I read some bad reviews and still went because I was hoping to be surprised and it was also conveniently located a few blocks from the movies so we decided to try it out. Should have trusted the reviews! We had the mussels and steak frites. Not a lick of seasoning in both and we really didnt like it. Can't speak for the other menu items because we haven't tried them but if both entrees were bad then its a sign. There was no host when we got there and no servers to take care of the dining room guests (why accept reservations then? Should be no res, self seat and bar service) Bartenders were serving the dining room which had them clearly overwhelmed and they basically never spoke to us until we asked for a check. Felt bad for them honestly, not their fault at all! We wont be going back but I hope whoever is reading this has a better experience and if the restaurant reads this, do better! It's unfortunate because the place has a nice ambiance and lots of potential. Wherever you end up my fellow diners, hope you enjoy!

Sovereign is always a solid spot for HH or a nice dinner. Food is great, and the beer list is extensive.

We went for Mother's Day brunch. I was happy that they had their ordinary menu and was not like other restaurants that jack up the prices just because of the day. They offered me a complimentary glass of champagne and a cute little dried flower bouquet. From the time we got there everyone was so friendly and nice. Our server Charlotte was amazing! She went above and beyond. We have gluten allergies and she went carefully over the menu what was safe to eat and was not. She made recommendations to everyone at the table for fun menu items to try. Our entire meal from appetizers to dessert was fabulous. I cannot wait to go back to try dinner items. I just hope Charolette is working that night so we can experience her fabulous service again.

The atmosphere and drink selection is superb. Appetizers are phenomenal, especially the bacon wrapped dates and bitterballen, but the main plates were a bit on the underwhelming side compared to when I’ve eaten here several times in the past.

Servers were helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Food was fine. Drinks were fine. Nothing outstanding and we got a variety of foods and drinks. We don’t regret going but there isn’t anything about it that was remarkable IMO. Oh! Prices are reasonable for Georgetown! Place was a bit too loud, although that’s hard to control when the bar and restaurant areas are so close to one another.
