I've been there for dinner;this was first time for brunch and it was amazing-great food, lively but not too noisy, all kinds of people, old, young, kids, tourists, locals. Wish we had room to eat dessert because they look fantastic. Its a terrific place for brunch and pretty reasonably priced
I requested during the reservation that it was a special occasion.it was to celebrate my to be mommy friend good news but it was not taken care of during the visit.
Really disappointed as I was looking forward for a surprise for my friend.
Great food, great service, great vibes, would definitely recommend
I went for Valentines Day- the host was rude, he clearly didn’t like the fact I had booked through open table since it seemed that removed us from having to do the prix fixe menu. We arrived a few minutes and then were told to wait a few minutes- standard, but it turned into about 30 minutes even though the restaurant was pretty quiet. Our waitress was flustered and clueless- our drinks took forever and we were brought the wrong deserts, which then took even longer to correct. The food was basic and unremarkable. Won’t be going back.
A less than amazing Valentine’s Day meal. A 745 pm reservation, at 920 pm we had to ask the waiter where our first course was. Rather than checking on us as we waited, they held out until we complained. The food was fine, but hardly memorable. Not the Valentine’s Day experience I would hope for, especially at $350 for dinner for two.
Our waitress was the coldest person I’ve ever met.
I am a regular guest at the Standard. Food was a disaster, the steak was not eatable. Let's hope it is just an accident.
This place is always fantastic. It's a must visit for us every time we're in NYC.
Always a great experience. I go there both for social and for business reasons. Great attentive staff. Excellent food. I highly recommend.
Waited 20 minutes for waitstaff to stop by table.
Reservation at 9. Didn’t get seated until 10...
I live right around the corner from The Standard and this is hands down one of my favorite go to places in the city and has been for years. The ONLY reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of the 5 +++ stars it normally deserves is that they changed the chicken dinner for 2!! This was IMO absolutely the BEST dish in the city!!! So romantic, served in cast iron with all the herbaceous chicken juices, grilled sour dough bread... that and a side of crispy potatoes and brussel sprouts and that's it, done. I'm in heaven. Now they have an OK chicken dish with chimichurri on the side. I would do anything to have the old chicken dinner back on the menu. So upset I could cry. It was really that good.
Good dinner, but this spot is more about the scene than the food/service. One suggestion is to grab some oysters and a cocktail at the bar rather than dinner in the back.
A perfect spot for brunch with a friend. Food was good - approx 40USD per person for brunch. I would recommend.
Great awesome waitress
Awesome food. Great environment
Very nice restaurant with a good variety of food and drinks. The mood is elegant but not excessively so, while the service is not very consistent. The food is very well prepared and I especially like their meat. Pricing is on the standard mid to high range (it’s NYC after all). A good place to visit if you are in the meatpacking district.
Great find for impromptu lunch. Request seating at the leather banquettes. Crispy brussel sprouts to die for. Soup could have been warmer temperature. Waiter was very attentive.
My boyfriend and I chose to do dinner here for our first night in NY on our long weekend getaway. Honestly, everything about The Standard Grill was flawless. From making easy reservations to having our food prepared and brought to the table promptly. The food was intensely flavorful and nicely proportioned. Our waiter was very nice and helpful, giving us his honest recommendations. The atmosphere is very calm and intimate. This is a restaurant I must come back to everytime we’re in New York.
Hostess is quite pleasant and makes you feel welcome but both mornings I came I seemed to get a grouchy waitress. Just very short and inattentive. A little smiling might have helped them both. I also unfortunately had to witness my 2nd waitress complain to the hostess about these business men sitting near by. Food is good and standard grill is convenient if your staying in the hotel but if you are just getting coffee or even a quick bite, sit in the lounge with all the red chairs, they are very friendly and attentive!!
We stumbled upon The Standard Grill last year for NYE dinner and enjoyed it so much, we decided to go again for NYE 2018. We had fun again and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was awesome as well ( the lamb and Brussels sprouts were delicious!). It was my birthday and they were very accommodating. I would highly recommend dinner at The Standard Grill.
Meal was not good and extremely overpriced. Very disappointed with service after not being seated until an hour and a half after our reservation. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Unfortunately waited 20 minutes for waitress to come by first time for drinks. Ribeye was exceedingly fatty. Bill arrived before dessert and coffee? Unusually poor experience at a regular stop for us.
We try to get here at least once or twice a year when in NYC. Found the hosting staff to be very accommodating and the service to be exceptional. Love this place.
I took my family here for Christmas dinner. The food was cold not even close to delicious. The large table behind us ordered after us and got their food before us, which may have contributed to the cold entrees and disappointing food, but I can only surmise the three times we saw our server during the entire meal was the major factor. Of course we paid holiday premium pricing on top of it. At least the dining room was pretty.
Love this place.the deal closer isn t to miss.everytime I come to NYC should have dinner @ this restaurant.
Pretty disappointing, actually. Had been here for many family meals before, but after this visit, we'll be making other plans for brunch. Food was mediocre at best. Bland (and paltry) avocado toast, soft scrambled eggs actually come with tons of herbs in them, came across more like a local diner. Wait staff was super nice, so that was a plus!
