Lovely evening. Attentive and pleasant wait staff. Wine flights were great! Food was delicious and nicely presented. Highly recommend for a special dinner.

I have gone to the restaurant on many occasions in prior years. I took my mom there for her birthday this year. I never write reviews, but I have to say that the food was really awful. 2 out of three dishes were sent back. The lamb chops were cold and tasted boiled (it's hard to screw up lamb). The trout was covered in onions and lost all fish taste. Even the bread at the beginning of the meal was awful...wonder bread.

A huge disappointment. And I felt awful because it was a special occasion.

Stained Glass is superb in every way. Their menu is exceptional, their service is fabulous , and I love the ambiance in the restaurant ! The tuna tuna tuna is my favorite -- coupled with those truffled mayonnaise fries and the salad lyonnaise!

We always enjoy Stained Glass. The food is very creative, with fun combinations. The wine fights are great! Our service has always been outstanding - gracious, perfectly timed, very attentive, but never overbearing. The deviled egg starter is one of the best we've had. There was both a vegetarian and vegan option for entrees. We would definitely recommend.

My wife and I met our grandson (a freshman at Northwestern) at The Stained Glass during our recent visit to Chicago. The Stained Glass is an upscale, yet comfortable, place to meet. It was our first time at this restaurant, but we would highly recommend it for good food, good service and an excellent ambiance. Our table was in a small, well-appointed room at the back of the restaurant, and the noise level was low enough that we could enjoy easy conversation. Our waiter was prompt and efficient. We started with the soup (lobster bisque and tomato bisque) and both were very good. My wife had the Amish chicken, which wasn't exactly to her liking, but okay. My grandson and I had the steak special and it was delicious. Both entrees were well presented. My wife had a drink called a "POM" and loved it. I had a glass each of albarino and shiraz, both very good. All in all, we enjoyed The Stained Glass and would definitely go there again the next time we visit Evanston.

We had a lovely time here last night. Very relaxing and romantic atmosphere. Perfect for date night. Attentive and very friendly service. The waitress who told us about the specials was so enthusiastic we wanted to order everything lol. The food was delicious and the wine tastings complemented it perfectly. For the wonderful evening we had the price was very reasonable. Can't wait to go back.

I've dined at The Stained Glass before and have had good experiences but this visit was very disappointing. There were 3 of us eating and none of us enjoyed our meals very much and were shocked to see how expensive the check was. Not sure if the kitchen was just having an off night but overall not a good dining experience.

We celebrated our Anniversary here last week and were very impressed all around. The atmosphere is lovely, terrific service, great wines, and an outstanding meal.
The duck was exceptional, as was the tuna trio. I had the ciopinno special which was delicious, if a little on the skimpy side.
Will definitely go back!

Menu was amazing and the food was very good. We had the strip steak special which involved two small steaks with coatings. In each case one was overcooked (thinner meat) and the other was fine. Our waiter never came by to check on us or the meal. He was not very attentive. That said, the food was very good and the atmosphere was very nice as well.

The ambiance and atmosphere was very nice. Pete was a pleasure to have as our server. We enjoyed the wine flights very much. Coffee was great. The trio of creme brulee was not the best.

A cute place that is perfect for small and large parties alike. I was impressed that when our server was working with another table when we arrived, the bartender came out to get our drink order. Very nice! I've found service to be slow this week at many restaurants, perhaps because students are on break? This place was the exception.

Went there for New Year's Eve. Very limited choices. Food quality was OK. Crab cake was mostly corn meal. Halibut small and dry. Not worth the cost at all. Also was supposed to get a glass of champagne with the meal but never got it.

We had a good table in a quiet corner. Server was adequate but not personable or attentive. More food (New Years menu) than I usually eat and not outstanding. Maybe because we were in an out-of-the-way spot, it did not feel special.

Three couples gathered for a New Year's Eve meal. The fixe prix menu was diverse and tasty. The bottles of Italian Sangiovese were great and a relative value. The service was a little challenged by the crowd, but were attentive and cheerful. My fried oyster appetizer and the 'Italian Donut' desert were the alpha and omega for my meal selections. We'll go back !!!
