feel that way.
Good view, decent service, but VERY overpriced. I could have created a better meal at 1/4 the price at home.
The Sun Dial exceeded all my expectations! From the glass elevator ride and back, I was just so thrilled to be there. Everything I ate was absolutely wonderful, the staff was all courteous and pleasant and efficient, and the atmosphere was so beautiful and fun to be in. A truly amazing experience, one I hope to repeat!
Very excited to spend my birthday there with friends but disappointed the restaurant wasn’t spinning. Great food and service as always.
The food and service was great. It’s disappointing that it no longer spins, but I understand why. I still enjoyed myself.
The food was creatively presented and delicious! But ANN, our waitress, made the experience into an event! She welcomed us with a genuineness and warmth that truly reflected Southern hospitality. She knew the menu well and anticipated the appetites, the serving size, and the drink and desserts desired by a group of ladies 75 years old. She very efficiently served just as we were ready for the next course. What a credit she is to your restaurant. Thank you!
Terrible experience! The restaurant's rotation feature was unavailable until an undisclosed amount of time due to "maintenance". Our table was not ready at the scheduled time. We were not attended to by a waiter until 15 min after being sat down at the table. The food and alcohol had to be returned back multiple times (e.g. beer was stale and steaks were over cooked). The valet parking was validated, but we had to still pay $25 for being over 3 hours (this is NOT disclosed on the ticket not did anyone let us know). This was determined after we paid $360.00 for a dinner for four guests. Overall, not a great night at the Sun Dial.
It was a good evening of quiet relaxing while dining on a delicious steak
Overall bad experience. I came for a special lunch with my two sons. 1 ordered pizza and a side of fruit and the other ordered pb&j with green beans. They forgot to bring my first son's fruit, and they brought a salad instead of green beans for the other. I am vegan and ordered the mushroom melt with no cheese or aoili. I stated that I was vegan to the waitress and couldn't have any dairy or other animal products. She told me her mother was vegan and she was considering going vegan as well, she was familiar with the diet. Well, my sandwich came and they had grilled the bread in butter. Also, they had left off the jalapenos. I tried to find our waitress, but she never came back to check on us. I had to stop the bus boy in order to get the green beans, fruit, and jalapenos. He did not speak much English and couldn't understand the problem with my sandwich. I was starving, and we were freezing because we were sat beneath an air vent, so I ate it. Then we had to keep waiting until our waitress finally came back and I asked for the check. that was the first time she had stopped by the table since we placed the order. I told her about all of the problems, and she had one of the kids meals removed. I ended up paying $35 (not including tip) for that meal. And yes, I still tipped her. Horrible experience. Would have expected more. Will not be back.
Very disappointed because restaurant does NOT rotate now! I was there in late Sept. 2017 and it was rotating. Will check first before booking reservation at Sun Dial next time!
Took my son for his birthday. He was very upset dining room was not rotating. Food was good but not for price. I ordered a small birthday cake for 2 but only my son got some kind of Java brownie which he did not like. The waiter just brought it and set it down like regular order. No song or happy Birthday! Very bad experience for 300 dollars. Will never come back and never advise anyone else to either.
Gabriella was an incredible server. She was very knowledgeable and eager to assist us with our every need. She was very genuine and it was obvious that she wanted us to have a good experience at the sundial.
Service great and atmosphere.. drinks great. Appetizers but dinner not so awesome. Staff and manager did their best to make it better.
The Sun Dial is one a of many Restaurants in the Atlanta area that we regularly enjoy going to for date night. We always have amazing service and the food is always flavorful, just the right portion size. The view is great. Over the years though the dress code policy doesn't seem to be enforced like I think it should. The last year times there have been tons of people in everyday street clothes, shorts-t-shrts-shorts jerseys-ball caps- even saw someone with flip flops on. etc.
The customers use to all get dressed up to go there. I would like to see them step up on that aspect. But i'm sure it's due to them not wanting to turn away any business to make the money.
But over all great place otherwise. They haven't been running the turning feature either of the building I guess since the "Incident" that happened a lil while back. But the views are still amazing from just about any table.
The main selling point of the restaurant is the amazing views and the rotating dining room. Unfortunately the rotating dining room is currently down for maintenance. The food was great and so was the stationary view
The Sundial was great. It was the BEST steak I have ever had. I’m still tasting it now. My wife has never been there and absolutely loved it. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. The server was fantastic.
Amazing!! Food and service was great!
Thanks to our waiter Corey for going above and beyond to make it a great night for the family as it was first time in Atlanta for them
We visited Westin Peachtree Atlanta for a Spring Break stay. All of the staff at the hotel was great and The Sundial was absolutely wonderful. The scallops and steak were hands down some of the best entrees we’ve ever had. The views were wonderful, too.
Let’s face it: you ONLY come here to eat for the view. The food is pricey and “better than average” but you’re paying for the view. Our server was EXCELLENT (I forgot her name!!!) and she was very engaging with our child. That’s a huge bonus for us. Maybe I would have enjoyed a sunset drink but we came during lunch.
Oh! Hubby had the trout: moist, flavorful, excellent. I had the winter salad with grilled chicken: bite sized portions, tasty, mixed very well. My child had something off the kids menu, which was THE best meal served to the table 😋😋😋
Using Open Table to book the reservation was great. The crab cake was great. The tomahawk steak was smaller than I’ve seen elsewhere. It wasn’t worth the price. The rotational feature of the restaurant has been suspended indefinitely due to an accident where an unattended child was killed.
The views were nice, but having the rotating dining room was way better.
Beautiful views and very cool elevator ride. But super over-priced food that was pretty mediocre. $46 for an entree with gummy potatoes. Just go there to get a glass of wine with a nice view and then go somewhere else for dinner.
We loved the views from 70+ stories up! Food is pricey but very good. Service was great. Floor was not rotating when we were there, we heard it's supposed to start back up soon. But you can go up a level to the observation areas and still see great 360 views.
Nice restaurant on the 72nd floor of the hotel. I went there at 7:30pm and watched the sunset, then the city lights at night. Beautiful view of Atlanta. Great food, dessert even better! Definitely going back.
Great food, great service!
I wish someone would have told me the room is "on hold" until further notice.
Stupid me, Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Bait N' Switch, Sucks to be me!
If I was given advanced warning, I would have made other arrangements.
Instead, I was stuck (literally).
Stupid me twice, I thought there was going to be some sort of spectacular Easter Menu.
Instead, what five, six entrees?
And tagged for filtered water, I guess I should be happy it was lead-free?
You should have been packed, every body else was, maybe a third full.
I made a bad choice... So...
Combined with a so-so room, Lazy valet, the worst self-parking I have ever seen.
You missed the mark, my best guess is you have given up and stopped trying.
Things happen, I get that, now get back on the horse.
Simply a breathe taking view!!! And such an amazing time!!! Definitely a once and a lifetime experience if you are not from the area and visiting it for a few days!! :) I give it 6 stars :)
The reception person on the 5 th floor is Rude
Also people do not ans phone when you call
If should be posted on web site that the restaurant rotation table is broken therefore restaurant does not spin around to view city.
Been there several times.
This was the most exceptions.
Usually it’s a perfect experience.
Marginal value. Good view and food but service very very slow. Probably good for viewing Atlanta's area sights from a high vantage point but would not return unless service improves.
Disappointed to find that the rotation mechanism was inoperable, having talked it up leading up to our reservation. Hopefully, this will be repaired to allow for the unique function that truly gives the restaurant its name.
We love this restaurant. The only negative thing I can say is that I don't like the fact that they no longer rotate. I understand that there are reasons behind that, but the rotating was part of the reason you are willing to pay $200 for a meal. Just my opinion. Otherwise, we still love this place. And to my knowledge, there's no place in town with a better view while you eat dinner.
Wow-Sun Dial is not what it used to be. Average food, below average service and the floor no longer rotates.
Great band on Thursday evening...that was the only thing that made this dinner enjoyable.
We really liked this place, my shrimp and grits was delicious, but we were disappointed that the rotating aspect of the restaurant was not turned on. I asked the host if it was broken, and he said no. I asked if it was under maintenance, and he said no. I asked why it was not turned on, and he said because we just don’t have it on.
It was a very enjoyable experience and one I will never forget. The view is amazing and just stunning.
I really miss the rotate view. And I wish you could celebrate a birthday their.
We will definitely enjoyed eating here at the The Sun Dial. It has a really nice view for sure!
