Overall it was a great experience and the service was terrific. I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday. The food was very tasty - particularly the apps, but we were a little disappointed by the mains which were well within our capability (as a non-professional chef) to make ourselves at home. Perhaps because it's a very expensive restaurant I expected more exotic ingredients. It was very good nonetheless. I was disappointed to see a $7 charge for sparkling water on my bill when it wasn't mentioned by the waitress to begin with. I also wasn't a fan of the seating arrangement at the tables for 2 where quite often my chair was shoved aside by other guests coming from and going to the bathroom. The only reason I wouldn't recommend to my friends is because our bill came to $165 which could be put toward more authentic ethnic food in the city (just in my opinion). Super nice staff though!
We had an absolutely fantastic experience at the Sultan's Tent. It was my wife's birthday and her idea to go. We had four friends join us and everyone in our party enjoyed their dinner. The food was fantastic! I highly recommend a Tajine entree. Cooked and served in a traditional earthware dish helps trap the flavours in and offers a wonderful presentation. The belly-dancing show was great, with the entire restaurant clapping in unison. Two in our party were encouraged to join in, and one even received an honorary belly-dancing certificate! The staff were very quick and attentive. Watching them pour tea three feet above the cups was interesting. Incredible value! A three course meal, with a show starting at $55! Just make sure you come hungry!
A great dining experience for those looking for a fun night out. Staff were so personable and helpful with the menu. Belly dancer was wonderful and engaging. Food was very good and there were many options. We felt welcomed and comfortable and would definitely go back! Good for couples, families and friends.
This was a really cool night out and the food was great, but the ambiance is where they really killed it. There is a floor show on a Saturday night and the bellydancers were lots of fun.
Great experience. The food was tasty, the belly dancers were entertaining and the environment is fun and unique.
Amazing atmosphere, super friendly staff and a rare experience in the heart of toronto. We were a party of four reconnecting after the holidays and had an amazing time.
The ambiance, service and food were outstanding! .. I’m vegan and it’s sometimes challenging to find a mainstream restaurant with a lot of choice, especially on a prim five menu, but the dishes were so delicious and I had lots of choice. The atmosphere was really fun .. we loved the belly dancer and even jumped up and danced with her. We will definitely go again!
Very overpriced for what they offer
Dancer was fantastic.
Decor is fun.
Food was good not fabulous
Server was nice enough however after spilling drinks on two of our guests did not adjust the bill and that was not good customer service.
We still left a great tip and hope some of it went to the dancer.
I liked the waiter and the check in. Very nice and accommodating. However, I did not like the main host who was intrusive with my fiancée. He should not have asked if he can put her coat on while I was there. That was not appreciated because it made me and my fiancé feel uncomfortable. Aside from that, excellent place, people and ambiance.
Anton's service was unspeakably commendable. Friendly, professional and efficient. The food was great. We had the lamb shanks which was so juicy. The soup was almost on par of the one I make at home. The oasis treat dessert didn't live up to my expectations. The after-12 ambiance was incredible. Lots of dancing, group dancing and so on. I'll certainly come back soon to taste new things, especially the much-recommended seafood plates.
First time there for New Year’s menu, great service and amazing food, will be back soon.
New Years Eve
Everything was fabulous! However, the only draw-back; the drinks are expensive.
Great birthday dinner with loved ones. Would definitely recommend.
Very nice decor. Service was a bit slow but the food and ambiance was great. The fix price menu is worth when taking into account the show
I was here for lunch the menu was limited and only sandwiches were available which were good and delicious, my only issue was that we asked for regular water but the waiter served us sparkling water , I thought this is what the restaurant serves but instead they charged us for the water I think we should have been informed prior to placing the order , also they were very pushing asking to order drinks which I think was not good , when were said no to drinks as it was lunchtime they should have stopped. Apart from this the food was good , nice to see a coat service in a restaurant.
Anton made our night The service was outstanding given its Xmas time.
The decor is amazing, but the food is too expensive— the three course meal had the tiniest of portions and the show was very ordinary, and by show i mean a woman dancing between tables. For 55$ you can find a better place to eat, but if you crave Morrocan food, it’s really good if you’re willing to pay for tiny portions
Good show and food but overpriced for what you get. Portions are a bit small especially the baklava. Expect to spend well over $100 per person with a glass of wine and a coffee. The food was fine but not good value for the money. It is a nice experience but wouldn’t go back again.
Excellent experience, the wait staff were brilliant.
A very entertaining evening and a great place to take friends and visitors from out of town. Lovely ambiance and decor, good service and tasty food and wine. the highlight of course is the Belly Dance performance and the opportunity to join in yourself. If you do you even get a certificate. A lovely show that isn't too long so you can still chat and eat before and after. A most enjoyable evening.
Went on a Tuesday night, restaurant was almost empty. Food was ok, not fabulous. Service was good, entertainment was ok, but not fabulous. For the money, could have done better elsewhere.
Lovely Moroccan appetizers and chicken tajine (hot casserole). Wonderful service, especially as we were going to the theatre afterwards and traffice made us late for our reservation.
They overcharged us and wouldn’t give us an explanation why
We have entertained friends and family at Sultan’s Tent on many occasions and really enjoy our night. Not sure if management has changed but our experience was nothing like the past! Seating was very open, not intimate! In the past the lights were low and each seating area you thought you were in a private tent! Service was very slow, even when we commented the waiter laughed. Dancers were very good and encouraged us to dance! That was certainly the best part of the night.
I last visited over 10 years ago, loved it then, and it hasn't changed to this day!! Excellent service, food, entertainment, ambiance, loved it all!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary. Food was just okay but service was amazing. If you go there for ambiance and belly dancing show then you will enjoy a lot. Our server was very really great.
Great experience. Only criticism is that we were told that we need to be done at a certain time as the next group of guests would be coming through. Our cheque was presented to us without us asking and when we left there were many tables available.
Overall, not extremely happy with my experience here. Within 30 seconds of being seated, the waiter came up and asked if we were ready to order and when we said we needed a few minutes, he told us to please hurry because there is a time limit and they need to be able to accommodate more people. Already not starting off on a great foot. For my entree, I ordered the Samak Freekha (cod) and was unpleasantly surprised when it was brought to the table and it was covered in a cilantro paste. I understand this is just my personal preference, but I would have greatly appreciated if it had been indicated on the menu that there was cilantro in this dish, because I have an extreme aversion to cilantro and would've ordered something else. I took one bite and was unable to eat anymore of it.
The belly dancing show was very fun and definitely added to the experience, the appetizers and desserts were delicious, and my boyfriend enjoyed his braised short rib entree.
Would recommend this restaurant mostly for the environment and ambiance. It was a nice experience, but I personally would not come here again.
Definitely loved the Ambience and Staff. They were friendly attentive and sweet. None of us have been there before but will be back with other friends. Food was Good and suggestions made by our waiter were spot on Thanks Chris. see you next time.
What a great experience. Everyone was super friendly if a little disorganized. The food was so good and the dancers were amazing. We even got up and a learned a move or 2..
Great food and entertainment. Waiter dealt with an issue expertly. Highly recommend this restaurant
Loved the atmosphere and decor. Great intimate setting for dates. Excellent customer service. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Had a great time.
Amazing all around
What a wonderful experience, amazing service from beginning to end. The staff is very friendly and always ready I to help. Then performances are stunning. Definitely recommending this venue to everyone.
I really love the ambiance of this place- it's as if you're somewhere else when you first walk in, very cozy feels. The service was great, food was delicious, and the performances were definitely something you wouldn't normally see- which was amazing! We brought our parents here for their anniversary and they loved it! Really worth it if you want to find a place with some entertainment, yummy food and exotic atmosphere. Would highly recommend it if you want to do it up for a special occasion, a treat-yourself, or a nice romantic night out.
All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The experience makes me feel like I spent a night at Morocco.
Took my mom here for a late lunch. We booked the last slot before the restaurant closed so we were the only ones there. At least 3 groups walked in and asked if they were open, which I take as a good sign.
Our waiter, Mahmoud, was excellent. He was warm, gracious and gave us prompt service without smothering us. We were not that familiar with Morroccan food and he explained the menu to us really well. His recommendations were spot on!
We had the harisa soup to start, the croquant for our main, fries on the side, and crême brulée for dessert. The flavour all around was incredible! The harisa soup had lots of spices, the seafood in the croquant was cooked really well, and the crême brulée was the right thickness (not too thick or too runny) and tasty. The fries were seasoned and came with a delicious, smoky dipping sauce. The whole experience was like a flavour safari.
The restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Palm trees, tasteful string lights, Moroccan lanterns, ornate ceiling fans. The back of the restaurant looks like a luxurious desert tent, which makes the restaurant's name make sense. You really feel like you're in a different world. There's a light floral/spice scent everywhere, which is really lovely. Not overpowering or distracting but it adds to the ambiance of the place.
We will be back!
Went last minute for a late lunch - ordered all there tapas to share - coconut shrimp was my Favorite but all good. Service was amazing (we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so can’t comment on how it would be if it was busy).. had the musbah mule and it was amazing! Will definitely be trying a dinner with friends for the belly dancing
