Food was marginal and the service was too.
On vacation in San Francisco and this was a must eat here recommendation. We loved the food and the view is beautiful.
We love The Spinnaker. We go there each year in April for my birthday and we go again the week between Christmas and New Years, to celebrate the past year and to welcome the upcoming New Year. It's always a nice time--great food and views. We use the valet parking and always enjoy talking with the people who run it. My only suggestion would be to "update" the interior just a little bit--nothing fancy, maybe just spiff it up a bit. But don't change the menu! Petrale Sole Dore, all the way!!!
The service was really professional and the views spectacular. The food was quite tasty as well. There was convenient parking as well as a valet option. It seemed there was a large party (wedding or anniversary), but because the banquet room is on the other side of the kitchen, it never bothered us with noise or people.
I grew up in Marin and wanted to to revisit an old special dining experience. Well, nothing has changed. Literally nothing, but the prices. The fabric of the furniture was literally falling off the chairs. Food was fine but for $30/Jess in Sausalito, you can get so much more. I understand it survives on view and name recognition, but would love to see them out an ounce of care in the place. It’s a shame as The Spinnaker name deserves better
We went here for a birthday, and the view was amazing. We got sat right next to the window, and had a great view of Sausalito. The server greeted us, and was nice. But what threw the whole experience off was the food. For the price they offer, the food taste, quality, and presentation was completely disappointing. It was bland, and showed no effort. We were really disappointed because we wanted to celebrate at a higher end restaurant, thinking that the Spinnaker would be great, but we got stuck paying $100+ for bad food quality. I really hope they step up their efforts with making the food more presentable and add seasoning because their staff and ambiance is amazing.
Food was really horrible. Nice view though
As usual a wonderful experience, very accommodating servers, beautiful views, great food and we always appreciate the daily specials.
Great food with a beautiful view. Very nice for lunch.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. We were in Sausalito vacationing from MY and this will be one of our have to go places.
The restaurant had good service and a great view but the restaurant is in bad condition. The women's bathroom was dirty, old, and in bad condition. The chairs in the restaurant were in bad condition - with ripped upholstery. The carts they bring the food on are old fashioned and in poor condition. The rating on the restaurant was 'conditional' as posted on the outside window since 2017.
We've been coming to Spinnaker for years, always enjoying the food and the view. We had a friend visiting from abroad and he was impressed by the seafood and the beautiful view of the city lighting up at night. Sue's service was timely, upbeat, and professional, and we commented that the meal was the best we had had there--portions were just right. It was such a pleasant dining experience. Thanks!
Excellent food and ambiance. Highly recommended!
We arrived here 1/2 hour early and were pleased to be given a waterfront table although we hadn't asked for it. All our food was excellent. However, our water glasses were never refilled, the entrees were brought out before we had finished our salads and appetizers, and when our entree plates were removed, the check was brought without our being offered coffee or dessert. Additionally, the seat in our booth was ripped, with stuffing coming out. All in all, the service needs a tuneup and the decor needs refreshing, but the food and view were great!
The service started out very slow but picked up and was very good all in all. You can't beat the view and there's a dedicated parking lot as well. The food was much better than the last time we went, a few years ago. Petrale was good and looked moist and the Dungeness Crab Louie was fine. I'm not a fan of red leaf lettuce but it was a good salad. We'll go back
Love it here! Stumbled on it by accident whilst visiting Sausalito and came back a few days later with my daughter and son in law after visiting Alcatraz. Wonderful food, beautiful views and a great ambience.
Wonderful ambiance, superb service, outstanding views and delicious dinner and desserts. Worth the drive from San Jose!
Our waitress on April 5 was the best. She returned to our table many times & was extremely professional! Thank you
First-class food and choices from the menu, good wines and beer, excellent service, reasonable value. Combined with a late-morning ferry from the SF ferry terminal this was a wonderful way to spend a sunny day. Totally recommended.
This was a great find while visiting the area. The service was superb and the waiter always asked "are you finished dinning?" which was very cool and old school! If I had to describe the ambience in a short theme it'd be Golden Girls visit San Francisco. Very 80s beach decor but the food was excellent with great specials. I had the swordfish filet and my partner had the Salmon special. Both were great. We ordered wine, meals and dessert and left after 60 minutes without feeling rushed. The best part of the meal was the fact the restaurant is on stilts over the water. During dinner we had 4 seals splashing and floating outside the windows chasing a school of minnows. The evening couldn't have been more perfect to finish our stay in the Bay/Sonoma area. A few things to note is that they have plenty of parking (free unless you do valet). When we arrived there were a lot of families with middle school and high school kids but the non-family crowd was definitely dressed up and made the room feel special.
Food is ok. The place is so beautiful
The food and service are always excellent. We probably eat at this establishment 4-6 times a year. They always accommodate our window request and the wait staff is always wonderful. One thing we noticed is that the overall appearance is declining. It might be time for a little remodeling. However, I would highly recommend this place, over and over.
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants! The best view of the Bay and SF, attentive and friendly wait staff (including the Maitre D'!!) , and the food is even better than I remembered!!!
we loved the spinnaker restaurant! the greeters were happy, warm and welcoming! Since it was Easter, everyone was in a celebratory mood and it was fun! The views of the water were magnificent and the adorable chicken and rabbit on water boards was the best! People were definitely enjoying their food and the ambience of the spinnaker. It was just delightful! The service was excellent, and the food just delicious! Thank you! it was also a treat to have the complimentary valet parking! A most wonderful way to celebrate Easter!
As always, great service, great food, and a spectacular view of San Francisco!!
Lovely place. A bit old school. Unbeatable view!!
Unusually good good service. The place is a little worn, but location, location, location, and good food
Thank you for the great time we had on Saturday. Food and service was great!
The setting, seating and service were incredible. The steak i ordered, however was very gristly.
Can’t beat the VIEW.
Incredible views of the city and exceptional service.
We frequent this restaurant frequently especially w out of town guests for the amazing views. Food this time was ok,sea bass a bit watery. What’s concerning lately is how shabby some of the furnishings are appearing . Chairs with rips and worn areas, banquette tired, women’s bathroom very dated, wallpaper peeling. It couldn’t definitely use some remodeling.
Always wonderful, great table, good food, excellent service make it perfect!
Great view. Food was bland. The restaurant has an 80s feel.
Mis 2 hijas se intoxicaron con unos calamares
Absolutely superb! Spectacular view and spectacular food. Our waiter was so attentive but unobtrusive. He didn't rush us and we stayed for a couple of hours at a window table.
FOOD WAS NOT WHAT IT USSUALY IS, JUST OK. I WAS DISAPPOINTED SERVICE WAS GOOD.
Lovely and calm place to dine-in. We ordered some beer and wine with carb cakes and shrimp quesadilla. Everything tasted good
Each year when my daughter visits, we take her here for our last meal together so she can see the Bay, the hills, etc. she loves it and the food and service never disappoint.
restaurant was great. receiving multiple emails after the reservation is annoying.
