The Stone House Ratings and Reviews
We are always on the look out for nice local restaurants to celebrate family birthdays. The Stone House came highly recommended and I whole heartily agree. The service was informative and friendly. The ambience was just right with the family easily able to converse. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Had a delightful lunch experience at the Stone House. The food and presentation were outstanding. The prawn salad and the weathervane scallops with Zucchini pasta were the highlights of our meal. Our server was very attentive and accommodating.Unfortunately, there is a lot of construction going on near and around the location of the restaurant. We would have loved to eat outside but our ambiance would have been jackhammers, trucks and construction workers shouting.
We will visit again but this time maybe for dinner when the construction has quieted for the evening.
Everything was great with one exception. Moules appetizer was excellent, Halibut in curry sauce amazing and Bananas Foster bread pudding delectable. Unfortunately my scallop dish was very un-remarkable, despite being perfectly cooked there was little to no flavor in the scallop furthermore they we setting in a sauce that tasted exactly like campbells tomato soup. Overall I will rate them very good and continue to dine there, I will be more cautious with my dish selection in the future and avoid their scallops.
Neat old quaint house for out of town visitors in Redmond. We ordered 2 appetizers to be shared, Pork Belly was excellent and Mussels. I ordered Beef cheeks with interesting seasoning but a bit too salty for me. Also ordered 2 desserts ie peach tart and a piece rhubarb pie (yummy and wonderful). Overall, good food (less salt, please) and great service. Ambience was nice except for the hot night.
We were warmly greeted and offered to sit where we wanted. They recognized us as the folks who ordered a special meal, as we are vegetarians (I had called them when we made our reservation). They presented us with a fabulous vegetarian meal that had varied flavors and textures: gnocchi and fresh pea pods in an onion wine sauce, zucchini 'pasta' with a variety of vegetables on a red pepper coulis, and a mushroom linguini that had a variety of mushrooms in a cream sauce topped with fresh flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal, although the room was a bit too noisy, due to a couple of large groups dining there. We'd go there again at any time!
First time eating here, though I'd seen it many times. Menu didn't have a lot of choices, especially for a vegetarian, but all the food was excellent except for the peach tart (almost no peach). Service was middling; adequate but not what you'd expect for a restaurant like this. It really is a stone house, and you're eating in what feels like the former living room. Prices were high for what you get. If you like restaurants cozy and energetic, it's great. Ambiance is messed up by major construction project next door.
The inside lives up to the romantic promise of the outside and the personnel were sweet and thoughtful. The food was about 4.4 -- not quite outstanding, but it might be another evening. I especially enjoyed the Barbela, a wonderful wine with which I was unfamiliar. I will gladly return.
All of the food from the salads to the desserts were outstanding. The service was also outstanding. The level of the noise in the restaurant made having a conversation very difficult. If you are looking for a night of great food and conversation book at table after 9 pm when the restaurant traffic starts to ebb.
Staff nice. Room very noisy. Little house in middle of growing town. Surrounded by apartments and condos. Looks like nice outdoor patio but too cool to test. Food was ok. Not as good as anticipated. Wine selection was good. Went for our anniversary and we're not as wowed as anticipated . Would not go out of our way to return but that's because there are so many other restUrants we would like to try.
The pork chop was perfectly cooked & came with a savory apricot sauce. The asparagus appetizer was the right balance of tenderness & was topped with a baguette slice, olive oil, and over-easy egg that created a rich mix of flavors. The breading on the chili rellenos was a bit thick, but soaked up some of the fresh green salsa to win me over. The potato gnocchi was tender, accompanied by fresh artichoke & generously drizzled with basil-rich pesto sauce. All the dishes had a fresh taste and a delightful combination of flavors. The banana split was a winner, especially the banana which is dusted in cinnamon & sugar and cooked to caramelize the exterior and soften the fruit. We’ll be back for our next special occasion.
The Scallops were good and plating was beautiful. The sauces were too light for my taste this time and I'm pretty sure I would not get that again. The other 3 times I have been there it was excellent. Service was a bit disappointing as the gentleman looked frazzled and overwhelmed.
We recently visited the beautiful city of Redmond for the Easter weekend. This is was my third visit to this city and my husbands second. Every time we visit- we try new restaurants and see new sights. Adding the Stone House to our favourite places to eat in Redmond was unanimous- its a total food experience. My husband thinks its actually the best Halibut meal he has every had and the experience was great.
Actually I select this restaurant because of its good reviews, and I am really happy of that .
As soon as I arrived I got surprised of its small area,it is like your dinning room but so cozy and well organized.
The service was good but I have to confess the food was one of the best I have ever had.
I selected scallop and shrimp and my husband chose the tenderloin steak and I think it was one of the best steaks we had experienced before….
in conclusion , I will recommend stone house to my friends ,and definitely will come back again..
If you are the type of diner that likes to go to a restaurant where it's so noisy you can barely hear the person sitting across from you, you may like this restaurant.
Food was interesting and tasted good but not enough for me to want to forego a reasonable conversation with my dining companion. I would probably opt for a place which is more thoughtfully laid out relative to the acoustics of the facility.
We received a gift certificate to The Stone House and used it for my husband's birthday! We had a wonderful, knowledgeable waitress and a spectacular meal! We had spicy mussels appetizers. Excellent. He had lamb with gnocchi & nettle pesto, cooked perfectly, presented beautifully, I had duck with fiddlehead ferns. Fabulous, spiced perfectly, and although gourmet, both were very healthy, locally sourced meals. Portions were nice, not too small, and the attention to high quality, healthy, local foods was highly appreciated. For dessert we splurged and I had the chocolate soufflé while he had the bread pudding. Both were perfect! Thanks for making a celebration a wonderful event. This was a perfect present for someone who is hard to buy for!
Had another beautiful dinner at stone house...started with marrow bone appetizer then the buck breast for dinner. The duck skin was perfection! Salty and crispy and the duck was perfectly cooked and oh so flavorful! For dessert....donuts with chocolate dipping sauce! Service was great, friendly and prompt. Atmosphere cozy.
We started the meal with a duck ragu gnocchi that wasn't on the menu. I still dream about this today. Next, we ordered the flat iron steak and short ribs which were both superb. My husband said it is one of the best steak he has had. Since everything was amazing so far, we couldn't resist ordering dessert. We were glad we did. The chocolate souffle cake was fluffy had just the perfect amount of sweetness. It left us craving for more. To our surprise, that wasn't the end of it. Mini brownies were served together with the bill. I am usually not a fan of brownies but I stuffed myself with it because it was moist and delicious with just the amount of salt. We loved the food so much that we almost came back here the next day.
