This was our first and last time we will patronize Suumit Grill! Overall value was poor. We couldn’t tell you our servers name since he didn’t tell us! Entrees came out minutes after we were served our salads. Had to ask for our water to be refilled multiple times. The lighting was so poor that we had to use our flashlights to read the menu. Very disappointed with our experience.
We have eaten at Summit Grill many times, as a couple and with friends, but this was our worst visit ever. It was a Saturday night, but the restaurant side was not very busy. we started off with drink orders and the 2 glasses of wine were not correct. The server tried to convince me that the wine was correct but it was not even close. 2 new glasses and that was sorted out. One my food order, I had asked that the side vegetable be substituted out due to a food allergy. When the order came, the correct vegetable came out, but as I was eating the other vegetables were just under the rest of the food. Not good when you are dealing with a food allergy. I pointed this out to the server and her comment was "OK, so they messed up, what do you want me to do". That was the last time I saw her until it was time to pay the check. Normally Summit Grill is a great place to have a meal and meet with friends, but definitely not on this night.
Not impressed. Spent $180.00 on 3 adults and 2 children to eat on St.Patricks day for my wedding anniversary. 1st was appetizer. The crab dip was amazing but serving with a sealed .25 bag of chips at a cost of almost 20 bucks is a joke. Waitress was rare to see as see was covering 8 table and said she was only one on duty. We spilled a drink but was never offered any help. We had yo ask for some towels. We received one to clean the mess up with. The food was good. I doubt I will ever try again. When Mac n cheese is 30 bucks a plate with a few popcorn shrimp and small scallops in it. I think they can afford to hire more help to be staffed.
We started with the pot roast nachos. Lots of shredded roast, cheese, corn, black beans and red peppers over toasted chips. Really good. My chop salad was huge and also very good. I ordered a medium rib steak and it was perfect. The right pinkness, the right temperature and seasoning. I'm surprised at how noisy it is in the restaurant and also how dark it is, although it's sure not a complaint. We've always had excellent food here and that's exactly what we go here for.
Took 20 minutes to get limes for our water after asking three times. Took asking twice for chips. took forever to get meals. My husband asked for hamburger plain— nothing but meat and bun. We said just meat and bun three times. It came out with cheese on it. He was so hungr..
Another great experience at Summit Grill. My only, small issue this visit, was the server - she seemed to be a bit overwhelmed, forgot out drink orders and didn't have much of a table side manner in terms of conversing with us - but all was good.
Never disappointed when we go to Summit Grill!
I had purchased gift certificates at Xmas and that was a good value. I would like to see more plant based menu items since we aren't eating meat or dairy anymore it would make us come back more often if there were better options.
An open table reservation is worthless there. Do not expect to be seated when you arrive. I always have to wait 30 minutes on a Friday or Saturday night. Do not expect to be able to have a dinner conversation. Between the loud drunks at the bar and the loud drunks at the table next to us, the waiter could not hear us to take our order, and we could not hear each other, they even drowned out the crying babies. Although the food and service were good, I cannot say it was a pleasant dining experience, and I do not look forward to going back.
Waitress forgot drinks from bar to go with appetizer.
Happy Hour was so loud the dining area was not inviting
We've been to Summit Grill many times and the food is always delicious. Our server, Mark, was wonderful! We were celebrating our son's birthday and Mark remembered him from a few weeks prior when he was at Summit Grill on a first date. Mark even remembered where they were going after dinner! I strongly recommend asking for a table in Mark's section when booking your reservations.
Upon checking in we were told they were running about fifteen minutes behind- that is how long we waited and got a nice table for two. Waitress was right there and took our drink order, brought our drinks and took our food order. Food came in a timely manner and was excellent!
Food was average at best and overly priced. Got steaks...very disappointed
Great place to eat- Great tasting food - Fair price
Food was fantastic and the service was as well. There was an issue with the reservation, they didn't show we had one but luckily we were there early enough to still get a seat. Open Table doesn't always work.
We came for happy hour , but unless we sat in the bar area were not able to par-take. We were disappointed by that , but food was good.
We eat at Summit Grill a couple times a month. The food is very good and it is a great place to meet with friends.
Food and experience was great! Got to enjoy a great lunch with my sister and friend! The seating is nice and cozy and the bar was beautiful!
Food was great
Had a 7 pm reservation but wasn’t seated until almost 7:45 pm!
Our entrees came out less than 2-minutes after our appetizer!
Lees Summit Grille had a rough night. Disappointing.
Great service. Reservation was right one time. Great ribeye and salmon
This has been a longtime favorite of mine so we made a reservation for my birthday. We were put in what I was told is usually the group event room and were the only ones in there initially. We had our kids but had made an early reservation and the kids were well behaved. It felt like we were being hidden away (although it did fill up later) in a cold room with folding tables (I checked- literally a plastic folding table with a table cloth over it). Nothing against folding tables but not what I expect from a nicer place. The fish tacos are usually my favorite, but they were off. Kids had lemonade and it was super tart- not good. Kids meals come with ice cream and we had to remind waitress about it and she said “oh they want that?” I get it isn’t a place geared to families but there are lots of people who come with kids and it’s in the suburbs. I am hoping it was just an off night for food and service!
Our reservation was for 7:15. We got there at 7:10 and checked in with the host. She told us that they were running about 10-15 minutes behind. We grabbed a drink in the bar thinking that we would only have a short wait. At 8:00 we were finally seated - while we were waiting several people got tired of waiting for their turn and left or we would have gotten seated even later. (We would have eaten in the bar but the music was so loud we couldn't have a conversation). I was surprised that a manager never talked to us about our reservation delay, maybe 45 minutes later is normal here.
Regardless, I am so glad we waited for the dining room. Our waitress, Kelley was absolutely amazing! She was extremely conscience and went the extra mile to make sure our food, service and overall experience was perfect. Everything she recommended was amazing! If it hadn't been for her, our experience would have been 2 stars at the most and we definitely would not have been back. However, because of Kelley we will return. (But will make sure to allow extra time because of the reservation issue). If you go, make sure to get the lobster stuffed salmon; it was incredible and be sure to ask for Kelley!!
My wife and I had visited Summit Grill many times in the past and the food is always exceptional although a bit overpriced. We were extremely disappointed on this occasion as it was valentines day and we were expecting a nice, quiet, romantic table with the usual exceptional food and service; however this was not the case. It appeared as if they tried to "maximize" their profit capabilities due to it being Valentines day, and set us in the middle of the restaurant in a group of what appeared to be table cloth covered card tables next to a banquet sized table with a large party that had obviously been overserved with alcohol. We practically had to scream at each other to have any type of conversation in addition to being able to reach over and sample our neighboring diners meals if we had so desired. I won't say that I will never return; however we will definitely NEVER return expecting to be able to have a "romantic" encounter. I strongly believe their greed for profit overshadowed any type of concern for their diners experience. Next Valentines day I will definitely choose to have my $120 dinner for 2 at a more client focused establishment.
Awesome restaurant! Great food and good service! We always like to go to Summit Grill to celebrate special occasions and eat in their bar area! Love it!
We eat at Summit Grill alot. This was by far the most unpleasant experience we have had there.
With it being Valentines Day we did expect it to be a bit different, however we did have reservations, waited about 40 min for our table, it was in the bar area, which had been converted to dining for the night. Our food took forever to come out, the waitress was frazzled,
we typically look forward to the prime rib, it arrived cold and without the aujus or horseradish.
We do love Summit Grill, but will not return on a holiday.
Did not like the calamari all other food was very good. Also did not like the temporary tables setup for Valentine's Day.
Four of us went on Valentine's Day, normally we don't go out on that evening as it is always crowded everywhere, but with the reservation through Open Table, we got right in and got an excellent table in the corner. Service is good and the food is great. Calamari appetizer was enough for all of us to share a little bit. We all ordered the Surf and Turf, a Valentine special, and it was very good. My wife said later that it was the best she had ever had anywhere.
Went on Valentine’s Day, server forgot our bar drinks and we had to ask for them. Food was so so I have had better meals here.. could be turning more in to a lunch spot rather than a nice dinner place.. I hate to say it cause I feel a year ago food was way better.
Had a 5:30pm reservation and was seated promptly at 5:30. The waiter was by very quickly to take our drink order. He was very attentive without being overbearing. My wife had the salmon salad with chipotle dressing. She said it was great. I had the blackened Mahi-mahi tacos. Very tasty. Even though it was Valentine’s Day and they were completely booked, there was no rush to get done. We have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed it That is why we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day there.
The food is so impeccable; because of this, it was easy to overlook the crabby and unprofessional hostess. The wait staff, although friendly and very fast, were a bit unprofessional as well. Every bite of our food was so so so good; I can’t help but wonder just how much more Summit Grill could offer if they cared as much about their service as their food.
Food and service was excellent as always! Never had a bad meal there!
We went for an early Valentine's Day dinner. The food was excellent. Love the ambiance of this restaurant. The bar area is a little noisy but dining area is quiet mMy husband raved about his steak. I had the salmon and it was delicious. The service was great. We always enjoy our dining experience. Highly recommend.
The restaurant would not honor our reservation we made through open table. This is the second time we've had issues with a confirmed reservation that the restaurant wouldn't honor. The hostess was extremely rude, saying she would try to work us in, but couldn't promise anything. Even though we love the food and atmosphere, we won't go back because of repeated problems with restaurant honoring open table reservations.
We went to Summit Grill for an early Valentine's dinner. The food was fantastic as always. The waiter was helpful and responsive. My husband loves the BBQ Shrimp and Grits. I had the prime rib. Wonderful meal!
Great food as always!
food was great! they sat us on time for our reservation. constructive criticism: server could benefit from learning about wine service. We brought our wine and asked him to chill the white. he served it to us warm and then chilled the tiny bit left after pouring 4 glasses. Then, we asked to open our red wine so it could breathe and he opened it and poured it into our glasses immediately.
The food was very good and the atmosphere was very inviting. I made a 6:45 reservation, but we did not get seated until 7:00. We were able to find some seating in the bar and have some drinks while we waited. It was a very nice evening.
they were running behind in their reservations and we had to wait about 30 mins and i wasn’t happy about that. it’s always worth the wait
Our meal was delicious and our server very personable. Great evening with friends.
