Everything about dinner was fantastic!
We chose The Standard for our anniversary dinner while visiting Nashville. It was absolutely beautiful. The food, drinks, and service were on point. Could have pick a better place to top off our vacation.
The Standard is an entire mood! From the moment we got there to the moment we left, EVERYTHING was stellar. Kevin met us at the door and told us about the history of the building, then used a key to open the door so we could enter. We were met by the loveliest hostess, Mrs. Smith, whose family currently owns The Standard. Yes, one of the owners showed us to our table! She was so kind. Our serving team, Andy and Michelle were attentive when they needed to be and gave us space to enjoy the moment, food, and atmosphere at just the right times. Apps: I enjoyed some of the best crab bisque I've ever had (that's saying a lot since I'm from New Orleans...lol!). My husband enjoyed the Fried Green Tomatoes topped with lump crab meat. We shared our entree of the filet with truffle hash cake. Our highest compliments to the chef! After dinner, we walked back to the bar for dessert and drinks. Billie was one of our bartenders and sadly, I can't recall the other bartender's name but they were both just as wonderful as the rest of the staff. We split the Bourbon Glazed Cheesecake for dessert. I can honestly say that was one of the best slices of cheesecake I've had in a long time. The texture was like silk in food form (I hope that makes sense) All in all, it is so worth it to dine at The Standard. We plan on making it one of our stops every time we visit Nashville.
Perfect Anniversary Spot
Atmosphere was amazing! Service was super! And the food was fantastic!
Very much enjoyed our first dining experience at The Standard. Staff helped us celebrate our special occasion. The valet man was super energetic and friendly!!
We celebrated our anniversary here and they went out of their way to make everything special for us. We enjoyed being greeted at the door with the history of the building and then welcomed by the owner. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent. What a gem!
We were traveling on our way home to Missouri. We enjoyed a light dinner (salads and appetizers). The service was excellent, the food delicious.
Great experience. Limited menu and subpar desserts for this level of dining.
The food and atmosphere is amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive.
It's a beautiful historic home lovingly shared by the proud owners. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate 30 years of marriage. Zeke the bartender made beautifully crafted cocktails and Brandin served us amazing crab bisque, filets, cheesecake and French press coffee. He gifted celebratory glasses of champagne. It was a perfect dinner.
The Standard has been on my list for a long time. I finally got there for dinner with 2 colleagues from our trade association for a business dinner. I was greeted by name by the valet as we got out our car - nice touch. He gave us some historical background on the venue and showed us to the main entrance. We were then greeted by our hostess who, along with her husband, own this stunning building - the oldest surviving residence in the city of Nashville.
The food and service were very, very good. Our waiter Jimmy was a joy, he masterfully managed to anticipate our needs without ever being intrusive. Jimmy was always there when you wanted something, always with a wry smile and witty banter.
The menu is not expansive but comprehensive featuring a few regional classics and traditional steaks, lamb and seafood. Again the wine list is not expansive but is very tastefully done with an adequate variety of choices. The bourbon list is solid.
We all had an excellent meal, in wonderfully unique surroundings taken care of by people who obviously know and love their craft.
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant—from the time you step out of your car (complimentary valet) to the time you walk out of the door to leave, the experience was impeccable. Mrs Susan, who will greet and seat you at your table, is the definition of Southern hospitality. Our server, Michelle, was very attentive and friendly, and gave us some great recommendations on how to finish our our trip to Nashville. The food was AMAZING, easily one of the top 3 restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating at. I would definitely eat here again—cannot recommend enough, 10/10.
Definitely coming back, all good!
Next level service. Everyone is so attentive and welcoming. Definitely recommend!
Great service and food. Environment is very unique.
The Smiths are absolutely the most amazing hosts...the historic home makes for the best atmosphere and ambiance you could ask for. Nashville’s best dining experience.
Wonderful food and service!
The Standard fillet is the reason I drove 14 hours from New York. This restaurant has the best food in town. I will forever be coming back to this beautiful restaurant again and again. Sharon is a lovely woman. I wish I could get this food in New York. For now, I’ll just have to drive for the best steak of my life.
Incredible experience - best in Nashville!
Charming historic home, sweet owner/hostess, professional staff. Amazing food- loved the seared chilean seabass with veges with broth on the side (thanks for mixing and matching clean items for my eating style). Husband loved the filet with the cream sauce (he's not a truffle oil fan so the potatoes were not his thing- I liked them!) but the dish was amazing. Even the warm bread and homemade chive butter with salt was yummy! We will be back!
From the moment you are greeted at the main entrance and asked to wait to be escorted in, you know this will be a special occasion. Your hostess is Mrs Smith who guides you gently back to the bar. This itself is special because the room is small but very esthetically pleasing. You get your aperitif and once you settle your bar tab (in your own time), they call the hostess stand and you are escorted to your table in one of several separate rooms. The service from then on is expertly attentive. The food is excellent. I went for the Standard filet and did not regret that choice. My wife had the Sea Bass and was equally pleased. We had complimentary half baked chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and although the cost is on the high side, I have to give 5/5 for value because this is a dining experience in the true sense. Wonderful.
Everything was amazing as usual! Food, service, ambience...always wonderful.
The dining experience was superb! The food was incredible. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming.
This is a fantastic place to eat and I will be back. The greeting on the curb to the exit was superior service, food, and table service. The family-style plates, such as the full of flavor and taste green beans, the mac and cheese and the corn were superb. The steaks were perfect; the desert was amazing with a fluffy cheesecake, a warm half-baked chocolate chip cookie, or the warm red velvet cookie, all with ice cream. There is a lot of character in the home, and the same can be said of the owner as she was delightful. DRF
Absolutely amazing place! From the history to the service and food. This place deserves six stars!
The restaurant is beautiful and has great history. The food was good but one of the meals came out cold the lamb chops. They took it back and it was still lukewarm. All of the other dishes were good. The service was great the server even took us in a tour of the house. It is amazing
recommend this for food and ambiance
Awesome customer service from the valet driver, hostess, and wait staff!! Great Anniversary experience!
Restaurant The building is outstanding old touch of the past kept in a classic manner. The horses will greet you his number one she treat you like a family member.Food is good prices are a bit high a nice place to visit once.
Excellent experience. Both the staff and food were outstanding. The owners made you feel welcomed and took the time to explain the history of the building.
I highly recommend this establishment.
Without a doubt the best dining experience in Nashville!
My husband and I don’t get to go out very often due to our hectic schedule. This experience was phenomenal. From the moment we walked in we were greeted cordially and seated in a quiet area. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and made an effort to get to know us. The food was exceptional. If we are in Nashville again, we absolutely will return to The Standard!!!! Best in class Highly recommend you go!
Fantastic food and amazing service. Highly recommend this place!
This upscale restaurant is also an experience. The food is amazing~ The dinks are yummy ~ The service was exceptional ~ After dinner they allow you to go into their bar that is beyond historically gorgeous and relaxing. We will be back!
We had been here years ago and then forgot about it and I’ve been twice in the past month absolutely love that we have re-discovered this amazing restaurant in Nashville. The people there are so personable and go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and enjoy your experience.
Your dining experience starts from the moment you are greeted by valet attendant. It was very interesting to learn the history of this restaurant. We loved ambience, excellent meals and superior service. We enjoyed everything!
Utterly delightful. An evening out with my daughter who was visiting from Colorado. From the moment we were greeted by name at the street to the nightcap in the courtyard, our experience at The Standard was exceptional. The atmosphere is one of a kind in the antebellum home which has been impeccably restored. The staff is first rate from top to bottom. The host that seated us was mindful of our attire and accommodated appropriately before bringing us to our table. Our server was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and made great recommendations. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes which were extra special with crab meat and a delicious remoulade made with grain mustard. My daughter had the Lamb which was fantastic. The peach purée expertly paired with the lamb which was perfectly cooked. I had the Standard Filet which which was tender and flavorful and cooked to order. Each course was perfectly timed for our enjoyment. The Standard really sees to the details, from the absolutely divine butter served with the bread to the Sinatra classics playing in the background, nothing was overlooked. We both remarked afterwards that it had been quite some time since a restaurant had not disappointed but The Standard definitely did not! Most enthusiastically recommended!
THE best dining experience I have EVER had! The service was incredible as was the food!
