As soon as we sat down our waiter greeted us and took drink orders and told us about the specials. Our drinks were delivered and our order was taken we ordered the Caesar salad prepared table side and it was delicious they also brought crackers with crab dip and fresh baked bread. After that we were given a pallet censer before our dinner arrived my wife had the salmon which she said was amazing and my brother, my Mom and I all had the filet minion with crab stuffed prawns which was perfectly cooked and was melt in your mouth wonderful. After dinner we had the french press coffee that came with white and dark chocolate pieces and sugar stirring sticks and for desert my wife had the creme brulee , my mom had the Chocolate Rockette and my brother and I had the Brandy Alexander all of which were great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an amazing meal for a special occasion or date night.
Nice birthday celebration with friends, but (unbeknownst to me until it was too late) the cosmo cocktail that the waiter prepared table-side for me before dinner had FOUR shots of alcohol (I was later told). I think he waiter did this as a 'birthday gift' (?) -- I don't know -- but it was no fun being instantly smashed and incoherent throughout dinner while everyone else was sober. I don't drink often except for the occasional cocktail when dining out, so I felt like I'd been slipped a roofie. I guess no one told him... not everyone wants to get wasted.
Other than that, the food and service was good and the ambiance intimate and ritzy. The prices are astronomical though so check the menu online before you go. Another tip... you have to walk through the smokey, sleazy casino to get to the restaurant. Next time I'll look for an alternate entrance.
Top notch service & food
This was an amazing experience for dinner. The service & staff were amazing and the food was delicious
From the moment we arrived the service was superb, above average. The martini was divine, the bar/wine server knew his stuff. The wine list made it hard to choose but he was informative and helpful. The chef special appetizer of crab cakes was perfectly presented and all crab! No filler here. The filler mignon , one with oscar and the other a lobster tail were cooked to perfection and divinely heavenly. The lobster tail tho, sets them apart. So big and delicious! Well worth the price. They accommodated a request for steamed veggies no problem. Not your every night kind of place, but a go-to place for a delicious and special dining experience. Can't wait to have a reason to go back. Did I mention the dark chocolate truffles provide at the end of dinner, on the house, for my birthday celebration......mmmmmm
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. The evening and food was perfect. Our waiter Jacks was fabulous and helped to make the evening fun.
A little disappointed in the main server. The cocktail server was spot on , however the main server totally lacked any personality and was not at all on the spot for the amount of the cost of the meals. my over experience is to expensive for the service and definitely would not recommend You might take note of how the other high end establishments treat their patrons. I am more than glad to pay top dollar for top dollar food and service unfortunately the steak house fell quite short on service.
Loved our waiter. He was very attentive. He made a wonderful Ceasar salad. Filet was delicious. Portions of food were large. Good cooked to perfection. I will definitely come back again. Very reasonably priced too
I love The Steak House at Silver Reef! Everything about our visit was awesome. We were greeted promptly by a smiling professional hostess, the wine sommelier was very knowledgeable great recommendations for wine. The food is amazing my steak was cooked to perfection, my lobster was delightful. Everything was great we will be back!
Brought my boyfriend here to celebrate "us" and was definitely pleased with the entire visit. Everything was perfect and I couldn't have been happier. The food was awesome and well worth the cost. Will definitely come here again.
The food was excellent as was the service. My friend and I both had the ribeye bone in special. Most places always overcook my meat despite n the medium rare request but the Steakhouse chef(s) did a phenomenal job on both our steaks. The creme brûlée was excellent as well. Special thanks to Crystal(the hostest with the mostest) for getting the reservations taken care of, so the dinner went off without a hitch. Look forward to more food and interactions with the Reef's host(est). Thanks again. Now if you could just arrange for me to win at the slots on the same night then it would have been a flawless evening.
The birthday chocolates & candle were a nice touch & everyone said Happy Bday to my husband it was his 80 th. My lamb was amazing! Thanks!
Like one of the great restaurants you find in Las Vegas with noted chefs but this one is near Bellingham, Washington. The chef, though not famous, rates with the best for this type of food. You even go through a Las Vegas like casino to enter The Steak House. This has its pros and cons. Once there however, the ambience, service, food and wine rates with the finest steak houses. You will not find a better Caesar Salad anywhere and it is prepared tableside as are many other food & drink offerings. Ask for the waiter Todd as he is a pro at this. Start with his martini's mixed at the table as they are awesome. However know that they have a winning wine selection to enhance the succulent steaks. This place is a winner!
I ordered the jumbo shrimp stuffed with Dungeness crab. First of all the shrimp was not even close to being jumbos, second of all they over cooked them until they were like rubber balls. our server never came and asked us how things were until after we were done eating. I left 4 of the 5 shrimp and my husband told the server how bad they were, The server never bothered to fix the problem or offer me something else. We never seen the server again. He sent another server to clear the table and the hostess to bring our bill. Never offered us dessert or anything. And charged us for the rubber balls. It was our wedding anniversary and we left there with a bad taste in our mouth.
Food quality and presentation is great! The atmosphere is very pleasant and comfortable.
If you want that special place to go to where your anniversary becomes more than just a nice dinner date out...then go to the steak house! We were wine'd and dined, great service all around, the best caesar salad,( I would go back just for that salad alone) the steak and lobster combo was a real treat, and the Monte Cristo truffles served with a special message, was the nicest touch. We will see you again ! Thank you
We had a great time at the Steakhouse restaurant. The host sat us at our table. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. There was an extensive wine list and I wanted a glass of rose zinfandel wine and I received that. My husband wanted a peach bellini but there was no peach puree for the bellini therefore he chose a frozen strawberry margarita.
I had filet mignon with crab stuffed prawns that was delicious. I chose garlic mashed potatoes as a side. My husband had the grilled salmon on a bed of tomatoes and spinach which was very delicious as well. He also chose to have the garlic mashed potatoes. There was a waiter that would replenish our water glasses promptly as they got low. We enjoyed the palette cleansing course made with a bit of champagne and a ball of sorbet. We had a very wonderful dinner and the service was great. I would go back again to this fine dining restaurant. Thank you for a memorable experience.
Lovely meal, service great, best steak House around!
From the appetizer, salad, steak and dessert, by far the best dining experience in Whatcom County. Exceeded my expectations, and would highly recommend to those seeking a great meal and a memorable one that will keep you wanting to go back.
The staff was very accommodating when friends decided to join our table after we had already ordered and received our appetizers.
I had the Rib-Eye and it was a little rare so they took it back and cooked it for a few more... came back perfect. Super tender and flavorful. I think the price is appropriate for a top notch steak house. The Cesar Salad was pretty good, but you get so much food that it seems like overkill to get a salad also. The Swedish potatoes that you can get with your steak are amazing also. For anniversaries or whatever, this place is the best in Whatcom County in my opinion.
In my top 4 list of favorite restaurants - but after the amazing dinner last Saturday, I honestly can't remember the other 3.
Great service, perfectly cooked steaks, ambiance (for lack of a better word) is just what I'm looking for with in a restaurant / dining experience.
Until my next visit to the Steak house at Silver Reef - I will continue to try to remember my other 3 favorite restaurants.
We had dinner with another couple and it was a wonderful experience.
Our waiter was great, as I have celiac disease and he was careful to ensure that I only had gluten free foods. We will defintely come back again.
The food selection is great, never had a poor meal at the steakhouse.
The service is consistantly excellent.
We have been to this restaurant twice and were not disappointed on either visit. We will definitely be back. The best prime rib dinner we have ever had. The service was excellent. Very friendly staff.
We had a complementary meal (a gift from a friend) at the Steak House and had a wonderful time. We were treated like royalty and had a mouth watering delicious meal with all the fancy trimmings. Fine dining at its best.
The dining experience at the Silver Reef Steakhouse was romantic and superb. The staff were exceptional and added to the comfortable atmosphere. I cannot say enough about the food! If you are looking for a fine dining experience with amazing food and a welcoming environment, you need to go to the Silver Reef Steakhouse. We will be back!
Exception steaks, incredible service, extensive wine list, wonderful ambience! Best steak north of Seattle! On my Best of the Best List!
This would be a 5 Star experience if you did not have to walk through the casino to get here.
Our experience was superb. The food, service and just the experience is what made it a memorable experience.
Though it wasn't a special occasion, my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner Friday night at The Steakhouse in the Silver Reef Casio. Though a bit pricy, the food and service were was wonderful, and the atmosphere was excellent. My brother and wife had been here recently and we were told it was the best steak they had ever had. Because of that we had to try it, and we were not disappointed.
I love this restaurant. The food is always delicious and the service is always impeccable.
My husband and I took our parents there after Christmas and they were thoroughly impressed.
I love that it is in the casino as we will often go there for a full evening of fun.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
We went for our 45th Wedding Anniversary. It was the perfect place to be. Also clothes to home. Everyone is so friendly. Thank you for making our night so special. Our waiter brought us a plate that said Happy Anniversary with two chocolates. So beautiful ly decorated.
Silver Reef has the best food north of Seattle. The attention to detail that is apparent each time we have dinner at the Steak House.
The steaks and lamb are great. Nothing special to the ambiance and if you end up with a large party being seated in the middle, the noise level and service evolve in a reverse relationship. It is however the only notable steakhouse in the area so in the country of the blind, the one eyed man is king. The wine list is more congested than selective. The wine Stewart needs a few classes and the waiters really need an education in the fine points of service. I found that also to be forced. They found that uncovering the plates all at once is the brand of a good high class place but forgot that cleaning the table should not be done cafeteria style. The chef is good. Producing high quality meats but you must love steak....nothing much else on the menu. We were offered a crab spread as a "compliments of the chef" which was more Philadelphia cheeses spread than crab. As a local place is great. As a fine restaurant, it still has miles to go! Much like its casino!
This is the 5th time my wife and I have enjoyed our anniversary dinner at The Steak House. David and Jacks along with the whole staff were fantastic and we can't wait to go back. Thanks to all of them for making our evening even more special.
We’ve dined here many times and each time the food is extra ordinary, special, as well as the service. I’d recommend this for QUITE, ROMANTIC and SPECIAL OCCATIONS. With that said, we were extremely disappointed Dec.19th when we were seated amongst a room full of people having a company celebration. They were so obnoxious and loud that you could not hear and impossible to have a conversation.
Why the front desk seated our group in a booth smack in the middle of this environment of ongoing festivities is beyond reason. If there was no seating available they should have canceled our reservations.
APPLAUSE to the waiters… numerous times while waiting on us they were VERY APOLOGETIC to the noise.
When the partying group dissipated for the evening, a member came over to our booth and apologized for the noise as well.
The Steakhouse at the Silver Reef is our favorite location for a special dinner. The food is amazing and the service is superb. Most of the tables are very private and you feel like you are there by yourself. The steak is the best available north of Seattle. Dinner is an event so plan on at least two hours for dinner. FABULOUS!
My wife and I went to the Steak House for the first time. We had read the reviews and we were expecting the best. We were not disappointed. The servers (and there were many) were all top notch and clearly took pride in their work. The steak was beyond our expectations. This was a first class experience. We will definitely return !
As our Christmas present to one another, my wife and I, both over 69 years, went to a late ( 7:30 pm ) dinner. We had a great lobster bisque soup and a caeser salad for two, prepared at table side - have not experienced that for 30+ years ! ), plus wonderful bread and three types of butter. The service was fantastic but not intrusive. I highly recommend this restaurant. I wish it were open for lunch. Benn Haynes, Bellingham, WA.
Everything was top of the scale. We love this place for a special date.
