The Steakhouse at Harrah's - Harrah's Reno Ratings and Reviews
After much consideration, I chose the Harrah’s Steak House for a special night out with my family before attending the ballet. To say that I was let down and disappointed would be fair, maybe even a bit understated. While we were seated promptly, it took some 10-12 minutes to receive service...even for a glass of water!( As a note, we were a party of 5, seated in the middle of the restaurant.) Once we finally received a beverage, another 35-40 minutes passed until our order was taken. Another 30ish minutes to be served and about 10 minutes to get our check. The food was just ok. It’s not just about time, it’s about the service. In this case, the service was less than stellar. #disappointed.
This is our favorite dinner restaurant. We travel 60 miles a couple of times a year as a special treat. Pricey but worth it. Service is excellent; the waiters help each other so there is no waiting and we feel important to them. We recommend Harrah's Steak House as a great dining experience.
FROM THE MOMENT WE WERE GREATED BY MICHAEL UNTIL WE SAID GOODBYE TO SAME IT WAS A THRILL. OUR FAVORITE CAPTAIN OSSIE ALWAYS MAKES US FEEL SUPER SPECIAL AND ANTICIPATES OUR EVERY NEED. I NEED NOT TALK ABOUT THE MEAL....NO NEED TO TALK ABOUT PERFECTION....AS USUAL! WE CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN TO HARRAHS RENO STEAKHOUSE FOR THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME IN THE BIGGEST LITTLE CITY IN THE WORLD!!!
I had one of the nicest meals/evenings I have had in a very long time during my visit to Harrah's Steakhouse. The food was sublime - starting with the complimentary appetizer, the complimentary ice sorbet champagne to cleanse the palate after salad, and the iced chocolates dish floating on a misty cloud and finally the hot cloth for cleaning my hands and gooey chocolate mouth. The meal was prepared to my expectation - pork chop medium well so barely pink center, just the way I like it. The raspberry sauce that accompanied the pork chop was a wee-bit salty, but very flavorful. The service team was like a fine tuned clock...didn't miss a beat, even when my pork chop temp caused a bit of a delay. Well done Harrah's!
I had no idea what to expect because I'm new to the area. I had a great time. The wait staff was exceptional. I was celebrating a birthday and the dessert arrived with a very creative and beautiful design of party balloons and birthday wishes. Our dinner was delightful and exceptionally prepared. I'm definitely going back again.
We have been here several times and are never disappointed. If you are local, you have to get a Players Card--the Steakhouse honors a 25% discount with the card!! The service is exceptional here, very attentive without being pompous. The food was delicious and exactly as we ordered it. The desert choices made it hard to pick just one. Our only miss with the appetizer that was small and expensive and not as flavorful as we expected (it was the ravioli), but the mouse that came with the bread was exceptional. It is pricey, but worth the cost for special occasions. Kids will not appreciate the experience for the money.
Every bit as excellent as when I first started having special occasion meals there over 35 years ago. The fellow serving the water was pretty careless and managed to spill 2 out of our 5 glasses on the table cloth, but that aside, everything else was just plain wonderful!
This is the second time we had dinner at Harrah's Steakhouse and it was fabulous. The food is delicious and the servers are very attentive. If you enjoy steak, they have the best. The offer different selections of fish and they are all wonderful. It's a very classy restaurant. They also offer early bird dinners which are less expensive and just as delicious.
My best dining experience yet! Loved the lemon sorbet with champagne to clean the palet, the chocolates on dry ice, the Caesar salad made at the table and the best ever Dining Room Captain Tommy Loonkaw! He made the evening so much fun. The other wait staff were also super attentive. I can't wait to go back!
We've been going to Harrah's for years and have always loved it. And we can understand that every restaurant has its off nights. But, Harrah's has really gone downhill. The last 5 times or so that we've been there over the last 2-3 years things just suck. The service is bad with ego-centric waiters, the food is terrible and low quality. I think we've gone our last time. And many other people that we know who have loved the place in the past are sharing the same sentiments with us. This is sad! Apparently no one is really in charge of the quality for things.
I was not impressed, my boyfriend and I both got steaks and I feel like for the price they were okay, you don’t get a lot for your money that’s for sure. Both our steaks were gray and had little to no flavor, but the service was excellent and we got seated right away for a Saturday night. I don’t think I will be trying this restaurants again though.
This is the most amazing restaurant I have ever been to. Old school, amazing steaks, impeccable service. We have dined at many 5 star steakhouses, and this by far is the best. Whenever we are in town, we make a point to dine here, and have never been disappointed.
I have been coming here periodically from Texas for over thirty years, and I have always find it to be consistent in the splendid quality of its quisine, the professionalism of its personnel, it’s ambiance, and it’s overall pwerformance. I hope it never changes. It is a treasure.
My husband and I suggested The Steakhouse to good friends who were in town for the weekend. He and I ordered cocktails at the bar while waiting for our guests. The drinks were sublime and the bartender was very helpful when we posed a number of questions to her about the downtown scene. We have eaten at The Steakhouse since the 1990's and the food is as consistently good as it was back then. The four of us snuggled inside our booth, sitting closely side-by-side. The lighting was perfect although the restaurant itself was a tad on the warm side. You cannot beat the steaks here. They are cooked to perfection. The only criticism we have is that Harrah's itself has become run-down and there seems to be deferred maintenance everywhere. This criticism does not apply to the steakhouse. Our friends loved it and we will definitely go back again.
