Open table asked the question if it was a special occasion? I said yes, birthday. No one at the restaurant acknowledged the fact it was a birthday. If Open Table and The Studio are not going to communicate, open table should not ask the question.

We love the Studio! It is a spot we visit every time we visit the island. In addition, it is a tradition for my wife and I to dine there for Valentines Day for the past 5 years. This year I decided to get something different. In the past I always got the Filet, the same with my wife. This year we both got the Studio Salad which was awesome!!! We both enjoyed it very much. For dinner my wife had the Grouper and I had the Hippie Loaf. Our food was good but we left feeling our meal was very expensive. So I looked on-line at their menu and found that the Grouper was $32 and the Hippie Loaf was $26. We were charged $38 for both meals. I get that Valentines Day is Special and is busy for the restaurants. I recognize there is a cost for the Rose my wife received when she left but we paid $18 more by dining there on Valentine’s Day versus any other day. After adding 6% tax and 20% tip we paid $23 more. Maybe that is the way it has always been and we never noticed because the Filet price is very close to the $38 they were charging. Last year we were even offered a nice coupon to use if we came back within the month, and we took advantage of it. Nothing was offered this year. The food was pretty good, the service is always good and the ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening. I was just disappointed in the way the meals were priced out.

It is the first time we have eaten there and will definitely go back. The food was excellent as well as the service. Enjoyed the smaller atmosphere and music.

We took friend who had never been there, confident that it would be good, and it was. Our server was very knowledge about the menu and helpful with choosing wine. Only criticism was there wasn’t enough light to read the menu.

We happened to arrive on Restaurant week. it is obvious that many locals value and admire this restaurant. the chef is creative and the food is fresh and balanced while adding artistry and uniqueness to each dish. It is not overly expensive but it is worthy of drinks with three courses for $100.

This is a great new place we just discovered. Though the menu is not extensive, there is enough variety to cater to wide range of entree preferences. What makes this restaurant stand out is the very creative and innovative preparations and presentation of dishes. Also, serving sizes are appropriate - not huge amounts that go to waste - plus pricing seemed very reasonable to us. All staff are super friendly and helpful, making the overall dining experience pleasurable.

The layout includes two small dining rooms and an outdoor patio, so guests are advised to reserve a table. In addition, the decor is very eclectic featuring original artwork throughout, jewelry for sale at the bar, an artist with easel painting near the front entry, and live music. We found the "bohemian" atmosphere different and fun, though depending on your guests, some may find some of the nude paintings, cozy tables, dim lighting, and random art pieces distracting. We like the idea live music, but wish the entertainer we heard did not sing (was not in tune). However, we will definitely be back to hear the acoustic guitarist and will make The Studio a favorite HHI spot. Enjoy!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our friend is Vegan and there was lots of choice for her.
The service was courteous, knowledgeable & informative. Just the right amount of attention was given. The food was flavourful and beautiful in presentation. The accompanying singer was talented and did not interfere with conversation.
Overall a most enjoyable evening.

The Studio serves delicious food, and has a variety of options for everyone. The staff is very friendly, and there was not a long wait for our food. The vegan German chocolate torte was the best dessert I've ever had. Also, the live music was wonderful. Definitely would recommend The Studio!

Escargot was incredible! It was unique in taste and presentation. Salad was incredible! Even my husband who usually eats salads because he knows he should raved about the salad. Food was yummy! I thought my filet of beef and lamb chops could have been a bit more tender but everything else was superb. Interesting and unique atmosphere. Live entertainment was incredible! Guitar player was very gifted! We will definitely be back.

Although the guitarist was playing soft music it was still a distraction for a diner wearing hearing aides in the small space. We asked to be seated in an adjacent room. Extra work for the servers as we were the only ones in the 2nd room but they graciously agreed and moved us without delay. Excellent, attentive, service. Well prepared and well presented food. Many dining options in the area but we would not hesitate to return. A fine experience.

Dining on Tuesdays when musical entertainment is offered is a huge draw for us. We have always raved about our meals until recently. Neither of our entrees were seasoned much and the cobia in the seafood paella was quite dry. We will return to The Studio but order other entrees.

Always try to visit The Studio whenever on Hilton Head. Eclectic menu selections are the order of the day. Was a rather busy night on a Friday. We were initially seated at a table next to the live entertainment for the night. A talented one-man-band who was a little loud for relaxed conversation to occur. We asked for a different table and were accommodated immediately and pleasantly. Janice chose the salmon entree with a topping of butternut squash and chopped pecans. It was a very interesting preparation but the very sweet syrupy glazing overpowered the fish which usually can hold its own with savory treatments. Was good but could have been a bit more balanced. I chose the paella of the day made with clams, shrimp, and fish over couscous. A really nice preparation I thoroughly enjoyed. That said we were not disappointed and will return.

It has been a few years since we have eaten here and what a wonderful surprise that it has not changed.. The ambiance is still there along with great food, service, excellent and quiet entertainment and the ever present artist working on a painting. This little restaurant is a hidden gem in the Lowcountry...It is refreshiningly quiet and relaxing. The guitar player played our favorite songs. It was a delightful evening.. We will return. 💕

We had a wonderful dinner at The Studio the Friday night after Thanksgiving. Our absolute favorite dish was the fantastic buffalo cauliflower appetizer, but we also thoroughly enjoyed the creative, delicious vegetarian entrees. We loved the art studio setting and the terrific live music. The performer played our special requests at the perfect volume for us to enjoy our family dinner. And, the staff was warm and welcoming. This was our first of what we are sure will be many future visits!

Very good ambiance, unusual art emphasis of one owner, the other is the chef! and the food was well detailed. good value for upper end cuisine without whimsical but comfortable setting. Enjoyed all aspects of our dinner. Reasonable and/or top end wines. Absolutely will return each time on Hilton Head.

The Studio is an excellent choice for a special night out. When we dined there on a Friday, we enjoyed live music. My wife and I both had their special which included lamb chops, filet and halibut. Everything was delicious. When we are in Hilton Head we routinely dine there and we haven’t been disappointed yet.
