The Steakhouse at Agua Caliente Ratings and Reviews
I'm sorry to say that the food, 4 different entrees were all very average. And in this day and age with smoking laws as they are, you would think that the ventilation for more of a smoke free environment would be attainable.
The service was excellent.
We only went there because of a show and would not eat there in the future.
We live here full-time and have eaten at the chain steakhouses and the one that is local to the desert. The Steakhouse may be located in a casino, but you would never know it based on the decor, seating options, service, menu options and great service. This time around, our waiter was Shane, who continued our experience of professional, personalized service. The wine selection is fantastic and there are delicious and unique cocktails to choose from. TIP: If attending a show/concert, book early as the 5:00 to 7:00 slots fill quickly.
We had just been to Lawry's restaurant in Las Vegas for prime rib the week before. The prime rib at The Steakhouse at Agua Caliente was superior in every way to the prime rib at Lawry's! We were impressed by the food, service and friendly staff. We will be back again!
This was a wonderful experience! Our waiter was fantastic! He was personable and pleasant, made suggestions and brought us little treats from the chef. The food was fantastic! We both had the filet and also ordered the broccoli/cauliflower au gratin and bacon mashed potatoes! Excellent!
Filet was excellent. We returned our Side dish of broccoli and cauliflower au gratin. No flavor. Just Steamed vegetables, not what we expected. Creamed spinach came in it’s place, not much flavor either. For $10 or more the side dishes could be a lot a better. Lovely dining room. Great service.
Disappointing. We had a high expectation. Started with a nice Meritage Red wine that was reasonablely priced. Our starters were Ahi Poke and Wedge salad. Both looked fabulous, but both had little flavor. We both had the Prime Rib. Wonderful flavor and cooked to perfection. The accompanying Yorkshire pudding was inedible, burnt, cold, and never should have left the kitchen!! We had two sides: Creamed Spinach and Twice Baked Potato which were tasty. The chef needs to be tasting the dishes being produced and keeping an eye on what leaves their kitchen. We won't return. Sad.
Food and service were great, however if you are going before the show, give yourself at least 2 1/2 hours and ask for the check at least 30 minutes before you want to leave. Seems to be the place to go for dinner before the show and everyone wants to leave at the same time.
My husband and I were seated at a table in the very middle of a room which was otherwise full of groups of 4-9 diners at each table. As a result, it was extremely noisy and unpleasant. Shortly after we were seated, I asked to be reseated but, apparently the restaurant was too full and there were no quieter tables available.
In general, the food was quite good. The large area of the restaurant was very nice, but the little room we were put into had very little ambiance.
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service at The Steakhouse. We were there for a pre-theater meal which would be the only reason for me to dine there and my only reason for a recommendation. Convenience. The biggest negative is the fact the Casino’s entire ventilation system is TERRIBLE. It doesn’t matter where you go (except the theatre) it stinks like stale smoke! Even inside the dining room. A patron was smoking inside he restaurants toilets. Unlike Vegas casinos/hotels that generally have good vetalation, this place falls short big time!
We love eating at the Aqua Caliente Steakhouse as much as we love eating at the Steakhouse at their sister casino, the Spa. We had Carlos as our server and started with a martini. We asked Carlos if we could have our food spaced out as we were in no rush and had to take an early time for dinner. He timed everything perfectly. We started with Lobster Bisque and the Ahi Poke Tuna. Both really delicious. The soup was really hot! For our dinners, we had the Sea Bass and my partner had the Calamari. Again, both so good. We also had wine with dinner. This restaurant never disappoints.
Over priced and I get it, you are in a casino. However, a small piece of meat that I could buy for 1/10 the price and had to "beg" for bread, I felt like Pip! Having worked for an entertainment restaurant chain, I know margins and food costs. These managers and owners need to take a field trip to Cheese Cake Factory and see how it is done "pro".
We had reservations & we’re in bar waiting. We had to stand as no room to sit at bar. Bartender ignored us completely. When told we would like to sit, we were told rudely we had 15 more minutes to wait for our reservation. Not one person was in tables out front & very few inside. Manager apologized & bought us dessert. Food was good but we will not go back.
My filet was cooked exactly how I wanted it, which seems to be rare (no pun intended) in restaurants anymore. Most designate that if you want pink in your steak, you order it "medium-well." And then, so ordered, it comes out--medium well with little, if any, pink in the center. But this one was cooked to perfection, and tasted very good.
Everything was steaming hot except for our garlic mashed potatoes, which were just warm and cooled off quickly. But that was the only small blemish in an otherwise great evening out with friends.
Our waitperson in particular was very engaging and friendly. She gave us good advice about sharing the sides and salads, as they come in fairly large portions. She definitely added to our very good dining experience.
It's a little pricey, but not out of line with what we experienced at other restaurants in the Palm Desert area--and the food was top notch.
I took my parents out for what we thought would be a nice birthday dinner.. The service from Christine was terrible it took over an hour and 45 minutes to get our food we ended up being there for 2 and a half hours.. the server hardly checked on us.. My mom's fish was spoiled it tasted like ammonia she sent it back the server recommend something that would be out in 5 minutes and thatd how it tasted .. horrible .. Our food was luke warm we had to ask to get our side dishes that they never brought that took another 10 minutes .. We ordered a bottle of wine on the menu that our server said they no longer carried it was $48 she then recommend a different one said it was a good one and not expensive .. it was not.. I got the bill it was $78 .. she brought the check never offered dessert my parents then ordered after dinner drinks we asked for a dessert menu she never brought it instead brought the check again $290 later with terrible service and food .. We used to love going there we will never go back
My wife and I had a nice pre-show dinner at The Steakhouse. I had the larger filet and my wife had the wagyu steak and lobster. All excellent and worth the money. My magaritas were good too. The only miss was the truffled Mac and cheese. Service was excellent! We'll be back.
This was a very special day for my husband. Waiter spilt wine on table covered it up with a napkin. Got the order wrong for some food items . Had to ask for the rest of the order and then ask for butter. The waiter said that there were bumps in the road this evening! Then when it came for the homemade cotton candy after 20 minutes the waiter came to the table and said the machine was broken. I spent 284.00 on the most horrible experience ever!!!! Going to yelp this restaurant
The only issue was the front desk check in and getting our table.
Three different people said we will be right with you were getting
your table ready. Then we were put at our table and it was not ready.
Also they changed the special occasion desert to a horrible cotton
candy, order anything else. They use to have a rich chocolate
cupcake with berries and ice cream.
I go to the steak house a lot and really enjoy it. The service is great, the food is outstanding and it's always fun to go there. I had the NY strip steak and it was served with a small potato serving and I had creamed corn on the side. I started with the French onion soup. It was my sister's 11th wedding anniversary and we had a great time.
Quality food and service. We were greeted by our name and after drink orders we were served an amuse bouche which was very good. Some ordered salads and the portions were quite large. The Caesar salad was the only thing non-stellar. Our steaks were beautiful cuts done to perfection. There is a chart in the menu which aids in ordering the perfect doneness. It was amazing and the bernnaise sauce was to die for.
