My husband and I stayed at the Fountain Grove Inn right before the fires destroyed this cute hotel and restaurant. The Steakhouse was great! A lot of tasty dishes on their menu and service was the best. I was very sorry to hear that the restaurant is no longer there.

Food was not cooked to order. Prime Rib ordered med rare, was raw. Flat iron ordered rare, was raw. Did not come with sauce that was ordered. Bread was at least two days old. Caesar salad was bottle dressing. Horrible.

My husband wanted a great steak for his 70th birthday so we took him to Equus because we read good reviews. The meal was absolutely cold as if it had just come out of a refrigerator. The bill was expensive which would have been ok had the meal been worthwhile. The portions were expensive and minimal. Next time, we'll go to Cattleman's.

Both meals were way over cooked. We started eating and stopped. Pushed out plates to the side and when waiter asked we mentioned it was over cooked. His response was I'm sorry handed is out tab with no more questions or thoughts. The bill for 2 people was over $300.00 with a bottle of wine. Very disappointed

No AC, broken & like fools, we stayed since other similar steakhouses would probably be busy since it was Father's Day
Prime rib was cool to touch & grilled like a steak on the outside - very odd
Ribeye was very fatty & again, not hot. It also had an odd propane like taste - like it had been cooked over a small torch
Service was very lame - not enthusiastic at all
Only good part was the young woman who constantly kept our waters filled.
For having no AC on a 100+ night, management should've apologized profusely & offered some discount for we fools who endured. Several parties left due to the heat.
I'm not so sure I'd return.

This place is way way above average. The food is very good. The drinks are generous. The service is friendly and professional. Have the Caesar salad for two made right at your table. Fun and delicious.

Went on a date night with my wife. We ordered the Caesar salad for two which was so so. We ordered the Porter House steak for two which was cooked to perfection. However, I also ordered a lobster tail which was old, dry and had little flavor. It was also very little in size (two bites). This might be a nice place to meet for drinks but I would pass on dinner.

Unbelievably horrible. Requested one of the most common preparations for steak ( medium rare) , the first steak came out medium well, even after telling our server to have the kitchen err on the rare side. Sent it back, which I NEVER DO, the replacement steak was so undercooked it was purple and cold in the middle. Threw my hands up and decided to catch some tacos on the way home. Things happen in the kitchen. I totally get it. However, the place was at around 30% capacity( warning sign on a Friday night) and they still didn't have the time to get it right. That said, the main reason for this negative review is the lack of professional customer service. When a customer is having a negative experience, with validation, one would think that , at the very least, the manager would swing by the table and comp some drinks. That being a very common and , therefore, expected outcome, it didn't happen. The manager was otherwise occupied talking to her friends in the common prep area. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a positive experience, seek it elsewhere.


The steaks, at $40 plus, are not dry aged and are choice cuts.

It was VERY Pricey! I was shocked when I got the bill for Mothers Day Brunch. While the options were excellent and cooked well, I didn't feel it rated a $55 per person charge.

Great Blood Orange Jalapeno Martini! Food was good. Just wish it had more liveliness!
