We opted to do the pairing and I highly recommend. The courses were well thought out, and presented beautifully. My only complaint is that everything felt rushed. I would have preferred more time between courses to enjoy finishing our wines and to just enjoy the evening with my husband. Otherwise everything was excellent.
Completely ignored “special request” as well as “special occasion”. Do not eat here for an anniversary or any other important date if you wish for it to be taken seriously. Was an establishment of superior service, but has sadly changed.
Loved the experience. This restaurant does not Hs e ocean view. But the gourmet expectation was met.
Well, COVID-19 affects everything. Dinner is a fixed price and menu except two entree choices. We selected both the duck and sea bass, with wine pairing. Excellent decisions. On the down side, a bit rushed through the courses (probably b/c of all the sanitizing for the second seating), and the Swedish cream dessert wasn’t one of our favorites. But I would recommend for a very special occasion.
Not that impressed with the food. The soup was the best course.
The menu was creative, well thought out and perfectly executed. The wine pairings were outstanding!! We really enjoyed the personal touch of a set seating and the chef's introduction of the meal. We will do it again for sure.
Excellent place for a safe and special dining occasion. We wanted to celebrate and were concerned about dining out during COVID. The tables were well spaced and the waiters were masked so we felt safe. The food was delicious and the fixed menu and wine pairing was a special dining experience.
Great food, great service, I wish we could do it all over again.
We ate here because we were staying at the Stephanie Inn for several nights. If I lived in Cannon Beach, I would come here frequently. The atmosphere is very quiet and very romantic. The wait staff is excellent and the Chef is putting together the best flavors from the Pacific Northwest. One of the best meals I have had in years!
great menu, good wine list, service could be better.
Fantastic food and great service! We will definitely be back
Ashley was an excellent server she sold us in the Chef’s 5-Course meal and the Wine flight both were excellent!!!
We had a wonderful dinner. Food was excellent (although my dessert of chocolate pot de creme was too thick for my taste), we did the pre fixe and the crab cakes were the best we ever tasted. The appetizers and entrees were also outstanding.
Our server was wonderful except asked us if everything was ok too many times. I believe servers should only ask when it looks like something is not ok.
Would definitely go again.
Wonderful food and terrific service. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys having a terrific meal served with great attention to detail.
A great anniversary dinner! Sarah our server did an awesome job! Had the $79 5 course special, halibut starter was perfectly cooked, beet salad was delicious and the chocolate cheviux was perfect!!!
The service was very good and the food was exceptional. I will dine there again. The only negative, and it’s not a deal breaker, is the restaurant setting. While located in the Stephanie Inn, which has a beautiful beach location, the restaurant has a parking lot view and the ambiance reminds me of a retirement home in Phoenix. Go after dark and try the risotto.
Although there is no ocean view the ambience is so very nice you won't miss it. Great food with perfect serving proportion. Tasteful, not heavy. Attentative without hovering.
I would never recommend the Stephanie Inn to a friend as I would most likely lose that friend. It all started with us showing up at 5:25 pm for a 5:30 reservation. We asked the attendant at the front desk where the dining room was. She (in a very condescending voice) said "Well you do need a reservation". We informed her that we did indeed have a reservation and she preceded to tell us "well you can go upstairs, there is a stand with the menu on it and a couple of chairs to sit on" We go upstairs and sure enough there are two chairs and the menu on a stand, (just like she said). The door to the dining room is locked, there is nobody around at all (mind you it is now 5:30 and time for our reservation). We see two other couples wandering by, both trying to open the dining room door and we simply said "not sure what is going on??" We waited another 10 minutes (with absolutely no communication from anybody at the Stephanie Inn) and finally decided to just leave as it was now almost 5:45. I could understand if we had to have waited for a table to clear (reservation later in the evening), but since we were the earliest you could reserve, it was absurd that we had to wait. We then proceeded downstairs and let the front desk attendant know that we would be cancelling our reservation, to please let the dining room know. She said she would, and then I get an email from Open Table questioning why I did not keep my reservation and that I should have informed the Stephanie Inn so they could have given my spot to someone else. I have eaten at several establishments, and never have I been treated so rudely and with no consideration for my time and then been accused of not cancelling. So if the Stephanie Inn is willing to post poor reviews, I simply suggest to very wary of your time, and be prepared for zero help from the front desk, other than to question you not having a reservation and then putting you off as if do not belong.
The Inn is in a secluded spot along the coast and the dining room provides nice viewing. This is a sedate restaurant with limited menu options but both our meals were excellent (though meal prices are a bit higher than in other good area restaurants without any apparent reason for being so). Service was excellent & attentive but not intrusive. Since it was our anniversary, the chef added a chocolate congratulatory message to our dessert, which was a nice touch. If the cost of the meal is not a deterrent, this is a very good option when in the Cannon Beach area.
It’s likely the best restaurant within 25 miles of Cannon Beach. It is expensive so know that going in but the food was very good (salmon) and the service was very good. You’re paying more than you should but it is at a hotel so you’re captive a bit. I would go back.
Excellent-we try to vacation in Cannon Beach for a few days every September and always book dinner at Stephanie’s and have never been disappointed. Our server, Laura, was especially knowledgeable and accommodating and made our fining experience very enjoyable. The food is always outstanding. Well worth the cost
Food was good, atmosphere was relaxing. We had a nice view of the coastal range. Service was exceptional. very warm and personable. Champagne was also very good. Will definitely return.
Went for my Vow Renewal Weekend with my Beautiful wife - had never been there before together and Cannon Beach location wad Amazing. Food was amazing and presentation was OUTSTANDING - we both had fish (Sturgeon and Ling Cod) for a main dish and portions were small but perfect! We ate at 5:30pm and it was less busy as there are only about 20 tables in the restaurant so it is recommended to eat early if you can.
All tables had their own server & Chef even came out to greet us and tell us about the meal and wine pairing but that is where the food service stopped. The ambience was stuffy, a little too pretentious for our taste, the hostess rolled her eyes at us when we arrived and our server wasn’t overly friendly...
We would go back for the food but to pay well over $300 with a bottle of wine for dinner we would expect a top notch experience all the way around.
I would recommend the Stephanie Inn Dining Room for anyone who values fine food in a relaxed but elegant setting and does not mind paying the price. My husband got the rack of lamb and I had a starter of corn velvet soup followed by crab cakes. The lamb was exquisitely tender and juicy. The soup I had was indeed velvety with a tasty bit of Dungeness crab on top. The crab cakes were small but filling, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside for a lovely taste sensation. We had a delightful signature cocktail called a Straw Hat before eating, followed by glasses of Oregon rose´. We loved the music (soft Renaissance), the ambiance, the food and the service. Someday I hope to be able to afford to stay as well as eat here!
Wonderful food (petrale sole stuffed with dungeness crab was amazing!), great service, very elegant room. But why, oh why, isn't this dining room on the ocean side of the hotel so that you can get a view of the water? Disappointing that at the best oceanfront lodge in Cannon Beach, they didn't put the fancy restaurant where you could get a view?
Although the restaurant represents itself as vegetarian-friendly, there’s no entree on the menu for vegetarians who eat dairy products and love pasta. In spite of advance notice, the chef’s effort at creating something fell far short — tasteless quinoa wrapped in leathery steamed kale.
Our server was wonderful, the ambiance was nice, and a separate serving of risotto was worthy.
Not vegetarian-friendly.
Misleading. Thought the restaurant overlooked the beach. Very disappointing. Expensive as well. Food good but initially no return call to set up champagne and a good table for our anniversary. Do not recommend
Unexpected gem in Cannon Beach. Service was impeccable. Food: exquisite. Quiet and elegant, and a lovely way to escape the crowds. Would highly recommend.
Lovely setting, very tranquil. The service was spot on and the food was delicious.
Excellent service and very good food add up to a delightful dining experience at a delightful establishment.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Stephanie Inn Dining Room. The food was beautifully prepared, the service was warm and friendly and the wine pairing were spot on. I would heartily recommend this restaurant as a go to while in Cannon Beach.
The menu is limited but that way they can make what they offer really well.
Thought ambiance music could have been more jazzy less formal
Always a very special experience. We reserve our visits to Stephanie Inn for very special occasions because it is pricey, but also super special in every way.
Great experience! Food selection & presentation was lovely, wine options were excellent! We participated in the four course prix fixe offering which was outstanding. All-around great experience. Thank you!!
Excellent atmosphere, service, nice and quiet place for dining. The food was amazing! Scallops appetizer and sole stuffed with crab meat was some of the best. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at the Stephanie Inn. Our food (Rack of Lamb for him, Salmon for me) was delicious. We opted for the prix-fix 5 course dinner, which gave us nice choices to individualize our meals. Very beautiful setting - service was exemplary.
The Stephanie Inn restaurant was excellent! The dinner was divine, the ambiance was great for our anniversary, the waiter was knowledgeable and loves his job. He truly added to the experience!! The breakfasts are also wonderful. They took comfort foods and added their own flair. Will definitely be back!
We have celebrated special occasions here many times and it never fails to amaze. Great food and awesome service. A 'must-go' at the coast.
Very elegant and we felt well cared for
