The Southern Gentleman
The gorgeous top floor space in Buckhead Atlanta was designed by New York’s Lacina Heitler, and features classic, Southern touches done in surprising, modern ways: seersucker window treatments, tufted camel leather booths, vintage plateware, white marble countertops, vaulted ceilings, herringbone floors, dramatic chandeliers, complete with an oversized portrait of Mark Twain painted by a commissioned local artist.

Great service and delicious dishes
Nothing to write home about.... muscles were served in cold broth with nothing to put shells in. Beet salad was good.
Our waitress Shannon was amazing! It was our anniversary and she went above and beyond
Food was just average
This place is what Heaven must be like... My wife and I have been doing date nights for 15 years and last Saturday night was the most memorable of all of them, and one we will never forget. The staff treated us like celebrities, the food was delicious, the drinks went down smooth (A little too smooth...haha) and we left in awe. A special thanks to Maria, who has a heart of gold and went WAY beyond the normal call of duty when I told her it was our anniversary, plus I was surprising my wife with the first copy of my new novel, so she pulled out all the stops and her kindness will never be forgotten. Another manager, Alex, took time out of his busy schedule and came over and introduced himself. Then the head chef, Joseph, came out and asked about the dinner, which was the best we have had in years! Kevin, our server, could not have been more courteous and took exceptional care of us all night. All these people took their time during a hectic Saturday night to make sure we were OK, which meant the world to us. You hear about a unique dining experience all the time, but this one was really was. We will never forget our night thanks to the incredible people at TSG, and I urge anyone reading this to book a reservation today because you will never forget it! 🥰
Yummy! We enjoyed the food and ambiance.
I had a bridesmaid lunch here and the service was amazing! They made me feel special and the food was an added bonus.
Great food, great service. The bone in rib eye was amazing.
My date found the high top chairs to be very uncomfortable, as there was no support underneath. We ordered the sweet potato hash, the pickled fried green tomatoes, and the fried chicken. They were delicious, just a little more than I would normally pay for those dishes, even more upscale versions. On the other hand, the waiter suggested that we share a plate and add a couple other appetizers, which we did, and we were both fully satisfied. Our total for the night including a couple drinks was $67 before tip so overall, very reasonable for a date-night dinner. I wouldn’t be opposed to going again, I’ll just be sure to request a booth.
Always enjoy our dinners, but more especially the desserts - oh that bread pudding.
Went for Sunday Brunch. Pimiento cheese omelette was very good. My friends enjoyed it as well. The spiced Apple Mimosa was outstanding!
Amazing experience! For our first time, it couldn’t have been better! The “hot” fish bites were so good, all the way down to the ribeye that was super expensive yet super worth it! Needless to say, amazing time and money well spent!
Dominique was incredible! She took great care of us. My in-laws were visiting from out of town to meet their granddaughter for the first time. She was patient and always made sure we had everything we needed.
For the area I expected more food menu variation. We had pimento cheese, salt and vinegar chips and bacon and fried tomatoes for appetizers, all of which were just ok. My wife and I split the hamburger which was excellent.
The bourbon/whiskey menu was extensive and priced adequately. Ambiance was bar derived as expected. The service was good from entrance to exit. The manager had a great sense of humor and was very engaging. If it were local for me, I'd try it again. Since it's an hour plus away, not likely to return. I will try one of the sibling restaurants.
Nice welcome to Atlanta
The evening we were there, there were 4 tables filled and a sweet 16. It was clear we were the least important table. The manager and executive chef spent the night at the table next to us. We saw much more of the staff's backs than fronts. Once the table on our other side sat, that was it for the server. The only times we saw him were to deliver and retrieve the check. As an indicator, our party of 4 left with 7 empty glasses on the table. Nobody cared that they were empty.
Drinks were uninspiring. Lemonaid tasted like they forgot simple syrup and just gave us lemon juice on the rocks. Old fashion was done after one sip. Nobody noticed.
I know that they can do good food. They brought it to the table next to us (the one they wanted to impress). My chicken breast was small and OK. If you want better mac & Cheese, go to GC BBQ (or even Chick-fil-a). My wife got shrimp and grits. You can get better shrimp and grits... anywhere. It was soupy and fishy. That's just wrong. She took a bite and left it... and nobody cared why it wasn't touched. Desserts were OK. Checkerboard pie tasted more like a mediocre brownie. Meh.
I am hoping that they are much better than this review and the people at the other tables we AJC food reviewers who warranted extreme attention. I can only judge by what we saw and that was poor. The people watching was really good. Too bad we spoiled it with food.
Very fun place for brunch in Buckhead. The setting is nice, and service was unbelievably quick. Food is quite good, as well. Recommended.
Manager and waiter were amazing. Manager knows all on whiskey and bourbon which was really enjoyable. We will be back.
Chic venue, well-located, with an upscale diverse clientele. The food was excellent-- and I am not typically a fan of American Southern Cuisine. The flavors were fresh and surprising. The decor felt subdued and eye-candy was everywhere.
The appetizers were good but everything went down hill after that..
Was stellar and fun
Best venue ever for a Birthday Celebration! Our Server made ALL the Difference 🙏🏼🤗
We were celebrating our 16 year Wedding Anniversary with our two sons.
Our server was fantastic. Food was great. We will definitely be back!
An amazing brunch spot!
Took a party of 6 there to celebrate my b-day and had a horrible experience. A/C was not working and temp was hot, server took over half an hour to bring wine, and another half hour to come back and take order. This is the 2nd bad experience there, first was brunch about a year ago and I was giving them another opportunity with dinner but they failed miserably. Closed out after a few appetizers and drinks. Went over to gypsy and had a far better experience.
Very nice place overall, the weekend of SEPT 28/29 they must have lost their AC to cool the 90+ temperature outside. Nothing worse then eating out hot and sweaty.
Great place overall, will have to try on a cool night
Good food. Great service. Great ambiance.
Good would be rated more except they have a limited menu. Bartenders don’t make good drinks —- they just okay! Waiter staff is great. Management is no existence and less friendly. Need better bar tenders and I’ve been many times giving them benefit of doubt
The staff was exceptional.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food! Robert was an amazing waiter as well!! Highly recommend for brunch!
All the food was very good. The pulled pork on pancakes was excellent. Fried green tomatoes were very good. The Mac n Cheese was as good as it gets. My grandson had the chicken dinner and thought it was excellent.
Our waitress was super attentive and proactively updated us with us when one of our plates was taking long to come out. Do yourself a favor and order the mac and cheese, plus the bread pudding for dessert.
Great selection of bourbons, impeccable service and excellent food. Really liked the diverse selection of large and small plates.
Great food in an amazing area! Fairly priced and amazing. Shoutout to Shannon the waitress!
Our dining experience was okay although several dishes seemed to be under-seasoned and/or undersized, making them a little disappointing. Drinks were good, and the wait staff was okay. Our main server didn’t seem overly confident in his answers when asked questions about the menu, and, at one point, an assisting server seemed to give one person in our party attitude for seemingly no reason. Although this experience fell short of our hopes given some of the reviews I’d read, I’d give it another try in case they we’re just having an “off” night.
This was my second visit. The service was quite a bit slow for the crowd to be low. The drinks were good but very expensive. They were out of the type of drink I wanted - Nick's garden and out of one of the appetizers I wanted. My friends and I stayed longer than we should have after we wrapped up the check and no one rushed us out so that was nice.
This was a great place for a Sunday Brunch date. This was my third time there, and once again, I had a very nice time.
Great food and staff! Highly recommend!!!
