The StoneRose Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The food was average. The burger was a bit over done and I didn't find it had the flavor some of the other reviewers suggested. The fish tacos were good. We also had the chocolate chip ice cream sandwich for desert. The ice cream was great, the cookies were horrible.
When there are people wearing t-shirts and shorts sitting around you the bill shouldn't be what it was. Food was EXCELLENT. The server said about 10 words total to us throughout the experience. I'm not saying they should sit down and talk about life in general, but some measure of hospitality would be normal. Like I said, food quality was above average, but the overall experience didn't fit the price tag. Too many other places to try to go back to this one.
I had a business lunch with a coworker and one of our clients. The food was very good and the service was fine. Very friendly servers. Unfortunately we sat in the back and it was very loud. I don't know if they can do anything about that but it but it be worth looking into
We arrived just before the fireworks on the 3rd and this place was mobbed. It took us a good while to speak with a server but the restaurant comped us two free desserts for the trouble. All in all this is a great restaurant and my service score reflects a day where the restaurant staff was overwhelmed.
Found this spot at the last minute after attending another event in the area. Sat outside on a lovely night and although the street was not quiet, I never felt it was too loud or obnoxious.
Server was attentive and the bar staff was very accomodating to modify the cocktail to my liking. I had the cocktail with homemade ginger vodka, lemon and honey. I do not like particularly sweet drinks and asked to tone down the honey. No problem doing so. It was still a tad sweet, so I asked for a little less honey on the second drink and boom! It was spot on for me. Others would probably prefer a bit more honey. My husband had the old-fashioned and this is a drink I normally loathe, but I tasted his and could have drunk one myself.
Started off with appetizers of watermelon gazpacho and caprese salad. I like my gazpacho chunky and spicy. This was neither, but still refreshing. I found the watermelon flavor a bit mellow. It was good, but not my type of gazpacho. Cheese in the caprese salad was melt in your mouth. Tomatoes were a mix of red, orange and green so a nice play on color and texture. Found it odd that the bread served at the table was wrapped in paper in a bread basket.
Had the wasabi tuna with daikon and samban mash. Tuna was fresh, moist and seared on the outside nicely. Mash was a little buttery for me, but that is just me. Hubby loved it. Could have used a tad more wasabi and ginger flavor. Portion was generous.
Hubby had the sweet potato pasta. It was very good, but neither one of us could tell that there was sweet potato anywhere. Took a little leftovers home and enjoyed again the next day.
Service was perfect. Highly recommend and would go again.
Food was great. Meeting friends whom I hadn't seen for awhile - traffic was bad and they were half hour late. We spent time there 1-4 pm and were only ones there for quite a lengthy time. No one tried to get us to leave and were very good in making sure we had everything we wanted. Would highly recommend for food and servic.
Celebrated Father's Day with brunch at The StoneRose. I had been for drinks and dinner, but never brunch. Everything was delicious, especially the salads we started with (StoneRose salad and Caesar) and the breakfast burrito. Service was attentive. Everyone, especially my Dad, thoroughly enjoyed their meal.
Went with friends to Stone Rose for the first time based on reviews. It did not disappoint. We were seated in bar area- although I did request the dining room. The noise level was fine. The food was quite good. We are "foodies" and have dined all over and we were all quite pleased with the food overall. We had short rib pizza, calamari, mussels (FABULOUS!) and the crab salad as appetizers. All were delicious. We also had grouper, scallops and the duck burger and all were pleased. Portions were quite large and food was well prepared. The one negative was our waiter, while quite nice, seemed uninformed and did not read us the specials until I asked if their were any. Overall we had a very enjoyable time with friends and also had an excellent meal!
Second time here - 1st time was for lunch. Both times were yummy. There were four of us for dinner and all of us raved about our selections. We can without any reservation recommend the tuna, scallops, pork chops and the spare ribs with macaroni and cheese. Unbelievably delicious!!
Absolutely LOVE this place! I loved it when I used to work in the area about 8 years ago and I still love it today. I brought a friend with me this time around and I was so happy to share the experience and the food with her.
Fries were fantastic, the flatbread was delicious and the crab salad was refreshing.
We have been to The StoneRose many times before, for lunch and dinner. On this visit, we were returning home from NYC via Amtrak and our travels on the Septa regional rails but us back in Conshohocken. We always enjoy the many and varied menu options and today, looking for a somewhat lite meal we chose the lump crab salad and D-mac and Cheese appetizer that both hit the mark. I enjoyed a glass of Dante from their accommodating list of wines by the glass. Choose to seat outside or in the coolness of an inside table; we opted for a quiet, private table in the back dining room. You can't go wrong with TSR!
The Stone Rose was recommended as a casual dining with very good food. Since the 5 of us were In from out of town, it sounded good. All the choices were tasty as well as fresh. We ordered the grilled vegetable board and the spicy calamari as appetizers. Four out of the five of us ordered "today's special" , nut crusted red snapper . The fish was fresh and prepared well. We did not have room for dessert.
This is a very nice restaurant. I would recommend it for everyday dining as well as a date spot.
Sit in the back room away from the bar and TV if you wish a quieter place to chat. You will not be disappointed.
My girlfriend and I were in the neighborhood while she was completing a day-long exam at a nearby hospital. Afterward, we wanted to celebrate her accomplishment with a special meal at the StoneRose. Our server was very personable and -- having noticed that we were particularly happy -- asked if we were celebrating any occasion in particular. After we mentioned that she had just spent all day taking a test, our server congratulated her and gave us some suggestions for what to eat and drink. The coctails she made us were exceptional, as was the food prepared by the kitchen (calamari, mussels, and duck fat fries). The whole staff, in addition to the cozy corner in which we were seated, were very welcoming and made our big day extra amazing.
