We ordered the ribs and they were hard and they had too much fat. The chicken was good, beans were delicious and the best was the brisket and pull pork was the best.
great bbq in utah, staff was great and food was really good. you also get a lot of food for the money.
This is a local BBQ joint, not a 3* restaurant ... but the food is very good! I really enjoyed their pulled pork and brisket. (Coleslaw was a bit bland.) Anyway, if you are okay with eating in a 'sports bar-like' setting, give the potentially best BBQ in Salt Lake City a try.
Good service with a nice menu selection
The ribs were pretty good. The brisket wasn't that great. I expected better and there certainly are better BBQ places, even in Salt Lake.
Fantastic restaurant, but they said they never got my OpenTable reservation.
Maybe i had hi expectations because my husband always that we passed by the restaurant use to say that "the bbq there is very nice ". Well finally we find the perfect time to go with the family, as i said before, the food was not that i was expecting, nothing outstanding. some things in the meal were not good at all, and thats make me feel very disappointed. the place overall its very nice the ambiance very welcoming, and the service very helpful and nice.
Great BBQ flavor. Big portions.
I was torn about a review rating for the restaurant. We both agreed that the barbeque was very good for the intermountain west. We had ribs and enjoyed them with the variety of sauces. My partner had barbeque beans which he loved. However, the seats in the booths are hard and were uncomfortable after a while. The service was average to not so good. We were there when it wasn't busy, but we still had to remind our server to get our cornbread. If we chose to buy from them again, I think we'd probably get the food to go and eat at the hotel. Worth eating the food again, maybe not worth eating at the restaurant again.
Super tasty food, quick and friendly service. Definitely worth a try!
We got the red beans and rice and some fries, and both were very good - I had eaten all of my fries in just a few minutes they were so good! Even ordered some more beans and rice to go.
Great food! Small side portions, but good non-the-less. I recommend that you try this BBQ! BET ITS THE BEST IN SALT LAKE!!
Wow. If only the others would taste this good. Amazing
The trout was amazing waitress was a little slow, reasonable prices very casual atmosphere what highly recommend
The waitress was great, and recommended we try vanilla cream in our dark beer. Sounded a little different, so we tried it and it was like the adult version of a 'root beer float'. Only this one had alcohol in it! We will be back, and will definitely have the 'beer float' again.
Best BBQ in SLC. And the ambiance is amazing. Hand made bar and booths out of 100+ year old barn wood. This place was obviously built by master craftmen. Great for family, friends, or date night anytime, day or night.
Solid BBQ with a pretty varied menu R and R BBQ is still the best but this is a better dinning option with still a solid bbq
Went for the first time with friends that were regulars. Got what was pretty much a meat sampler to share with the hubster. Best part was the ribs! Delicious, fall off the bone, fantastic ribs! Try all of the homemade sauces and find your favorites (I really liked the bbq sauce and the Carolina style) to put on the rest of the meat - they will need it. The other cuts of meat were well cooked, moist and nice, but had no smokey flavor and needed a kick from those homemade sauces. Other people in my party really enjoyed the pecan pie for dessert. I was also a bit disappointed in the sweet tea; it was lacking in the sweet department. Maybe I was hoping for too much on the authentic southern bbq place front (I moved here from southeastern VA), but overall it was good and I will be going back for those ribs!
Arriving at 8:30, we were quickly seated. Our waiter recommended the chicken wings as an appetizer, we ordered them, a full slab of ribs and half a chicken. Within 3 or 4 minutes our dinners arrived, and then our waiter stated he was going back for the appetizer. I realized that he wanted to rush us out at night's end. The wings were very dry. When mentioned, the waiter left. He came back to say they were on the house, that all the wings were dry like that. Even "on the house", we did not eat them. You could tell the meats had been sitting around for a while, as neither of them were moist and were a bit dry (but not like the wings!). Maybe if one was to eat early in the day, the food would be fresh and not taste like leftovers!
Having lived in Louisiana for 3 years we wanted to try your bbq and jambalaya. It was AWESOME. So flavorful. Someone else in our party had the French fries. I couldn't stop eating off his plate. Best French fries ever.
Food was outstanding, ribs fell off the bone, and it was inexpensive.
This was my first time at Sugarhouse BBQ. The restaurant was packed, but we had reservations so didn't have to wait to be seated. It took about 15 minutes just to get a drink but the food arrived very quickly. Our waiter never did show up after he delivered our food, but luckily we didn't need anything more. The food was great. Everyone was very friendly. I will definitely come back.
This is really good barbecue. Ambiance isn't awesome, but the food makes up for it. Really good prices.
This place gets good reviews so we decided to try it. However, I was not terribly impressed. I think if you like Buffalo BBQ you would probably like it. The buffalo chicken was too vinegary for me. The pulled pork was good. The provided sauces were mostly way too spicy for me. The Boston cucumber salad was good.
I go here at least once a week. I love the food. The people are very friendly.
My only wish is that sausage was featured more on the menu.
