Good vibe. Nice room. Great booths. Nice bar. I did like the pizza but not much else. Hamachi crudo and brocolini were forgettable. Good for happy hour.

I'm not sure what happened to this place. It used to one of my favorite DTLA restaurants. The menu used to change a lot and the food was top notch. Now there are a couple mediocre pizzas on the menu and some appetizers. The service was just okay. They didn't come around that often so we needed to really flag the server down when we needed anything. Just not what the place used to be.

Made a reservation on a Tuesday because I'm a weirdo. Place was super easy to find for our Lyft driver, but they did have valet available right in front. Host guy was super cool, chatted us up and gave us our choice of seating. He even was a super good sport with my wife's "can you recommend a drink to me even though you don't know me or my tastes" routine.

Craft drink menu is legit, wife had the Nacional and the Tiger Print and liked both. I went basic Jack and coke but they had an awesome pour so no complaints. Also, drinks were reasonably priced for being craft coctails in DTLA so kudos.

Food-wise, we started out with the brussel sprouts & broccoli which were amazing. Wife had the burger which she loved. I had the house fennel sausage pizza rosso in the cast iron and it was awesome, perfect amount of cheese and sauce with the crispy bits on the edges and fresh sausage and onions. Maria took great care of us all night, and even chatted with us for awhile about random things our parents use to make us eat when we were younger.

Overall, easy 5 stars. Great food, great service and the location was easy. We'll be back.

portions were very small. I ordered a manhattan ...when the bill came I noticed that I was charged 20 dollars for the drink...when I brought it to the server's attention she said they used premium whiskey...which I didn't request...she lowered the price to 14 dollars...still too high!

When The Stocking Frame first opened, it was absolutely wonderful. The chef created lovely, delicious and imaginative dishes that were just great. I hadn't been back in a while and, when I went last week, I was disappointed to find that it now caters to a sports bar type of clientele and serves mostly burgers, pizzas and basic salads. Our waitress assured us that it was the same chef as always but I found that hard to believe. It went from being a destination restaurant to an "if-stuck-and-there's-nothing-else" restaurant. Very disappointing! And the pastrami tacos were so salty, I couldn't eat them.

Disappointing experience. Service was SO SLOW, especially considering the restaurant was completely empty other than my party a three and another table of four people. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks from the bar and my daughter's lemonade was another 10 minutes past that. Our salad (that we hoped would precede the meal) came out with my husband and daughter's entrees after a long wait and my burger was another at least 10 minute delay - so frustrating (!) as they were done with their meals by the time mine came out and I had to eat by myself! Based on the emptiness of the restaurant, there was absolutely no excuse for this poor and inconsistent service. I have to say my daughter's pizza and my burger were good but my husband's chicken sandwich was gristly and full of rubbery skin which was a surprise as usually it is assumed that a chicken sandwich will be a boneless breast. Overall thumbs down and a downer of an experience. We do not recommend this nor will we ever be back. Sad because ambiance is nice and it is a good DTLA location.

I had made reservations a month in advance to have dinner before going to a concert at the Orpheum. When we arrived all of the good tables by the window were taken. The host walked all around the restaurant searching for a table for us. The menu was not as it was shown on The Open Table site, which was quite disappointing. My friend and I both ordered individual salads and a pizza to split. The waiter arrived with my friend's salad and the pizza. My salad never arrived. The wait staff gave us a free glass of wine - but I still never got my salad. Just disappointing all around.

We were here for a special occasion. We had some difficulty figuring out what table we wanted but the server was very patient and helped us get a perfect table. We did, however, feel like the server forgot about us at times. The food was amazing, though. We literally ordered half the menu and everything was amazing. The lamb was favored by all and the hamachi crudo was really good too. The crab fried rice was amazing. We will definitely be back.

I returned to this restaurant specifically for one dish, the Pastrami Tacos, because if literally been dreaming about the White Cheddar Slaw since the first time I had them. This time, I went on the late side, around 1030pm, and although the restaurant was open until midnight, the kitchen closed soon after my arrival. Only the late night menu was available at that time, which only had a handful of items, but luckily the tacos were on there. The service was efficient and friendly and my food came out faster than I expected. The tacos were just delicious as I expected and I would return to give some towner dishes a try.

Came here before seeing Adele at the Staples Center. Within walking distance to the venue, which is very convenient. Food was delicious but the cocktails were inconsistent. I ordered the same drink 3 times and tasted very different each time. Good the first time, mediocre the second time and almost undrinkable the third time. Not sure if different bartenders made them. Food was yummy, we had the avocado tacos, brussel sprout hash, octopus, nachos and the chocolate hazelnut dessert. Great vibe, great food and location. Would recommend.

We made a reservation and only about 10 of the items listed on the menu were available in the restaurant with no additions. Extremely limited menu. Despite having made a reservation we were told this was a self service establishment and that you must seat yourself, go to the bar to order and get the food for yourself. Zero service, 100% lack of customer respect and could not have been any more different from how it was represented on opentable.
Really poor experience.

We came here before going to the Music Center. I only wish it were open for lunch! Stocking Frame is in an old building space--I love the warmth of it. They have fabulous cocktails. The menu is small but we really enjoyed what we had. I would highly recommend the pastrami tacos, arugula salad, kale salad, and cocktails. I will be back.

I came here for a friend's birthday with a large party. The restaurant was kind enough to allow us to order from the full menu as opposed to a set menu (which is for parties of 12+) so that was great. The food was delicious and very well prepared. Overall the birthday celebrant and I enjoyed it.

GREAT food. Himachi, Pastrami tacos, MAple pork belly, Brussel sprout hash. All served tapas-style, all really, really good. MAc n cheese not bad, just not my thing. Haven't been there on a weekend night, only around dinner time and the place is not crowded at all. At night, who knows? Prices are about what you would expect for high quality food, although not as bad as it could be. HIGHLY recommended..

Great variety with the menu items. Portions are better than decent to quite generous (DANG on the short rib, which was a RIB). Food was not overly salty. And what a concept NOT to offer fries. Have gone here at least twice and nothing disappointed on each visit. Hope The Stocking Frame sticks around DTLA for quite some time!
