   Great choice of different meals. I had the duck which was delicious. The location is wonderful. The Marlborough Sauvignon was expensive but good.

   Poor welcome, initial service was poor, slow delivery of drink order, wine not sufficiently chilled , waitress dower. We asked for an outside table , told none available, noticed there was free tables asked again and eventually given access to the free table. One main ( Ox cheek) arrived and was inedible mush , manager tried to justify but then replaced

   Beautiful evening meal in York. We dined from the al La Carte menu & we’re not disappointed. Finished the evening with a cocktail overlooking the river.

   The service was very slow. They took a long time to take order and drinks took a while, then no one cleared the table. We asked for the bill and left. We were put on a tiny table and ignored. Food over priced. The chunky chips tasted old like left over warm ups! It was a beautiful evening and there was no need for all the umbrellas up it made you feel hemmed in, not being able to appreciate the surroundings. I booked for food but walk ins having drinks were given better tables.

   Consistently excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Great terrace overlooking the river for warm days. Not cheap, but worth it

   One of the best locations anywhere in North Yorkshire for a sunshine lunch, the food is great but the service unfortunately was non existent - had to ask for everything at least once. mostly twice... really shoddy for such a lovely place with fantastic memories... needs sorting out please,,,,

    Great location on the river. We ate on the terrace on a beautiful sunny Sunday and soaked up the sun and the relaxed atmosphere. Sunday lunch menu was good, with a tasty veggie option of carrot and marmalade wellington … and of course Yorkshire puddings for everyone. Great non-alcoholic cocktail list and also a good review for the house white wine. Super place to while away a sunny Sunday!
