Took an hour to get seated, even with having a reservation...
What's the point of reserving then?
Another terrific meal at The Standard. We never expected such good food and service from a hotel restaurant. The menu isn't huge but most things are tasty. The trout was excellent. Skip the Cosmopolitan made with beet juice - did not work. Don't miss the chocolate mousse - it's a lot of fun!
Love the Grill for breakfast, the berry blast is terrific, great table
Great atmosphere with attentive staff.. a must go to in NYC
Wasn’t expecting much, knowing how trendy the restaurant’s namesake hotel is. Usually one sacrifices something in this type hotel and its associated restaurants. Not in this case. Not only was our service perfect (I credit our attentive, charming server, Regina, for that), but the food was delicious as good as many of the top restaurants in the city. More comfort food than haute cuisine, it is nonetheless done with great skill and finesse. I will think about the crispy porchetta served over cannellini beans and braised chard (?) and may even try to replicate it. It was a show stopper.
I love The Standard Grill and have been here many times. It's an institution! This evening, the noise level from the beer garden was loud and the waiter was a bit slow, but it's always a good and lively experience.
Service was awful, our waiter was extremely rude and condescending. Barely paid attention to us, and gave us an attitude when we wanted to order more drinks and additional sides. Will not come back
We treated ourselves to our first night's dinner in New York. So glad that we did, it was absolutely marvelous food. Service was punctual, wine was poured when needed, and there was no hurry to vacate the table.
I would definitely recommend the Grill for a fabulous night out!
I went to brunch. I love the atmosphere filled sophisticated travelers. Unfortunately being a New Yorker I found the food disappointing but maybe it was what I ordered. The Huevos Rancheros was more like a Nacho bowl I could get at a sporting event. Not so great and I should of returned it given the price. Maybe that is what tourists like?
I love the Standard, it has a great location and we were able to eat outside. Service was very slow.
Great experience. Very good venue for a date.
Excellent service. Creative menu. Food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. This is a busy trendy spot.
Great Atmosphere, Amazing service, and outstanding food. The Swordfish was delectable!
All good!

Finally made it to The Standard Grill! We've been told by many that it's a "must..." Well, they were correct. We arrived early for our reservation and were greeted with a smile and a "no problem." We were seated and the fun began. Good service, great food and a lovely ambiance. Manager clearly walking around and ensuring all is well, he even re-filled our water glasses. Not usual for a manager to do! We tried the "specials" entrees and were very happy. My martini was perfect, as were the wine selections. We'll certainly be back. Thanks for a fun experience!
Darelle was an awesome host and our server was amazing!!!!
This place never disappoints! Love the food, and service is wonderful too. Great atmosphere and good sharing plates.
Really delicious Sunday brunch. Great eggs and the challah French toast is really fantastic!
Fantastic oysters and great wine!
Love the rum custard donuts!!
The place is beautiful; the service is lackluster. We split the turkey sandwich and the steak salad. It was tasty but not enough food for 2 people to eat. The prices are in line with other places like it but still too pricey for uninspired presentation and less than impressive service.
The Steak was fabulous!
Loved it. A favorite
Ordered an appetizer that came after our food.
Great ! Always awesome food. Staff could be improved upon
First time to Standard Grill - it was for brunch. Hostesses were friendly & accommodating. Service staff were quite helpful when we had menu questions & spills. Food was very tasty. Atmosphere was pleasant. Would definitely return & also recommend!
Birthday party for friend. Good food, superlative Service, nice room.
One thing I love about New York is the abundance of terrific restaurants. I Iove coming to the Standard Hotel for it's modern, unique design, and for it's restaurant. The grill has delicious cured meats and steaks. Since I'm a meatatarian I don't need to look further than downstairs to get an excellent dinner :)
We loved, loved, LOVED, Marco. Amazing service. Amazing tache.
A terrific meal and service. Marco our server guided us well and advised our choices. We had a wonderful evening
Quite good experience, but no more. Looks like they have lost their ambitions.
Very good service and timely from start to finish. Food quality was very good. Portions not huge, but adequate
What's happened to the roast chicken??? Whenever I'm in New York, I make time for a visit to The Standard to enjoy their roast chicken. It's sublime. But it's now off the menu. We were so disappointed we nearly left to go somewhere else, but we stayed because Monique, our server was persuasive and encouraged us to try something else. I can't pretend it was as good as the roast chicken, but we had a great meal and a lovely evening.

I've been there for dinner;this was first time for brunch and it was amazing-great food, lively but not too noisy, all kinds of people, old, young, kids, tourists, locals. Wish we had room to eat dessert because they look fantastic. Its a terrific place for brunch and pretty reasonably priced
I requested during the reservation that it was a special occasion.it was to celebrate my to be mommy friend good news but it was not taken care of during the visit.
Really disappointed as I was looking forward for a surprise for my friend.
Great food, great service, great vibes, would definitely recommend
I went for Valentines Day- the host was rude, he clearly didn’t like the fact I had booked through open table since it seemed that removed us from having to do the prix fixe menu. We arrived a few minutes and then were told to wait a few minutes- standard, but it turned into about 30 minutes even though the restaurant was pretty quiet. Our waitress was flustered and clueless- our drinks took forever and we were brought the wrong deserts, which then took even longer to correct. The food was basic and unremarkable. Won’t be going back.
A less than amazing Valentine’s Day meal. A 745 pm reservation, at 920 pm we had to ask the waiter where our first course was. Rather than checking on us as we waited, they held out until we complained. The food was fine, but hardly memorable. Not the Valentine’s Day experience I would hope for, especially at $350 for dinner for two.
Our waitress was the coldest person I’ve ever met.
