The Steakhouse at Agua Caliente Ratings and Reviews
Over priced and I get it, you are in a casino. However, a small piece of meat that I could buy for 1/10 the price and had to "beg" for bread, I felt like Pip! Having worked for an entertainment restaurant chain, I know margins and food costs. These managers and owners need to take a field trip to Cheese Cake Factory and see how it is done "pro".
We had reservations & we’re in bar waiting. We had to stand as no room to sit at bar. Bartender ignored us completely. When told we would like to sit, we were told rudely we had 15 more minutes to wait for our reservation. Not one person was in tables out front & very few inside. Manager apologized & bought us dessert. Food was good but we will not go back.
My filet was cooked exactly how I wanted it, which seems to be rare (no pun intended) in restaurants anymore. Most designate that if you want pink in your steak, you order it "medium-well." And then, so ordered, it comes out--medium well with little, if any, pink in the center. But this one was cooked to perfection, and tasted very good.
Everything was steaming hot except for our garlic mashed potatoes, which were just warm and cooled off quickly. But that was the only small blemish in an otherwise great evening out with friends.
Our waitperson in particular was very engaging and friendly. She gave us good advice about sharing the sides and salads, as they come in fairly large portions. She definitely added to our very good dining experience.
It's a little pricey, but not out of line with what we experienced at other restaurants in the Palm Desert area--and the food was top notch.
I took my parents out for what we thought would be a nice birthday dinner.. The service from Christine was terrible it took over an hour and 45 minutes to get our food we ended up being there for 2 and a half hours.. the server hardly checked on us.. My mom's fish was spoiled it tasted like ammonia she sent it back the server recommend something that would be out in 5 minutes and thatd how it tasted .. horrible .. Our food was luke warm we had to ask to get our side dishes that they never brought that took another 10 minutes .. We ordered a bottle of wine on the menu that our server said they no longer carried it was $48 she then recommend a different one said it was a good one and not expensive .. it was not.. I got the bill it was $78 .. she brought the check never offered dessert my parents then ordered after dinner drinks we asked for a dessert menu she never brought it instead brought the check again $290 later with terrible service and food .. We used to love going there we will never go back
My wife and I had a nice pre-show dinner at The Steakhouse. I had the larger filet and my wife had the wagyu steak and lobster. All excellent and worth the money. My magaritas were good too. The only miss was the truffled Mac and cheese. Service was excellent! We'll be back.
This was a very special day for my husband. Waiter spilt wine on table covered it up with a napkin. Got the order wrong for some food items . Had to ask for the rest of the order and then ask for butter. The waiter said that there were bumps in the road this evening! Then when it came for the homemade cotton candy after 20 minutes the waiter came to the table and said the machine was broken. I spent 284.00 on the most horrible experience ever!!!! Going to yelp this restaurant
The only issue was the front desk check in and getting our table.
Three different people said we will be right with you were getting
your table ready. Then we were put at our table and it was not ready.
Also they changed the special occasion desert to a horrible cotton
candy, order anything else. They use to have a rich chocolate
cupcake with berries and ice cream.
I go to the steak house a lot and really enjoy it. The service is great, the food is outstanding and it's always fun to go there. I had the NY strip steak and it was served with a small potato serving and I had creamed corn on the side. I started with the French onion soup. It was my sister's 11th wedding anniversary and we had a great time.
Quality food and service. We were greeted by our name and after drink orders we were served an amuse bouche which was very good. Some ordered salads and the portions were quite large. The Caesar salad was the only thing non-stellar. Our steaks were beautiful cuts done to perfection. There is a chart in the menu which aids in ordering the perfect doneness. It was amazing and the bernnaise sauce was to die for.
Whatever the occasion, we’ve always found The Steak House a reliable venue for a satisfying dining experience. They honor their reservations. Their well-trained wait staff is attentive, responsive and informative. How else would I have discovered the delights of Tasmanian beef?
Although their menu offers an abundance of alternatives for non-meat diners, we go there for a steak dinner every bit as good or better than any of the big name establishments in the area.
A different restaurant from a visit a week prior on a friday night. We waited in the bar since we arrived a little early and the crew prepared our table for 6. After several minutes at the bar and the bartender not acknowledging our visit, we returned to the reception stand and let the manager know his suggestion to wait at the bar was not positive. Our table was not set up right as it was very crowded for 6 people/. The manager came by to extend to two leaf's on the table after we were seated.
We requested Amir who was our server the prior week and he is recommended. There was no concert this friday night as last week. But the restaurant was busier. Service was slower it seemed there was less staff on a non concert night.
I ordered a porterhouse to share. I requested the NY side at medium rare and the filet side at medium well. This should not be an issue for a "Steakhouse" However the steak arrived with the filet cut away. The chef had to separate the steaks to cook them at two temperatures. I have been to other "Steakhouses (Ruth's Chris) where aluminum spikes are inserted to a porterhouse to cook at different levels. both portions were overcooked.
So the consistency in service speed and food preparation in two visits a week apart are at opposite ends of the scale.
The only problem we had for our reservation at 5:30PM. We were seated in the dining room for my Son 31 st Birthday Outing:). Ordered a bottle of wine 🍷 and then asked about the Early Bird Specials. The hostess told my family we had to move to the bar or patio to get the Early Bird Specials and they were not on the menu:( So we moved to the patio and ate our meal:(. With the bottle of and 4 early bird specials we spent $ 250.00.
It should not matter where you sit if your willing to spend that kind of money on dinner???? Get your act together and make guests feel welcome so they want to return and spend good money and have a good time. Thanks, Dwight
we came here for dinner before a concert at the Casino. A last minute reservation change was made by the reception and seated early.
The escargot was great cooked in a parchment bag. The seafood pasta dish was very well and the regular ribeye steak was tender and buttery. great wines by the glass.
Our server Amir was great.
Please see review from the following week for comparison
We had 8:00 reservation before a show starting at nine. We ordered just appetizers and told the waiter that we had a time limit. They came out very late and did not have to eat them. I had bites of both and they were delicious. Sorry I didn't have time to eat them.
Went to dinner prior to attending the concert at The Show. We ordered several drinks at the table prior to dining. The servers were attentive without being intrusive. My wife's meal was excellent. I ordered the Halibut special. Although cooked well, the dish was somewhat tasteless. Probably wiser to order steak at a Steakhouse. We've been to The Steakhouse five or six times. We will return as we enjoy our dining there.
service was wonderful....most of the food was great but being we spent 250 on dinner my lobster tails were very tuff and over cooked. very disappointed as it was our 48th anniversary and I didn't want to make my husband feel bad and send them back...70 dollars . sorry cause the rest of it was wonderful. I cook lobster myself but wanted it done for me for a change
Jaime our server was really nice and helpful. And ms gigi the manager and the receptionist are nice. Table is ready as soon as we arrived. Food is a bit pricey but its worth every penny. I Think a nice centerpiece will add nicely to the already beautiful ambiance.
Funny thing, you expect a great steakhouse to have great service. A median steakhouse to have median service, and of course a poor steakhouse....... well you can guess. The food here was good, but for the price it was not what I would consider to be worth it. The service, on the other hand, was poor. The waiter did not know the menu, the servers brought our plates at different times, then brought the side plates later. The waiter seemed more interested in up-selling us rather than concentrate on what we wanted to eat. He pressured us to order more wine, other extras, then the biggest up-sell at the end, dessert! He went on and on about the desserts. Although we politely declined we were subject to a description of each dessert on the menu. It just seems the management is out to make as much profit off each diner rather than worry about the enjoyment of the customers.
The food is amazing. We brought friends who were visiting from out of town. One is a real connoisseur and really knows his food. He ordered the Chateaubriand and was not disappointed. We started with the Surf Meets Sand and the escargot as our appetizer, both were phenomenal. The Double-cut Pork Chops was delicious. None were dissatisfied with our meals.
The smell of smoke from the casino was the first problem. Then my drink order was wrong, but when corrected the drink was fine. Next, they did not have the prime rib cooked medium (the reason for choosing this restaurant). So I had a ribeye which came out medium well instead of medium. The restaurant refunded the entree, but it still did not make the experience any better.
