The Steak House at Silver Reef HOTEL - CASINO - SPA Ratings and Reviews
I had a 9 oz filet mignon that I ordered according to their cooking chart. I ordered med/well and expected a hint of red. the meat was very TOUGH and had zero flavor. The sides--creamed spinach, which we love, was also very mediocre as were the potatoes that were watery. Every time I put my fork down someone tried to clear my plate. We've eaten there before and have enjoyed our meals. Our last meal was less than mediocre and we will not be going back. For the price point the meals need to be consistent---as does the service!!!!
It was actually an amazing experience, you have a very fine dining establishment in the middle of a casino which is good and bad. It's good because everyone should have access to fine dining and the experience of actually having a dinner in a nice atmosphere. The employees presented themselves professionally, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Being inside a casino you have to deal with the fact that you have people and tank tops and shorts, shoveling food in their mouth like they haven't had a meal in a month, and not truly appreciating the fine dining atmosphere that the casino has presented. I'm sure I'm coming off as a snob but to me having a meal of this quality should come with a certain amount of decorum, perhaps not a tie but at least a collared shirt a pair of slacks and a clean appearance. I realize that all of these things are outside the control of the casino and on the Patriots themselves. It's why I don't spend much time at casinos in general, but this Steakhouse is extraordinary, the staff are extraordinary, and the food is extraordinary.
Service was excellent. Excellent value. Food was good to very good. Steak House salad is a recommended try. Prime rib was not as good as it should of been. Salmon also wasn't as good as one would of expected. However our server was excellent and made the experience memorable. Overall The Steak House is a recommended try.
We had 7:15PM reservations and the table was ready when we arrived a few minutes early. We were 2 couples, and my brother and wife were asked for their drink order right away. We hadn't realized they had ordered drinks until they arrived, and we hadn't even been asked. Finally at 7:45 we got their attention and asked if we could also order drinks; a full 30 minutes. Also during this 30 minutes, we hadn't even been asked if we were ready to order our meal yet. Our waiter was very nice, but he may have been waiting too many tables on this evening.
The food is pricy but excellent; most people don't mind paying more for the great food and normally good service. After we finally did order drinks and dinner, the meal came in stages and in a timeframe one would expect. At this visit, I wasn't very happy with the service during the first 30 minutes. They were very accommodating to my brother who is disabled, but the location of the table didn't really give us a very good ambience feeling. If the food wasn't so good, our ratings would have been much lower.
I have been to the steak house more times than I can count and the food is always fabulous. The service is always fabulous and the atmosphere is very calming. I consider myself to be a bit of a steak connoisseur and for sure I have found the best New York steak in the world at the Steak House at Silver Reef. the deserts are amazing too.
When I made the reservation I couldn’t get the time I wanted, when we got to the restaurant there was all kinds of open seating. If I had called the restaurant when it was open I wouldn’t have had a problem getting the time I wanted. After talking to them I understand that this is an ongoing problem with open table. I will try to avoid making my reservations through you in the future. Also it took 3 days to get a confirmation from you which was bothersome.
Girls weekend and the 4 of us enjoyed our dinner very much. Our server was informative, and friendly but could have been a little more attentive. We ordered their table side Cesar Salad and it did not disappoint, so so good! Steaks were cooked perfectly and the salmon was also very good! It is pricey, but when you receive wonderful service and your dinner is more of an experience rather than just a meal out, we did not mind paying a little more. I would recommend this place to friends.
The restaurant made us wait 15 min longer than our reservation, they said we had booked for two not three, which as we can see is incorrect, as well the steak and potatoe came out luke warm. For the cost to eat there the food should be presented at better temperature.
This was our first time and we were celebrating our 37th Anniversary so we booked into the hotel for the night and made reservation ahead for the steakhouse. Everything was fantastic, cooked perfectly (I'm a foodie so something always goes wrong) and we enjoyed everything except we ate too much (not their fault) and have a plan for next time, which will be soon.
This was an anniversary celebration. We started as a party of two but had sudden out of town guests. The restaurant happily accommodated us. Each course was very good. We were given a complimentary appetizer of crackers and a crab spread when we sat down. Then freshly baked bread was brought along with an appetizer of coquille st Jacque. Three different types of butter were brought with the bread. Two of us ordered the small filet, one the rib eye, and one the prime rib. Each entree was cooked perfectly. The side dishes were the Swedish potatoes and a baked potato. Portions were large and delicious. We also ordered two different types of mushrooms, and asparagus. Those sides were large and we had so much we took about half of it home. The presentation of everything was excellent. Our server was Jay. He was attentive and did not miss a thing. All in all, it was the best dinner we have had in a very long time. This is a restaurant we will return to often.
We dined last weekend with another couple to celebrate a birthday. Our initial impression was good....our service started off fine but through out our meal we had a very difficult time finding pur server when needed. We asked for horseradish numerous times and never received it. We waited (in my opinion) too long for our second bottle of wine.....as soon as we finished our meal my girlfriend became very ill and spent the remainder of the evening and most of the following day in our room. Overall - I would say I was disappointed given price of the food and reputation the restaurant had. I was hoping for a much better experience.
The Steakhouse is as good a most restaurants in the Metro area -- in fact very few "beat" this place. By FAR the BEST steaks in Bellingham -- especially if you know anything about steaks. Seafood is very good at The Steakhouse too, but come on -- these steaks are awesome. There are certainly things I've tried and don't like (not a fan of steak Diane, but never had it before), but yet those meals were quality. Sometimes trying new things doesn't pan out, other times you discover a new meal and something about yourself! My wife and I have visited The Steakhouse many times since it originally opened. NEVER disappointed with them, always a special time. There are certainly other "steakhouses" in Whatcom county, but NONE of them come close to The Steakhouse for experience, ambiance, service, and quality of food. Don't be fooled by the "other" steakhouses who claim some history of cooking steak -- some of who have recently closed their doors. Those other guys don't have the service, the quality of food, nor the portions. And OMG! The banana's Foster is absolutely heavenly! How can something with bananas taste sooooooo good??? If you disagree with anything I've said here, allow me to point out that the Outback is down in Burlington -- leave now and you might make it before closing. However, for those serious about the best experience north of Seattle, visit The Steakhouse. (Yes, it's in a casino. So what. Get over it. Thank goodness it offers a steady stream of customers, I'd hate to lose this gem. Remember the Cliff house? Northwest Prime Rib? The Marina? Pacific Café? Nimbus? Bluewater Bistro? The Calumet? The KEG? Stars?) It ain't cheap, but the guy at the table next to you isn't dropping F-bombs and on his 2nd pitcher of beer, and the steaks are cooked to the temperature you order it, and the servers truly deliver. (I'm pointing at you BlackForest in Bellingham who just closed down...)
Awesome steaks. Very good food at very good prices. A bit of a bonus that we could enjoy a cigar later just beside the bar. A shame that they closed the cigar room but a bonus that we can still have a cigar there. Will definitely return for another great meal.
