Great food and excellent service . Highly recommended !
So much fun. Sam was our server and he was exceptional. The owner sang happy birthday to my niece. The food was flavourful and beautifully presented. The belly dancing show was colourful and very beautiful to watch. Beautiful Moroccan decor. It would be so much fun for a special occasion. Definitely try the brochettes and crab cake starters. We will be back!
Service and drinks were very good but the food was average. The dancers added a nice touch and got the audience involved. However, it was an expensive evening and we will probably not be back.
The service and pacing was super slow - there seemed to be only two waiters serving a Friday night. We waited quite a bit for everything but when the waiters did come they were pleasant and professional, often thanking us for being patient which was nice. We arrived at 8:45pm, didn’t get our first course until almost 10pm, and we got the bill as soon as we were able, which was about 11:30pm.
Food and decor were great and the belly dancing was awesome. Great for groups or a special occasion but if you’re looking for something for weekend dining, maybe find somewhere else to go unless you have lots of time to sit there.
I have shared my experience with the team on Facebook. I am still waiting for them to respond
A great dining experience. The food is excellent - the servers are very attentive. Love the lamb shanks!! We brought our teenage kids and they enjoyed the show too.
Great food. Great service. Great hospitality. Great environment. Loved it. Would go again. The bill surprised me, in a good way.
Amazing experience! Celebrated my birthday here, highly recommend!
Great food and great atmosphere
I received my meal once my other friends had already finished eating which was a bit of a disappointment but it was a very busy night and I enjoyed myself!
Amazing service, beautiful venue. Food was decent. Belly dancers were great but I wouldn’t categorize it as a show.
We had a great evening at the Sultan’s Tent. The service was phenomenal and the food was good. Definitely a fun experience if you have never been before.
I booked this for a special occasion because of the atmosphere and show. That did not disappoint at all, but the food was over-cooked and very bland in taste and spicing (Moroccan? You’re kidding me!). Large serving sizes didn’t make up for over-price and lack of quality.
As for wines, the first one I selected from their limited and pedestrian wine list was out. Then I decided to spring for a bottle of the only other one I recognized, the best and most expensive bottle on the list (at more than 3 times the mark-up), but they didn’t have that one either. We were given a couple of so-so options as our only choice for our special occasion.
Would I recommend it? Definitely not!
Fantastic service. Great environment. Only tip...give the food more traditional flavour. Looking for a punch of spice.
positive: service was great and curtious and entertainment was nice.
food not great at all
appetizers was hummus which was nothing special and royal brochette where beef skewer was nice but a shrimp skewer with only 2 small shrimp
i ordered the sahara kebob wasnt good at all kofta was dry and burned the beef skewer was mediocar
my wife and mother in law ordered the lamb shank my wife enjoyed it my mother in law so so
the desserts om ali was not good at all very dry and cold. cheesecake tasted weird too much rose water may be.
the best desserts we found was baklava and creme burlee
to be honest usually 60$ per person is a good value for dinner and entertainment like this in a core downtown location but i didnt see that because the food needs lots of improvement
suggestion may be mark down on the menu your top signature dishes
Visited this past Saturday. Overall great experience, from the servers to the general manager! What a great girls night. Cheers to the wonderful staff for making our night that much more enjoyable.
My favourite restaurant ever. You go for the experience and then the food wows you as well.
Friendly, attentive staff. Ample portions. Belly dancers are very engaging and the food is delicious.
An excellent evening.
I love The Sultan's Tent. Alton was a fantastic bartender/host. The service and show were fantastic. We had a great time.
The waiter was so friendly, and the food and atmosphere was amazing! We shared both lamb dishes, and I'd recommend them both.
We were at the Sultan’s Tent for my wife’s birthday. The food was incredible (get the lamb shank) and the belly dance performer was world-class. The manager even stopped by to say hello which was a nice touch. Thanks Medhat!
Ambience and decor was very fitting to the theme, loved the show and enjoyed the fox tremendously!
Amassing experience, hospitality at it's best.Moment you walk in you are met with professional stuff and continues to the very end. This restaurant should train other restaurants how to treat customers.
Great for fun events, food is all amazing - very expensive, so better for bigger events or work dinners. The dancers pull you up to dance with them, so don’t go with anyone you wouldn’t want to see you dance!
Although I would recommend Sultans Tent because of past experiences I was disappointed on my last visit. Visited the day after valentines day - price was 79.95/person included a welcome drink. Food was sub par, Dessert had no creativity (pastry chef must of had the night off) and our flowers were wilted. Only 1 belly dancer was working for the entire restaurant - Service was very good as usual.
Nice restaurant ambience and service, but food was way below average! They need a better chef who tries the food before serving to guests! Food was very disappointing!
Valentines Day - The service was good and the staff were terrific but not intuitive. The featured Steak was tough and had a line of grizzle thru it so after asking for a sharper knife (which should have been a clue to our server) asked to send one back and kept the other which was just much tougher than usual for an up-scale restaurant; A) the server had to get the Manager's approval which seemed like an unnecessary step for such an obvious problem (let the Manager check it in the kitchen rather than attracting attention at the customer's table), B) most of the crab, shrimp and other sea food was still on the plate they took away but not on the replacement plate, C) the manager apologized for the problem as he took the plate away but no one ever asked if we were happy after that, D) our reservations were very early in the evening so it wasn't that they were too busy to provide service or check on customer satisfaction.
The food was great, but my order got "lost" and had to reorder. didn't too long tho. My waiter was awesome, got a couple free drinks out of it. they were super apologetic. My husband said its pretty authentic - food tasted like back in Oman. I would go back and recommend.
It was a good experience we have lotta fun and the manager was excellent thank you so much definitely I come again
The atmosphere was very warm and cozy on a cold winter evening. Appetizer s were good but I would have liked my crab cakes to be hot. Main course was tasty but again food could have been hotter. Creme brulee dessert was not what was expected. Thick and stoggy. The staff were friendly and warm. The floor show belly dancers were delightful. We were told there was a new chef. S/He needs to work on perfecting the craft somewhat.
Food and service were great! All of the staff are very friendly and attentive. The manager visited out table twice and said good bye before leaving for the night which I think is good touch. Belly dancing show was very enjoyable! My husband and our friends have really enjoyed our time there. I would have given it a 5 if they were able to bill our party separately but other than that everything went according to our expectations. Well done guys! I hope to come back really soon!
Good date for winterlicious
The staff here were the most attentive and friendly I've experienced in a very long time. The food was very good and the atmosphere was comfortable. We will go back to see the show as we had an early reservation to go to the theatre that night. The meal itself was very enjoyable though.
Fabulous night at the Sultan's Tent. Great food, ambiance and wonderful belly dancing show!
Due to the poor reviews online, I didn't have high expectations for this restaurant but thought my 8 year old would enjoy experiencing the belly dancing show. Everything was wonderful from the moment we walked in til the moment we left. We were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and attentive and our food came very quickly. The manager came to our table several times to interact with my daughter and to see how everything was going. The belly dancing show was great and my daughter was taught how to belly dance. She was given an honourary belly dancing certificate. After the show, I asked if one of the belly dancers could come back out so I could take a picture with her and my daughter with her certificate. The dancer was super friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and I was comfortably full. The portions are not huge so those with a large appetite may not find that there is enough. We had a wonderful evening and I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing atmosphere, great food and lovely staff. Will be back !
My friend and I really enjoyed the spicy squash soup and basa tangine on the winterlicious menu. The only weakness was dessert where the couscous dessert was not flavourful and had frozen fruit on top, and the lemon brule was overly sweet. We had fantastic service! When it was noticed that my friend did not enjoy the couscous dessert, she was brought the lemon brule instead as a free alternate. Prices were reasonable (to us) except the pot of mint tea which was $10. We would definitely return but would pass on tea & dessert.
The atmosphere and the staff were incredible! Very worth the visit because of the experience. My only criticism is that the food was not flavourful, but bland. When I went with my boyfriend, we ordered the lunch menu for winterlicious. I ordered the butternut squash soup which was INCREDIBLE with the nuts and pomegranate. My guest ordered the eggplant appetizer with the friend naan. It was good but would have been better if it were warm. For the main, I had the chicken wrap with salad which was not so tasty and didn't leave me wanting more. It was bland, but the toasted naan (im not sure what the wrap was but it was very good) was excellent. The salad was just a basic addition with rocket and tomatoes.. could've been more exciting. My guest ordered the lamb with veggies and tomato sauce dish and it was, as well, bland and would've been tastier with more spices/garlic. Finally, the dessert of the couscous was good but needed more fruit, and the chocolate tart tasted like chocolate pudding in a dry pastry. On the plus, the wait staff were incredible, lovely, and attentive and made the experience, same with the decor.
It was great atmosphere. Food could have been more authentic and interesting.
