The Southern Gentleman
The gorgeous top floor space in Buckhead Atlanta was designed by New York’s Lacina Heitler, and features classic, Southern touches done in surprising, modern ways: seersucker window treatments, tufted camel leather booths, vintage plateware, white marble countertops, vaulted ceilings, herringbone floors, dramatic chandeliers, complete with an oversized portrait of Mark Twain painted by a commissioned local artist.

Very fun place for brunch in Buckhead. The setting is nice, and service was unbelievably quick. Food is quite good, as well. Recommended.
Manager and waiter were amazing. Manager knows all on whiskey and bourbon which was really enjoyable. We will be back.
Chic venue, well-located, with an upscale diverse clientele. The food was excellent-- and I am not typically a fan of American Southern Cuisine. The flavors were fresh and surprising. The decor felt subdued and eye-candy was everywhere.
The appetizers were good but everything went down hill after that..
Was stellar and fun
Best venue ever for a Birthday Celebration! Our Server made ALL the Difference 🙏🏼🤗
We were celebrating our 16 year Wedding Anniversary with our two sons.
Our server was fantastic. Food was great. We will definitely be back!
An amazing brunch spot!
Took a party of 6 there to celebrate my b-day and had a horrible experience. A/C was not working and temp was hot, server took over half an hour to bring wine, and another half hour to come back and take order. This is the 2nd bad experience there, first was brunch about a year ago and I was giving them another opportunity with dinner but they failed miserably. Closed out after a few appetizers and drinks. Went over to gypsy and had a far better experience.
Very nice place overall, the weekend of SEPT 28/29 they must have lost their AC to cool the 90+ temperature outside. Nothing worse then eating out hot and sweaty.
Great place overall, will have to try on a cool night
Good food. Great service. Great ambiance.
Good would be rated more except they have a limited menu. Bartenders don’t make good drinks —- they just okay! Waiter staff is great. Management is no existence and less friendly. Need better bar tenders and I’ve been many times giving them benefit of doubt
The staff was exceptional.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food! Robert was an amazing waiter as well!! Highly recommend for brunch!
All the food was very good. The pulled pork on pancakes was excellent. Fried green tomatoes were very good. The Mac n Cheese was as good as it gets. My grandson had the chicken dinner and thought it was excellent.
Our waitress was super attentive and proactively updated us with us when one of our plates was taking long to come out. Do yourself a favor and order the mac and cheese, plus the bread pudding for dessert.
Great selection of bourbons, impeccable service and excellent food. Really liked the diverse selection of large and small plates.
Great food in an amazing area! Fairly priced and amazing. Shoutout to Shannon the waitress!
Our dining experience was okay although several dishes seemed to be under-seasoned and/or undersized, making them a little disappointing. Drinks were good, and the wait staff was okay. Our main server didn’t seem overly confident in his answers when asked questions about the menu, and, at one point, an assisting server seemed to give one person in our party attitude for seemingly no reason. Although this experience fell short of our hopes given some of the reviews I’d read, I’d give it another try in case they we’re just having an “off” night.
This was my second visit. The service was quite a bit slow for the crowd to be low. The drinks were good but very expensive. They were out of the type of drink I wanted - Nick's garden and out of one of the appetizers I wanted. My friends and I stayed longer than we should have after we wrapped up the check and no one rushed us out so that was nice.
This was a great place for a Sunday Brunch date. This was my third time there, and once again, I had a very nice time.
Great food and staff! Highly recommend!!!
Went for m birthday. Beautiful restaurant and get service
This was a birthday brunch and everything came together well. Love this place!!!
Wow! What a great surprise. We revisited this restaurant after a long absence and had a fabulous evening. Service was excellent, drinks were fun and inventive. Menu was Southern with many vegetable options and fun presentations. “Bites” and “starters” give lots of options to taste and share (like tapas, according to our server). We shared the steak dinner and ended with a delicious bread pudding that our server again recommended (well done!) and a fun and impromptu port tasting with Alex (one of the owners who also seated us at our arrival). Great energy, eclectic music, also a fun place to dress up if you want without feeling out of place. We were also watching the college game on the tv, so dressy casual is not out of place either. Give Southern Gentleman another look or a visit. You won’t regret it. Thank you for a fun date night!
I really enjoyed the mussels and the shrimp and grits. Although most people are not fans of eating okra, I on the other hand thought that the okra in the dish was a good touch. The waitress was amazing and friendly. I love the atmosphere and location as well.
Great service from the host and our server, Shannon. The food was delicious and the space was great. Overall it was perfect experience for us.
We love The Southern Gentleman! We went there a year ago for our first anniversary and loved it so much that we had to go back the other day to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. The food is outstanding, the ambience is just perfect--cozy enough, but also laid back enough to not be the least bit pretentious. We can not possibly say enough good things about the restaurant or about our celebration dinner the other night. Perfect night, perfect dinner, perfect restaurant!!!
Great night with a beautiful lady. Food was really good and service was great.
This was a nice cool spot to grab brunch!! the waiters and bartenders were also attentive!! will definitely be back. The food was so tasty !! highly recommend their brunch menu.
Brunch selection left something to be desired. They were also out of the deviled eggs and brunch gumbo. Two popular items on my list to try. Additionally, specialty mimosa was sugary.
It was busy but it was busy weekend in atlanta. the wait was long even with a reservation but the mimosas were awesome and the food was delicious. the staff handled the wait as best as they could. I would definitely return.
This place was definitely not worth the money we spent. Our food all came out at least 15 minutes apart (my bf got his food first). We got our appetizer after he got his entree. The area is wonderful but the food and money we spent was not worth it.
It took 3 times to get a hamburger ordered plain for our adult son. By the time they got his order right my husband and I were finished with our meal. This was not our first bad experience at this restaurant. We gave it another try after getting terrible service with mediocre food the first time. That was our last time there. Never again. That low quality of service and food should not be in the shops of Buckhead.
We enjoy a great gathering of friend to chat and spend time with each other. We picked a great spot.
Great food! And the staff was delightful. Going again next week.
This is one of my fav restaurants in Buckhead. Great staff, great service, nice wine list.
Had Sunday brunch. The place was really busy and the service suffered as a result. I had reservations and we were seated promptly. They did take some off of the bill without being asked which was nice. It was extremely loud and the food was just ok. Limited brunch menu. I had the pimento cheese and bacon omelet. Sorta bland actually. I love the decor and the location. May give them another try. This was my second trip there, but the first brunch.
Skip Southern Gentlemen, it was a complete disappointment on two fronts, the food and the service. I ordered pimento cheese omelette and a side of wheat toast. The omelette was inedible. After one bite, decided it best not to take another. The wheat toast never arrived and asked it be removed. How does toast not come out with the order? What compounded the problem was the service. Our waiter was disengaged and spent more time talking to other staff then working his tables. Avoid Southern Gentlemen!
